    That Yamaha IT125 is a very rare bike. I bought a new 1977 IT175 back in the day from Ray Fine Yamaha in Chickasha OK. The whole IT series is just a blast to ride!

    Pipe Fix. I have worked on a lot of stuff in my life and I learned that it you do something new the first time, and it comes out good, it is probably a pretty good process.
    For pipes that are not chromed. I sealed the ends of the pipe and with a tire pump, pumped about 30psi of air into the pipe. Then I simply used a propane torch in one hand, (it was hot enough to move the thin metal, but some may not be.), and a wet rag, neatly folded in the other hand. Heat up the dent. When it starts turning red, it will start to move out, (blow out), but it should be fairly slow. Slow enough to easily stop the movement in it's tracks by wiping the wet rag over it. Just repaint the pipe when you are done. It amazed me how well it turned out the first time I did it, (as a kid), and the only time I did it.

    • @donkeyballs3307
      @donkeyballs3307 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      20 years & older ,they stop making new parts ,so a 35-40 year old bike is an adventure just to find good used parts, there's only 30 million people in Canada 🇨🇦, not 300 + million like our neighbors

    That Yz175 is awesome! Mine was basically a parts bike. I've been collecting parts for 5 years to finish it. Parts are expensive and rare, especially when it comes to the parts that only fit a yz175, like the pipe, cylinder, head and engine cases. Over $10k spent fast and its not even close to being done. I mean really , when I was a kid I remember my neighbor rolling out his KX 420 . I’d say it was a 1980 or 81 and going to the Yamaha and seeing all the YZ bikes when they was still yellow but I’ve always loved the CR’s and XR’s in the mid 80’s and a lot of those bikes I day dreamed about in elementary school I might not have ever seen again if it wasn’t for Kaplin America.
      Thanks Ken for always taking me back in time. You probably have no idea how much I appreciate seeing my youth on two wheels again because those were some of my fondest memories as a kid.Thanks Ken

    I had an 84 RM 125 can an engine was built by Mac it was 30 over and cut the race gas when he says the bike will haul the mail he's not lying! One of the strongest bikes I've ever owned! 125 or not and I ride a CR 13:53 500af today! One thing about that RM the way my bike was set up there was no lower Med it was all upper Midland High it went ahead it was like a freight train!

    13:50 You can treat faded plastics with a mixture of lacquer thinner and linseed oil. Brush it on, let soak, repeat, buff/surface-treat, voila.
    Unyellowed and unfaded. The silhouettes left by the stickers will fade.

    • @stmboat
      @stmboat ปีที่แล้ว

      I just checked the thickness of the plastic on a clarke 4.0g xr65L tank, measured out to .167" so theres plenty of material.
      So, after the mixture exfoliates brittle, sun damaged strands of polymer, and you can you basically just scrape it off with a blade, gently of course. Then blend with high grit paper and buff.
      IMO this DOES affect the "originality" of the manufactured motorcycle, you have to have some metrics. But this is great for a bike you want to keep for yourself.
