I've unfortunately been unable to patch the public release version from the patreon after hours of trying and downloading all different kinds of Japanese isos and even english patched isos and the command prompt always tells me that it can't find KH2FM.iso even though its in the same folder. Renaming the iso doesn't work and the tutorial video just doesn't help at all. I think I'll settle for watching your vids on the mod. This looks so good.

that is probably the coolest fucking thing ive ever seen in a kh2 mod it's pretty much as accurate as you could get to the source material and it has its own flair on top of it 1000/10 so badass
Man, seeing the dark portal as the save point made me wonder what kind of potential we could have seen if Days had been built on KH2's engine the same way Majora's Mask was built on Ocarina of Time's.
It was like a childhood dream to be able to play Roxas dual bladed, and I enjoyed 358/2 days just because of that. This is gonna be epic. Looking forward to this more than that one Project Aqua mod.

@@axinhedgelion8417I disagree. Beating these games at Level 1 really makes you appreciate the game mechanics that you might otherwise ignore when playing normally. Like, I never used Summons, but playing at Level 1 made me realize how useful they can be. I typically just combo enemies like it's a Hack 'n Slash game, but when you die in 2-3 hits, you have to play strategically and defensively.
@@MegaManXPoweredUp Yep. Leveled Crit in 2FM starts hard but by the time you get halfway thru first visits the game becomes braindead mashable like every other difficulty. I was pretty intimidated by the idea of a LV1 run for the longest time, thinking it'd be impossibly hard and I couldn't live without certain abilities, then one day I just dived in and now I pretty much exclusively do LV1 when I replay 2FM. It's nice that the story bosses and mob encounters become an actual challenge, instead of your only challenge being data fights and CoR like on leveled Crit. And as you said, the added difficulty really pushes you to utilize every mechanic to actually succeed. So many fun summons and party member limits that see barely any use in other difficulties become heavily incentivized parts of your toolkit, it becomes very satisfying when you learn to work everything in and it pays off. That feeling of becoming better at the game is way more valuable than any of the tertiary benefits you gain from level-ups IMO. Like yeah having Fire Boost, Leaf Bracer, Item Boost, and whatever is cool but you learn to live without them pretty quickly. Calling LV1 runs "stupid" like @axinhedge because it "means less abilities" is a pretty narrow way of looking at things. And as for NMC, LV1 is the way to go if you want that authentic Devil May Cry experience. Your combo potential is pretty heavily nerfed if you kill everything way too quickly. There's a reason nobody plays DMC on Easy or Normal difficulty past the first playthru; everything dies too quickly for you to pull off lengthy stylish combos.

Gotta love game modding, where if you work really, insanely hard at it, you can convert a game to let you play as a different character with four different movesets, add in an entirely new world, several new environments, some new enemies, and a hidden value that keeps track of your combo and gives the player a style meter... but making the magic menu remember where your cursor is is literally impossible.
This is such a neat mod! I love seeing the days keyblades again, and would really love a proper 3d leviathan model. That's my favorite keyblade, and it's really hard to work with
I'm starting to think that what I want from KH is vastly different from what others want (I wanna see more of the RPG actually matter again), But this mod fucking slaps. I think it's cool that it takes inspiration from DMC, but still feels like a KH game in the way you perform attacks
This is beyond the flashiness of any KH game, maybe even any DMC game. As a fan of both I’m honestly having trouble seeing where the DMC influences are beyond having Enemy Step and Taunt. There’s a lot of gliding around the arenas during attacks and big crazy area clearers which aren’t really exemplary of Devil May Cry with its very intimate attacks and movement, I definitely wouldn’t see Dante or Vergil sliding around so smoothly. Don’t get me wrong, they can clear ground like nobody’s business, but it’s more like super rapid stop-and-go for them rather than what’s here
It's the moves themselves. The movement is still very much KH movement. A lot of the magic attacks are based off DMC attacks (Fire is Stinger/Air Stinger, Thunder is divekick, Blizzard is Round Trip, etc), as well as certain form attacks (obviously JCE but also the final form equivalent has Summon Swords).
This looks sick as all hell man! And it's neat that Roxus has his own limits, and drive forms. Though I hope more are added instead of him just having 2. Speaking of Drive forms I personally like the No Blade one, I just like it's move set more.
Roxas is my favorite video game character and dmc is one of my favorite franchises (minus kh obvious) this is one of the best thing to go to bed too I love this (im only seeing this now cause of work)

there should be 2 org 13 moogle mods. one that puts them in every world in kh2. and another one that has them only in the world that never was in dream drop distance.
I would love to have fun playing as Roxas for once. Normal KH2 was with just the beginning abilities, days was a game only child me could find fun, and remind was nice but too restrictive.
Him saying “This could’ve been the other way around but it really has to be you” implies that he could take control back at ANYTIME but chooses not to because he knows Sora has to be the one to handle these situations.
This mod looks like an undertaking of many years, and I wouldn't be surprised (nor is it anything bad) if those involved wish to move on to entirely unrelated pursuits or take a break from the field afterwards.
the only thing this mod needed was a devil trigger like state where roxas transforms like the other nobody bosses in the series, like xion, marluxia or xemnas. Kinda weird the game did that to only those three and never again with the other organization members! Anyway, it's an incredibly cool mod! Can't wait to see what future versions are gonna ad to the mix!
