Glad for everyone that has had a good experience. I found I was a cash cow. Also talked to like dirt from the chairman at the time (2005) . What was stated in my weeks course contract wasn't stuck to either. All in all didn't feel welcome at all. So simply didn't join. Your loss guy's!
I am sorry that you had a bad experience back in 2005. That was before I was a member, and I am chairman now so I can assure you that things would be very different today. Our 5 day courses are almost fully booked all summer, and very many people come back year after year.
@@MrSoarlikeeagles I imagine it doesn't get any easier to keep a club financially healthy. Cotswolds isn't the only club I've seen a strange attitude to new or learning members. Some people need to remember about the life blood of there opporation. I'm sure this subject often comes up in commity meetings. Or I hope it does. Thanks for your reply, and good luck for the future. Best regards Gordon.
@@gliderroos I can vouch for the changes. I joined 3 days ago on the Saturday. By the time I got to the launch point there was a long queue so didn't get to fly. Helped retrieve etc and came back the next day early. Although already names down for flying it was suggested I went to the top of the list to ensure I got some flying. Helped out setting up etc even tried to fix one of the golf buggies, and I got 4 flights in. Everyone was helpful and supportive.
That's a good video that accurately reflects the club, its good facilities, and the very friendly people. I wish I was still flying there!
Sounds like you need to get back involved
Come back Tom, you will be very welcome!
Would really like to pop over and give AD a try sometime!

We at Glide Britain are sorry that you did not have a good experience. We will forward your comments to Cotswold Gliding.
