The more I listen to Amy Grant's interviews and hear her stories, I think, "I want to be her friend". She is so incredible. So real and authentic. What a joy to listen to her.
After listening to this so many things come to mind. My life had been so difficult so many times through out my life. My biggest thing recently is care giver burn out with my 16 yr old severe special needs son. But that walk and struggle every day.... has me so close to God's grace and mercy......with my arms raised and my heart open. God bless
I am grateful for this conversation. The women, their lives, their faith journey and their truths. I dont know what brought me too this interview, but I will be thinking about it a long time.
I remember being 19 and sitting in front of the stereo and singing her songs over and over.. sometimes not even able to get the words out without crying. I even got to sing Breath of Heaven at church for Christmas one yr. Amy is my FAVORITE singer of all time. Xo 💜
Amy's music comforted me and gave me hope when I was widowed at 30. I had two young children who were 7 years & 9 months old. They loved Amy's music also and 37 years later we still do.
Get a grip... her comforting music that actually pointed someone to Christ was over 40 years ago. She lost her message when she had to have Vince. Sorry... she's fake as the day is long.
Great interview! I met Amy in the early eighties while dating one of her musicians who first told me about Adam and Eve and when I accepted God into my life and her music has resonated through my whole life. I now after nearly 35 years later have gotten closer to God than ever. Thank you Amy for your beautiful music! And thank you sister this interview! God bless
I've listened to Amy Since she was a very young woman. I've never enjoyed an interview with her quite as much as enjoy this one. I think being married to Vince has made her more relaxed and comfortable. She laughs so much more.
O my gosh Amy.. I always say that same thing to people when I tell them I grew up in a Baptist church. We went to Church.. Sunday morning Sunday night, We’d night and anything in between. I’m grateful for it !
I have always loved Amy Grant she was my daughter‘s favorite musician when she was growing up I lost her to cancer in 2014 and at her memorial I played a lot of Amy Grant songs every time I hear Amy sing. I think of how much my daughter Jackie loved her I remember she went to one of her concerts when she was in her teens she was 47 when she died but I know that she’s in heaven and probably still singing Amy Grant songs.
What a lovely conversation, thank you for sharing! I'm a couple years younger than Amy but have been listening to her since I was 15!! We've been on a parallel spiritual journey together through all of lifes ups and downs. Love her to pieces.....
~ Same here Mary!! I've been a tremendous fan if Amy's going on 40+ years. I'm 63 😊🙏 And I agree she's been such a significant part of my life in the good times....and the tough times.. .but Amy's music ministry has helped me to celebrate a milestone or lifted me up when i've lost a loved one....and been the background music while decorating our Christmas tree and baking goodies for family and friends. She's like a best friend i've had 3/4ths of my life ...yet we never met. I've been to countless of her concerts in 40+ years and was just thrilled to be in the same building with her. And the outdoor concert at an amphitheater I saw one year that was at night...it was so beautiful under the stars and hearing her sing. I would be thrilled to ever meet her of course. But she's still a best friend and touched my life with her music.....the Christian genre and Christmas music about the birth of Christ are my favorite. "Heirlooms" has always been my favorite. So I know just how you feel Mary!! Isn't it wonderful that her music ever crossed our path in life?!! 😊 I absolutely love this interview with Amy. She's such a great inspiration and a wonderful story teller. While Amy is healing from her bike accident a few months ago. Her and Vince and others in their family were at the Ryman Auditorium....and their youngest daughter Corrina Grant Gill sang "When My Mama Prays" .....in place of "When My Amy Prays".....and it just gave that song a whole new meaning in so many ways. One, after following Amy 40+ years i know her steadfast faith and i know how powerful prayer is. Two,my mother passed away three years ago last month ,I miss so many things about her,but I really miss my mama's prayers, not having them anymore makes me feel so vulnerable and less protected in this world. And boy does Corrina have an absolutely stunning and beautiful voice....incredible. I wish they would release that song as a single or on a future album because it's amazing. I was in tears listening to it watching her sing about her sweet mama praying....and I was also thinking about my sweet mother when she would pray for me. It was such a blessing to hear. And I pray for Amy to make a complete recovery from her injuries and to take her time and heal like needed and when she's ready to get back out there and sing,we'll be there for like we always have. But it needs to be in her time, not ours. What's most important is complete healing. I'm glad Vince is by her side to help her through it and I know her and God got this and all will turn out just fine. Just takes a little time 😊🙏🎶
I'm recovering from neck and spine surgery and "I stumbled" upon this video; what a refreshing interview and introduction to your ministry. I grew up in Pennsylvania and was part of a family/group of people who started a Southern Baptist Church in a Pennsylvanian town. My dad always said that I was like a Baptist nun - I wanted more of God than most kids my age. Now, as a 67 year old widow, I still have the longings for the "something more." I really enjoyed and appreciated this conversation. Thank you both.
I so enjoyed listening to this conversation ladies….. as a believer I love hearing others talk about their walk with Christ. I also loved the quote “God writes straight the crooked lines of our life’s.”
I was truly moved by your conversation. The backstory to the Raised Hands and the youth pastor was just incredible... and the story of the HEART! Wow- I always sang in choirs but too shy to sing solo, but always loved to sing. Later in life after a surgery, I couldn’t stand for a long worship so I briefly attended a small country church while healing. There I sang several solos, one being Breath of Heaven, at Christmastime. I brought my pencil sketch picture of Jesus with crown of thorns from home and placed it on the piano, and a young mother let me borrow a pacifier which I hung with a ribbon over the picture edge...to visually connect the expectant Mary to the Lamb of God. I’ll have to say it was a hit. The church had a good bass sound so that first intro was powerful. We had lunch afterwards and everyone was talking about it. God moved on all of us. That song is so powerful, the parallels to the Christian walk are unmistakable. Thank you both for your stories I much enjoyed being here. ♥️
my aunt was a cloister nun. she passed before Amy's songs were on the charts. from what i was told. my aunt prayed all day. only meet her once. it was restricted to see her by the church. she would have liked Amy's music. i pray for the souls of the fatefully departed by the mercy of God. rest in peace
Amy's wisdom?? She's a husband stealer... sorry. She's not a genuine person. She now stands with the LGBTQ... because she now has people in her family that are openly gay... and she hosted a wedding on her own property for this wedding. Oh.. so her wisdom is just so prevalent in that scenario. Good grief.

