Should check out the Band-Maid songs "Rock in Me", "Time" and/or "Sayonakidori" (Either the regular Hard driving version or the more Ballid like Accoustic version) to Hear Miku the rhythm guitarist and Backing/Secondary vocalist take on lead vocals duties. After that you can check out her side project Cluppo which is more Pop-rock.

Thanks for the reaction and comments. The juxtaposition of songs on the opposite ends of the style/BPM spectrum showcases their dynamic range and diversity of sound. These ladies are arguably the best live rock band on the planet. They have no limits when it comes to their creativity and imagination. I suspect that Kanami (lead guitar) being a classically trained pianist spilled over into her fingering style when playing the guitar.

"Po" is a Japanese onomatopoeia of a Pigeon sound, fully said "Cruppo." We in the US (West) would say coo. Simply, Miku Kobato's (Rhythm G, 2nd V, main lyricist, Head Pigeon), last name is translated to small dove or pigeon. Hence, everything "Pigeon" persona = Miku, Po! 🦍🍌

Any Maids serving (as they call their songs) ROCKS!!! The ladies are in their early 30s now and have been rocking for almost 10 years.
Try Thrill the track that blew them up on the world stage (the label was about let them go when this happened in 2015), Freedom, Onset, From now on, Hate? Are all great tracks and they have an extensive back catalogue of over 100 tracks
Welcome Princes and Princesses to the 5 Band-Maid members:
SAIKI Atsumi (Sy-i-Key or Psyche) “Ice Queen" - Lead vocals, arrangements and melodies. The youngest, “Sensei” (Teacher) as band members call her, has the last word on many musical decisions. High-heels or sneakers, Sai-chan’s smile melts away her sometimes perceived, coldish persona. Saiki’s powerhouse performances, charisma, and voice focus the experience that’s driven her to the top echelon of hard rock front women... or front men!
MIKU Kobato (Me-Ku), "Small Pigeon" - Rhythm guitar, vocals and lyricist. “Koba”, as Saiki calls her, is the Band founder and a firecracker MC & PR Spokes Pigeon, po! Her “Magic Spell Time” charm and energy ignite the room. She couldn’t play when she formed the band and was tutored by Kanami.
KANAMI Tono (Ka-Na-Me) “Princess” - Lead guitar, keyboards, is a prolific writer of most Band-Maid material. Kanami (translates “Song Wave”) is a possessed riff-slayer who’s so damn adorable it hurts. The only thing you want is more!
AKANE Hirose (A-Ka-Nay) "Gorilla" - Drums, band energizer & co-clown with MISA. Achi’s talents include massive consumption of noodles and bananas, of course, (even during performance!) while revolutionizing rock drumming with relentless drive, dynamics and the kick. This “DrumZilla” is the Party!
MISA (Me-Sa), "Barefoot Assassin" - Bass. An alluring free spirit driving her 5-string to rapturous low-ends while pulling off surprising counter leads with Kanami, off-stage MISA is the band’s goofball ballerina. Sometimes seen as the Mysterious One because she lets her instrument do the talking, the Assassin literally kills it… every note uniting Band-Maid’s world-class rhythm section. A slug of JB, a slight grin, and let the slappin’ begin… MISA! MISA! MISA!

Band-Maids Genre is Band-Maid. Rock, Metal, Pop, Alt, Prog, Punk, with Jazz and Blues for sprinkles. Different is another song they wrote for an anime.
Miku Kobato: Red rose, Rhythm guitar and backup vocals. Started the band. Started guitar when the first 4 members decided she shouldn't sing lead. She found
Kanami Tono: Lead guitarist, main composer. She worked with and is friends with
Akane Hirose: Drummer extraordinaire. Akane attended the Tokyo School of music and did some work with
MISA: Bad ass barefoot bass assassin. She likes her whisky! Together these four played a few sets before they decided they needed a stronger singer. Enter
Saiki Atsumi: The Queen. Together they have around 125 songs and just celebrated 10 years together.
If you want harder, try Different or Rinne. About Us is a ballad written for the fans during covid, Endless Story closes out a lot of shows. just look at anything! Have fun.

That's the rhythm guitarist hammering rapidly in the intro of Blackhole.
Side note: there's no such thing as moshpit in Japan at proper concerts, they've toured in US last year, the year before, and couple of times before that as well. From 2022 to 2023, they appeared in few major rock festivals such as aftershock, welcome to rockville, lollapalooza, pointfest and sonic temple art and music festival. They opened for Guns and Roses when they toured to Japan in 2022 and recenly collaborated with Mike Einziger of Incubus.
So I can see them touring in USA again maybe next year?

