- In this quick lesson video we explore the relationship between the major pentatonic scale, the minor pentatonic scale, and the blues scale. We also look at how the same notes take on different intervallic relationships between the relative major and minor pentatonic scales.
NOTE: At 02:47 I'm talking about relative Major & Minor Pentatonic having the same notes in them!

Great video and still googly-eyed over your guitar 😍
Thanks! I LOVE this guitar - it’s so much fun to play 🤘 excited to take it to a jam soon!
Great lesson it got you a new Subscriber.
Thanks for the kind words and subscribing! I’m glad you enjoyed my video 🤘
Is it fair to say that where you can play a pentatonic scale you can substitute it for its blues scale version and vice versa ?
Extremely fair to say! The blues scale just adds one additional note to the pentatonic scale and that note is more of a passing note (not one that you’d typically emphasize or end a phrase on) so it’s fair game and interchangeable!
@@ChristopherBeanMusicThanks for the clarification! Was just playing and trying emphasize the blues note. Felt it sounded out of place. I now know why 😅.