Obviously the interview was taken in the living room of Amy and Vince ‘s home. Who else would have this many acoustic and electric guitars hanging up on the walls (outside of a guitar store) LOL amazing. I got clued in when the cat and the dog made their entrance LOL fabulous who doesn’t love Amy Grant?
The mind is a wonderful thing. I have been a fan of Amy Grant from her start and followed her musical career loosely. Here is the strangest memory. In the early 1970's our high school football team played the new McGavock High school. While walking across the driving range after the ball game, I picked up a ball with JOE TAGGART printed on it. (The ground was covered with them.) I have always wondered who Joe was. The stories we will all get to share with each other in heaven. It will take eternity.
'We want unity to be like-mindedness, we want unity to be sameness, "feel about this the way I feel about this"...and really, unity is the freedom to share our differences with each other in a setting of compassion. Because we all benefit from a broader perspective.' Beautifully said, Amy.
This testimony is for you ,, in the last days of her life when dementia was at a place that she didn't know her own .. there was a pastor that came and prayed by her bedside on his knees with grease all over himself for he was a mechanic... and a woman who had came by and give her an invite to be her guest to go to the women's Christmas event at there church... it so so so touched her heart ♥ that when nothing she SHOULD HAVE remembered was , BUT instead it was the kind hearts 💕 that SO TOUCHED her heart THAT SHE " REMEMBERED " every time ...
😂❤✨💫🤗I love these women. Keeping the Faith. I still believe in Him. Edit: Grateful for the man whose actions in July changed my Life. My pain led me here in October 💔♥️✨💫
When all the negativity in the world gets you down, listen to Amy Grant. You will hear the simple, loving everlasting truth. Its foundation is in her faith.
@@vincegill6632 Thanking GOD for you and Amy always! Keep making music and being the example that America so desperately needs. Blessings on you and your family, amen.
Thank God she dresses still like a nun, some churches, some nuns look like ordinary people. I find it better to know that nuns should dress like nuns. It’s important to stand out from the crowd, in order for people to see you devoted to Jesus and follow Him in a way that separates us from who are truly called by God.
I was born to non-functional family. My fathert was a drunk. My mother sat on the barstool next to him, but she never let me miss a meal. So, I don't understand religion. I believe in GOD, but his video warms my soul!

