i think this is a much under-appreciated song in the band maid canon on an album that to me stands the test of time - i love the intertwining vocals curling upwards and prolonging chorus with the classic punk/rock n roll drive - reminds me of the early beat bands of the sixties (and in any case a lot of the late 70s punk explosion was really matching 50s and 60s pop song melodies to garage band rock dynamics) - for some strange reason this song has me harking back to 'i should have known better' by the beatles - driving beat and clever shifts in the vocals and melodies + catchy hooks galore~! :)
I absolutely love Thrill. Curiously enough though, I *only* like the studio/MV version. It's one of the few Band-Maid songs that I absolutely do not care for live. I would never put a live Thrill song in a playlist, but have put in the studio Thrill several times in the same playlist, just to increase the odds of getting it on shuffle mode, lol.
An underappreciated song from an album filled with rock bangers. What gets to me on this one is Kanami's guitar which reminds me of classical Spanish guitar playing.
The Thrill video is what hooked got me…if I had just heard the song on the radio I would have liked it. But seeing the video I get the “Gap” that Miku wanted to promote! It worked on me 😊! I do miss Miku’s “HEY” in the live versions I’ve seen. Just music wise I would put Freezer above Thrill with Real Existence #1, but hell we are only 14 songs in. 🤘🕊️🦍🥷👸🏻👀PO!

I think that Freezer is a better song, but with the nostalgia factor it's going to always be a couple of places above where it would be otherwise. It's fun to think we'll still be watching this ranking two years from now. Maybe three if you miss a week, and they get another album or two out in that time :)

Oops!, must have missed a reaction or two- Real Existence is No.1. Kanami- genius as usual. These earlier songs are strange. Generally they are of the period- Early B-M, while Kanami's guitar works is like a few years ahead of the rest of the arrangement- composition wise, a look into the future.

I really like this series of posts. I do not envy you the task of ranking all of these great songs. No way could I do it without a trip to the asylum.