If you are trying to grow your channel may I suggest Alip Ba Ta as a subject of reaction and amazement. To say he is a finger style guitarist is like calling an H bomb a firecracker. If you love music you will be amazed!! Lots of fans!
Lovebites is a beautiful all female metal band from Japan. They have a large fan base. They are amazing if you like metal. That's enough for now.
Po is the sound a dove or pidgeon makes in Japan. In the West it is coo. Miku Kobato claims that she is a 810 year old pidgeon. While working in a Maid Cafe the girls were asked to pick a cute animal totem. Most picked bunnies or kitty cats. Miku chose a pidgeon. It is my belief that Miku embraced her condition of being visibly pidgeon-toed. She has difficulty moving and often falls. It would be just like the Mighty Miku to turn a liability into an asset. Just a suspicion!

  • @stabehlphotography

There are several documentaries out there on the ladies and should you sit down with those one day, you will learn that Miku (pigtail guitar) didn't play a lick of guitar when the band started.
Never even held one but thought it would be cool to have two guitars. Compared to the lead guitar Kanami who started playing in between baby naps almost, Miku is a rookie and a half. BUT, she is learning and improving constantly. But that is why you hear a pronounced bass and drum line. They do have to "carry" a lot more of the rhythm section than a band with a more proficient rhythm guitar normally would. If you at some point watch some of the real early stuff, Miku's guitar is a mere prop. Now she is pulling off slides, bends and even a little but of soloing. She is getting there

They don't have a mosh pit, a US audience tried it once and got told off by Miku, there was no audience at this recording, it was an online concert, Japan took Covid seriously and the government sponsored bands who wanted to produce online performances so that they could still get income.
Po doesn't mean anything, the Japanese onomatopoeic words for a pigeon sound are kurrupo or cluppo, the Kanji characters for Miku can also can be read as small pigeon, so Miku ends every sentence with 'po' because she is a small pigeon. Cluppo is also the name of her solo project.
Kanami's robot fingers can be attributed to the fact that she's primarily a pianist, playing piano since the age of 3 and only taking up the guitar in High School.

And why, instead of doing more BAND-MAIKO videos, this time the joke was she's going solo as Cluppo. Check out her stuff sometime. It's not like BAND-MAID, but then again they're Shapeshifters. That's their genre. If you had kept going when you stopped for a screenshot you would have heard her say, "STOP". But, there was no audience. This was shot during the COVID Clampdown. They did some songs about it. 'About Us' is a Love Letter to the fans, and 'Unleash' is about curing the world with their music in anime form.

Ratatat and Ratatata are not necessarily Asian, but more of an onomatopoeia. It's basically quick, repeated noises like a drum or shooting. Rapid fire...

I just thought it was funny that two Japanese songs I listened to have nothing to do with each other both said it lol

@@thefablesfolly It was a bit ironic that you chose those 2 songs in one day...We have advised Miku to file a copyright claim...🤣🤣🤣

@@thefablesfollyI can absolutely guarantee that whoever writes babymetal's songs is very familiar with bandmaid. The girls don't hang together, Miku doesn't want to be associated with the whole cheese, but the bands hang out together. I think I've seen MISA (bass) in pictures with their wizard guy who plays the Chapstick thing.

No audience for this one- it was an online mini-concert they did during the pandemic.

Because of Covid in 2021, this was a concert without an audience. Because they couldn't tour or do concerts with live audiences, they turned to online concerts like this. Oh, and Saiki (vocalist) is very good at rapping. The drummer was pushed to the limit -- she couldn't play this song at first, but -- hard work and she made it.
They have toured America a number of times. Wait and they will come to you.

Band-Maid is the epitome of rock and roll. They defy all genres of rock. They aften mix several genres in one of their over 130 recorded songs. We Maidiacs (that's what Band-Maid fans call ourselves) just call their sound Band-Maid Music. I have been to two of their concerts in the U.S. last year. Believe it or not, they are much better live. Welcome to the wide and wild world of Band-Maid.

Roger is everywhere.....good job brother. This reaction was much better. Good job. You will find that trying to place Band-Maid in a genre is ridiculous and thats why you will see that Maidiacs say Band-Maid is a genre. Im looking forward to you seeing Kanami in true string melt down when she turns into a true guitar beast. You've only seen her warm up so far and the best is yet to come. All of the ladies are tops in their field and always play to what is best for the song when composing.....no egos at all. Again, good job brother.

There was no live audience present in the studio where "Manners/Black Hole" was recorded. They performed this two-fer video as part of an on-line okyu-ji during the pandemic because of the very restrictive shutdowns of live audiences and travel. The band, being troopers and wanting desperately to connect with their fans did this on-line concert.