15:33 Hallelujah ! Yes, never doubt that the spirit of man, though it be limited in it's expression by the physical body which holds it in bondage while here on earth, can cry out to God from whence it came none the less fully aware of all its surroundings regardless of how it may appear to those of us whose eyes cannot see through that veil which, for a time, separates us from the infinite.

@@corrinagrantgill3236 I'm glad to hear you're proud of him, I'd think that would be easy. I've never heard anything but good stuff about Vince. And his candor and kindness seems to radiate when he's on stage or interviewed, etc. I never met him but had a friend that went to HS school with him. After he left OKC I kinda lost track but after 'When I call your name" hit early 80's he was hard to miss and I got all the albums. The emotion he is able to invoke in his songs regardless of the style is a real gift few have in my opinion. I'm a picker and he's a monster picker so there is that. ... and the boy sings kinda good up high too...LOL. I think the recent song about your mom praying says it all.

*THE IMMUTABLE LAW OF GOD* *I* I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods before me. *II* *Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; and shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments* *III* Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. *IV* Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. *V* Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee. *VI* Thou shalt not kill. *VII* Thou shalt not commit adultery. *VIII* Thou shalt not steal. *IX* Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour. *X* Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's. So what king David stayed with bathsheba yes God forgave them they were sorry to God then to who got hurt they would repent for telling people they are justifying it no we do love each other but we were wrong to led the public astry and justify our actions before the Lord but there was no I was wrong to hurt my wife our children it was all yep we were married but no big deal. That's how it was on larry king it would be different of they didn't claim Jesus but they do do it's evil to say I'm for Jesus I love Jesus but we didn't do anything wrong by hurting our ex spouses and king David stopped justifing it and was broken they would be apologizing for a tv because people are seeing their bad witness. Thank you, Amy and I treasure the times we have together. And we approached this as inviting you into the conversation.
I lost count of the # of Grammy awards, too.
Thanks for the love and support

The mind is a wonderful thing. I have been a fan of Amy Grant from her start and followed her musical career loosely. Here is the strangest memory. In the early 1970's our high school football team played the new McGavock High school. While walking across the driving range after the ball game, I picked up a ball with JOE TAGGART printed on it. (The ground was covered with them.) I have always wondered who Joe was. The stories we will all get to share with each other in heaven. It will take eternity.
Wow--that is really a small world. If you explore on this TH-cam channel--I interviewed him.

'We want unity to be like-mindedness, we want unity to be sameness, "feel about this the way I feel about this"...and really, unity is the freedom to share our differences with each other in a setting of compassion. Because we all benefit from a broader perspective.'
Beautifully said, Amy.
This was so poignant, I wrote it down.

She is such an amazing human being!!! Such an inspiring interview!

Thank God she dresses still like a nun, some churches, some nuns look like ordinary people. I find it better to know that nuns should dress like nuns. It’s important to stand out from the crowd, in order for people to see you devoted to Jesus and follow Him in a way that separates us from who are truly called by God.
Thank you--it is a blessing to wear the habit--a good remember to me that I belong to God.

Love Amy, but she takes forever to tell a story. Still worth it to hear the story of Vince writing the song about Amy.
Who is The Patron Saint of Spain?
So Amy is a devoted Christian and a roll model for " the religious world". 🤔!

*THE IMMUTABLE LAW OF GOD*
*I* I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
*II* *Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; and shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments*
*III* Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

"You want real belonging? Let your need show."
Sin has a ripple effect
Take a look in the mirror. Your life is far from perfect, Creston. God is our judge. Only God can forgive sin.
I've also felt these reservations and frustrations. These things matter.
Huh?
@@kathykb8123 I said what I said. God is our only judge. The sooner Christians learn this, the better the world will be. Before removing the splinter out of your neighbor's eye, pull out the log from yours first. Want me to quote I Corinthians 13 regarding love?
