Listen to this track now on all major streaming platforms! First I thought this is gonna be a silly episode (judging by the thumbnail) but holy moly that went in the complete other direction. And the way it ended was something I never saw in Doctor Who (if I'm wrong please correct me ^^) Just an amazing episode! What do you think?
@@theo-jamesmoulton2000 Except you missed it if that's what you got. That's how it first appears, but it's actually about social bubbles and echo chambers.
@@ClintBandito I didn’t miss it. I simply didn’t type it because I credited the people likely to read it with the intelligence ti draw their own conclusions and if I’m being perfectly honest I didn’t feel like stating the obvious in that level I’d frankly nauseating detail
its slowly coming back to him, the doctors dark, sad, hatred side, I'm glad they decided to slowly bring it back rather than just splitting it off to david
I don't think the Doctor showed any hate here. He was explicitly doing the opposite. Regardless of their prejudices, he just wanted to save them. They refused. The darkness in this theme is his defeat at the hands of those who are so lost to bigotry they are beyond saving.
Watching this as the score swelled and the doctor was unable to save them, after 5 long episodes, this was the moment where all my worries of this new era of who were put aside. This is the moment where I say Ncuti and said 'This is the doctor. That right there is my doctor'. It's nice to have him back.
Yeeeeeep. I had doubts, after the s---tstorm that was Jodie's run, especially because the first couple episodes of Ncuti's run were kinda eh. But the moment this scene played, I knew they made the right decision. This IS the Doctor. This is him. He's finally back, and I'm so happy. I literally talked to my partner after this episode aired and said "Well, he convinced me. That's the Doctor."
I'm not so sure. I think thirteen and fourteen would, but I do think fifteen has rediscovered the emotional maturity to recognise that he's not a miracle worker. Case in point, from the Giggle - "You can't save everyone". He'll certainly be distraught and frustrated and I imagine that's going to spill over into next week and I think we're going to see him a lot more no-nonsense for the duration of that episode (and likely for the rest of the series with the finale approaching), but I doubt this will have a lasting impact on his character. I can imagine he will put the blame firmly on the society that created these prejudices and nobody else. Sadly, he must have known very early into this incarnation that this was coming sooner or later, and is likely going to happen again.
I don't think Lindy and her stupid little friends survived though, that's the point. They're so lost to their hatred, it's literally going to kill them.
I love The Doctor because even when faced with the worst of humanity, even when he's faced with assholes who hate him simply for his skin color, he still cries because he couldn't save them. He seems the worst of humanity yet still believes in the best of it. He knows we're capable of horrible things yet still will try to save even those who don't deserve to be saved. These people will undeniably die out there, and the universe will be all that little bit better for it, yet The Doctor will still br upset that he couldn't save them. Despite what he says at times and how he feels, The Doctor is a good man.
After I noticed how early the shepherd boy's theme was introduced, I will be watching out if this doesn't become this doctor's theme. How sad would it be for a doctor this sweet to have this as his regeneration theme.
@@Ownerislost 15th Doctor is one of the the most jolly and gay Doctor we had right off the bat. Whatever they planned for his story arc is going to ruin him, I just know it. We will end up missing the "I worked out my traumas" Doctor so bad by the time he regenerates.
I didnt take much to the fifteenth doctors theme but this version of it has absolutely awakened it into something exciting. I hope we see more of this from Ncuti.
Like the "Dark Doctor". The sadness & frustration & anger at people's stupidity. Hope they circle back to that. That theme was reminiscent of The Hobbit. Interesting take on social interactions & cliques, almost like it was written by Charlie Brooker for Black Mirror...
During the Rings of Akhaten speech, the Doctor talks a lot about his experience of grief... how he was the last of the time lords, how he was alone watching the universe disappear at the end of time itself, and how powerless he was in those moments. I think the doctor is similarly grieving for these people who are so lost in their bigotry that they're marching off to their deaths for no reason. This is the doctor saying "I could have saved you, but I am powerless because your hatred has consumed you".
If I was the doctor in this situation I would stop helping the human race and let them suffer to teach them a lesson not to take people’s help for granted
There's 2 ways this could've gone. Either his crying was an instantaneous signal that these mfs did NOT EVEN LAST A NIGHT and that he knows by the time they leave, they're done for. Option 2 is that they lived, and in spite of The Doctor and all "outsiders", they built a society against him. A society that generations down the line would be one massive fundraiser for Demons run

@MrNewVeg4s agreed, I love this season so far!
@MrNewVeg4s thank you! 🙏
Nah i called it as a not so subtle critical commentary on our dependency on technology and social media very early.

Yeah... It's like, that trauma and that resentment towards mankind is still part of him... Doesn't matter how many times he bigenerates
I mean they still have kinda done that tho icl

The worst part is that the Doctor will see this as their failure, someone they couldn't save.
Thing is people have to want to be saved

Thank you for that remake, I'm ROOTING for the official OST but this is so well done!!

It was really nice to hear, "The Long Song" again after so long in that beginning segment of this song.

This theme is great, I hope it becomes as iconic as something like the shepherd's boy in later use
What's crazy about this scene was this was the first scene Ncuti shot, this was his very first time on set and he did such a good job.
0:36 anyone else get 007 vibes here?
FINALLY SOMEONE SAID IT
My heart nearly broke when I saw how he just let out his anger, it was just wow. 😭
Ncuti Gatwa does such an amazing job!
Exactly!
Man, they're gonna go full 8th Doctor on 15. First he nearly dies on a landmine, then his companion has to save him, now this.
Fantastic job! When this ep ended I wanted to hear this again ASAP. Thanks!

this sounds like the rings of akathen

this is definetly one of the best pieces of music of this season
Loved seeing ncuti gatwa darker side he is amazing he my favourite doctor ever
"When even the Doctor fail"
PERFECT !
Thank you :)
Stunning remake! 🔥👍
Thanks :)
Can see them using this when he regenerates
Totally. While the ending of Dot and Bubble was frustrating and bitter, the music isn't entirely somber.

Thank you! I used some from Impact Soundworks, Spitfire and Cinesamples
Can anyone figure out why it starts with the long song, usually I can connect Golds songs quite well thematically but im struggling here?
It may be intended to directly affirm this is 'The Doctor'... but yet he cannot save them. They reject him.
