Yes he does. Too much in fact, I believe. He's good as a back-up vocalist, but nothing special. It's just that he's an awesome guy.
That's because his former bandmates choose nepotism over him. Had to make room for Wolfie. Only thing that Eddie and Valerie forgot to produce was a lead singer. Too bad Eddie can't get it up no more. Oh well, guess Wolfie is left to produce one. Can't wait to see whom he gets with to do so, nor for the pregnancy announcement. I'm sure the press is gonna be asking "is this one gonna be the new lead singer?"
... nor does Mike get proper due credit for his rock solid, bottom grounding bass playing and selection of notes that always kept that three-piece studio and live sound so damned tight and full. As far as I am concerned, Michael Anthony is as much Van Halen as Eddie or Alex. Unfortunately Eddie, at least at one time, became a petulant little control freak and had to have his way all of the time like some 16 year old school girl with no regard for anyone except himself. I hope Eddie pulled it together.
Although, don't know how true it is, but I understand Eddie isn't happy with Dave now because Dave isn't "grown-up" enough. He needs to settle into "looking his age" as well as "acting" his age or little Edward isn't going to be pleased with him for much longer either.
Screw that! Aging SUCKS enough without giving in to it's ravages so easily. If one can manage to stay younger looking and more important, live younger and maintain that child-like enthusiasm then why not! Ed... if true, you're becoming a whining, stick-in-the-mud. Lighten up man, and get your nose out of other people's personal business, People just want to rock and have fun, even if they are aging... freak boy!

Michael Anthony is as much Van Halen as you, and also helped contribute to your success and your wallet's size!!! Wolfgang, as nice of a kid as he apparently is, is NOT Van Halen when it comes to bass. Michael IS Van Halen... period!!!
If I've misjudged Eddie because of false reports then God forgive me, and I apologize to EVH twenty times over. However, if one or even two people say something it's one thing... but when you get multiple reports from multiple sources over a long period of time, well, I'm just saying'...

FWIW even taking that in to account, I will always love Sammy with Van Halen over Dave because from the age of 11 in 85 to 22 in 96 he was the voice of Van Halen, the one I grew up with. Still one hell of a band with either of those two.
Not really. Sam just sings about whatever happens to be “hip” at the time. There’s no consistent, genuine point of view with him. It’s all marketing. Which makes sense because he’s a businessman. Everything is made to sell. That’s why you have songs called Dreams and then The Dream is Over. You have Poundcake and then two tracks later Spanked. Good Enough then Not Enough. With Roth, you have a singular point of view and it speaks to an attitude. Goes way beyond good music. He’s a convicted artist who walks it like he talks it.

I had the privilege of meeting Sammy Hagar at Newark Airport a few years back. We were on same flight and was delayed by 3 hours. He was sitting next to my wife and I waiting like everyone else. He talked to everyone that approached him. I was able to speak to him just about life. Like I knew him for years and he knew me. Such a great guy and he certainly can still sing like I the 80s. Amazing! Probably the nicest celebrity I have meet to date. I've met quite a few over the years.

The Van Halen boys made some mistakes. Not sticking with the Van Hagar collaboration was by far the biggest. I've always liked both separately but Van Hagar was Van Halen at its best. I'm glad Sammy took Michael Anthony (my favorite member of Van Halen) and gave him the recognition he deserves.

The reality is that Sammy and Van Halen, by joining their paths, catapulted their careers to give us the great musical legacy that they have left us together. No one can really say for sure how the story would have been if they had taken different paths since success in music is not certain and many times it is ephemeral....

The outpouring support of other Musicians sending their Condolences on what Eddie meant to the world of Music. And how Van Halen inspired their own music Career. Very sure Eddie & his Father are catching up on old times upstairs. Even jamming tunes. Can Imagine Eddie's on Guitar while his Father's on Clarinet. Read that part when I had the CD of VH 2

You are the man Sammy. That Chickenfoot III album was great 13 yrs l8ter. I listened to it at least 20x mowing the lawn today. (April '24) That song "Something gone wrong" blew me away. I've probably listened to it 50x in a row. Y'all have to make a new album cause "We The People" need it. That band is something special for all of you. I think that song is some of your best work collectively.

I don't mean to say this to be rude or mean to Mona, cause she's a ass kicking band member, but, Michael is the one with the backing voice. Since the first time I seen VH in '79. I stood 10 feet in front of that left side stage speakers, and the blew my ear drums. It was the BEST! Michael was the backing voice, only backing voice! He has the harmony and voice pitch... I so much ENJOYED seeing them this past August at the Tulalip, north of Seattle. A really good show!!! Keep a Rock'n!
