Wow! Thank you for including everyone in this adventure! You have some absolute diamonds there. Your passion for motorcycles and life in general is uplifting. You're appreciated
That Husky is a keeper. When I was a kid my buddies would go out to Malcolm Smith's first motorcycle shop, K&N, just to look at the bikes and get stickers from the guys working there. Still have the genuine Malcolm Smith Gold Medal stickers. He later opened a shop called Malcolm Smith Motorcycles in Riverside, Ca. The first bike I got from his shop was a YZ80. I eventually got sponsored by Malcolm. My parents knew the service and sales managers.
Wow! Nice job. I was looking at the auction and wish I knew about it earlier. The prices were pretty amazing for a collector. I signed up, but this was the one not to miss. I’m happy though that you were able to clean up on these gems Ken.
Triumph made the T110 model which was called the Tiger 110 which may explain the decal on that one in your vid..It was the single carb version of the T120 Bonnie.
Restore um Kaplan America! Looking forward to seeing videos of them all (and maybe purchasing one?)... Thanks for making this cool film. It's great to see all the old timers together reminiscing - Ken and the MOTOCROSS WARRIORS!
I bid on some of those, but I got the Harley. Glad you got there in person and we got so see more of the story. I bought the Cooper too, I know they're not much but I wanted the history.
All those bikes are absolute time machines. If I had to pick one, it'd be the Yamaha 360 MX. My uncle had a 360 Enduro he take for rides through the orchards and fields. You are the Time Machine King! Thanks much!
Congrats bro on a good score! That RT-1 looks like it has an aftermarket head on it! Soo fun to be involved in motorcycles and motocrossers, both the bikes and the people!
Wow. What a great bunch of bikes! Thanks for sharing the video. You even had Jim Meenan stop by, very cool! I used to race with Jack in the 80's and didn't know about his collection until the auction. Very cool and I hope he did well for retirement's sake. Did you buy any Penton's? Will be in CT this weekend and would love to stop at the museum to see these beauties in person. 👍
What a collection Ken ! I started riding in 1973..............Yamaha person. I was wowed at the RT1 MX. Rickman Metisse, wow ! You got a Bul too Ken ! Is it a Lobito 175 or the Pursang 250 ? Great ! Trinidad & Tobago. West Indies.

Taking a road trip with Ken Kaplan and Billy amazing people. Amazing motorcycles. Jack's collection is amazing. Safe trips home sir😮😮😮 Ken, was that a picture of you in the sport? Illustrated
Wow. So many beautiful scoots!!! Would love to throw a leg over that KTM 495..... but I'm sure that I would hurt myself at this stage in my life. 😂😂😂😂🇺🇸🇺🇸🦅🦅
I raced a DT 125 R in the Sportsman class....here i Ireland we NEVER had that nonsense EPA 2-stroke ban that you guys in the states had.. you can still buy a street legal 2-Stroke over here
Great score! How much did the 76 CCM go for? There probably only 7-10 of those in the entire US. I have my dads he purchased new and I’ve gotten offers of over $30k from overseas buyers.
Something caught my eye, even though I have been out of the motocross world for decades, I don't remember an air cooled YZ 125 from that era, with the chain on the right side. So I looked online, and still can't find any examples?
@@KaplanCycles , oh- I saw the plaque that said 90-91. Okay, yeah- '88 was the last year that all full sized CR's came with conventional forks. Hope you're all doing great! God bless!
If anyone is interested? I know where there is one of these 80’s KTM 495 world’s fastest dirt bike. A close friend of mine owns it and he’s probably willing to part with it? It ran great then has been parked (inside) for the last 20 years or so? Definitely needs to be restored.
KEN ATTENTION!!!!!!!!, THAT BLACK RT1 360 WITH THE BASSANNI PIPE HAS AN EXTREMELY RARE HIGH COMPRESSION HEAD ON IT, I HAVE ONE ON MY 360 AND HAVE ONLY SEEN 3 OTHERS IN MY LIFE, SO FYI.......
The pipe on the Black 360 is a factory RT1 MX pipe, not a Bassani. The head is aftermarket, several companies made them, looks like it may be a 'T & M'.
Maybe its just a culturle thing but i think its only in America that the Z in "YZ" is pronounced as "zee"....in the rest of the world it's pronounced "Zed"
WOW!! Thank you for sharing these vids, we would never have got to see that collection of bikes if you didn't show us!!!!! Totally Amazing 💯

He had an amazing collection. It really pays off in the end to know how to paint good and love motorcycles.
The 1982 1982 1982 RM is just BEAUTIFUL

Great stuff. Great channel. Great work.
Many thanks
Thank you too!
Hopefully you guys at the museum keep all those bikes the way Jack did them since you and Billy know how much work he out into them
Every time I watch, I see "new" old stuff, fantastic!
Triumph made the T110 model which was called the Tiger 110 which may explain the decal on that one in your vid..It was the single carb version of the T120 Bonnie.
I think it was also a reference to the mph

Jeff Glass gave the best interviews.
Just an amazing collection ,and the bikes you bought awesome ,!! but just a little heads up the RM you bought is an 83 , not an 82 , love that bike!

I promise i wont remove the ABBY from the TZ
Jimmy Meenan wow , lm from lN & knew of how fast he was by reading race results in Cycle News back in our youth , 70's/80's .
It is crazy how slow the evolution of motorcycles has evolved.
Interesting that the Surf team Honda CR has conventional forks on it when they were already coming with USD forks stock from the factory by that time.
