Joe thanks for that amazing video I’m restoring my 68 Mustang as well which I was having second doubts of installing the vintage air system and now that I saw your video I’m more confident to buy one and install it myself thanks again and keep up the good work
Thank you for making these nice videos on the VA install. My dad and I are trying to put one in right now as well. I had a quick question. What did you do about your "fresh air vent" on the drivers side? Our kit only came with one plug? Would appreciate your thoughts. Thank you again! -Tak
@@JoDaddysGarage Thank you for replying so quickly. Did you just leave that vent open without anything connecting to it? Since I am working on a "factory-no-air" car, I do not see anything to connect that to?
Do you think it would be advantageous for me to install the A/c unit while my dash is out? Or should I wait till i refinish the dash and install it? At least for just the head unit....
Only if the car is submerged. The internal tower is very close to the bottom side of the upper cowl. It would be very difficult for any water to get in there.
I got nervous for a minute when you thought there was no "O" ring needed for the heater core tubes! What a mess that would have been when the antifreeze leaked on the floor when you were all done! : ) Did you put them in the Brooklyn Pony? I haven't watched that video yet.
Awesome video Barry! Looking forward to Part 3. Are you planning to do the entire firewall in KillMat? Any reason you didn't go with a traditional firewall pad?
I will cover the whole firewall with kilmat. I didn't go with the jute backed pad because I just don't feel it's necessary as I planned to use kilmat throughout the rest of the car. Also eliminated nesting material for any mice....

Very Cool! I am getting ready to order a Vintage Air for my 66'.
It's all looking Good! I'm very interested in your next video with the Killmat. Great video as always! Thanks
Good luck with it looks like you you've got it just about done.
hi the ac is looking good barry
Great Idea to only glue the "top hat" into the cowl intake hole. Definitely don't want to put holes there
Might as well put a second layer of killmat while you're down there. It's not super expensive relatively speaking
You can get O-rings at most auto parts store for a couple of bucks

I kept the driver's side air vent.

@@spudtak I installed the original plastic piece with the cable.

That's my approach. Easier that way.
Is there a possibility of rain water or wash water standing on top of the blockoff plate, or is there a drain tube?

Haven't gotten that far on the Pony.

I did. But it didn’t have the bigger rings for some reason.
