If there was "nothing he could have done" then none of us should be flying gliders. Plenty that could have been done, using the rudder properly for example, and I'm sure his intructor had a chat about it.
hello the instructor was in the launch bus having a cup of tea, no problem he is confident with my flying, we should all be away of long grass if one side it can cause an yaw issue.
hi Chris no i had done three holiday courses, one at Long Mind and the other two at the Cotswold Gliding Club, i managed 25 flights on this last mission 10 were solo :)

and not solo, maybe the author means PIC? the unstructor can clearly be heard asking for more rudder...
