@@DizzyJerk I get a lot of satisfaction from the experience of not remembering something and sending my little brain minions to work while I move on with my day/life. Eventually one of these minions pull the right file long after I’ve forgotten about it. They’re good dudes.
I seen them open for Bush. In all honesty I thought there live performance was better than Bush who was headlining. At least that night I seen them they were.
Veruca Salt has such an interesting and heartwarming back story; a tale of letting go of grudges, apologizing, and moving forward together. Friendship is rare.
In the early 2010's I often told my younger friends about how awesome Veruca Salt was, and how they missed out on their live performances. Then I heard Conan announce they had gotten back together and were going to appear on the show and got so hyped. I expected them to play brand new stuff here, so as soon as they played the opening to Seether, I was totally blown away! One of my favorite performances!
This is my first listen... So I read your comment, watched the clock count down, crossed my fingers, willing it to happen then at precisely 1:48... BOOM! It's absense was indeed absolutely ****** deafening! 🇬🇧🤣🇺🇲
I've seen a bunch of really great live performances on Conan, Letterman, and SNL. And thanks to TH-cam I can listen again and remain convinced they were great. But it really makes me wonder why bands tinker so with "live" albums. I don't know if you're all aware of this, and I just found out a few years ago myself, but very few live albums are really fully live. Most feature overdubs and splicing of different performances. Some, if you read about it, they're totally shameless. Half the parts or more were re-recorded in studio. I mean, I highly doubt there's time for any overdubbing of a talk show performance before it airs. And think of SNL! Those performances go out live. I had never heard Alabama Shakes until SNL. They sounded amazing. As does Veruca Salt here. That rhythm section (the original dudes!) kicks ass. Wouldn't you listen to a live album that sounded this good and no better? I sure would. I remember the Conan performance of "Wolf Like Me" by TV On The Radio, it was actually BETTER than the album. I got the record because of the live version and, while still a great song, it seemed kind of anodyne and overproduced in comparison. I don't get why bands don't just record something like this and release it. I saw a video of Arcade Fire at Glastonbury and it sounded amazing. I doubt there was any overdubbing. How could there have been? Why aren't recordings like this good enough for bands to release as their live recordings? I mean, yeah, you can tell it's live, the harmonies don't line up down to the exact millisecond, but who cares? Don't people want their live albums to sound live? I'm not talking about mixing. Obviously you're gonna wanna mix an album before releasing it. But overdubs and splicing, and straight up re-recorded parts, and calling that a "live" album? That's sickening. But apparently it's the norm. There's very few actually live live albums. Why??? This sounds amazing! Just do this!
im with you... thats why i started taping shows when i was a teenager. that way i can hear them back the way they were performed without any tinkering.
@live2cd Dude, that's so cool! I didn't even notice the channel name. I was just on a Veruca Salt kick this morning. I'm gonna subscribe and check out more of your stuff. Cool idea.
get the kids to school by 8 am..... pilates at 10 am..... lunch at 12pm..... p/u kids and get dinner ready by 5pm..... band carpools to gig and kicks ass by 7pm...... home by 10pm....... such the life of a 90's band in 2021....
good to see the original lineup. as for the comments on here messing up at the 2:00, it was still great and they pulled it off the way you should...keep going and dont acknowledge...besides only real fans noticed
Really one of the best songs, ever. Has to be. Certainly the best fret-squeak song ha ha. Not that there aren't others due respect but damn that's a great song and actually a great performance.
There are not a lot of artists where during my 62 years on this planet I bought a bands entire collection of music. VS is one of those bands that I did.
My favorite performance of this song, second only to Glastonbury '95. Both versions have a harder rock edge than even the original recording/video. The mix sounds pretty solid (except the reverb they put on Nina during the chorus--why?), and everyone looks like they're having a blast!
A grunge band with all of its members still alive and performing today is a rare sight
It's whats happen when you are a heroin instead of injecting it.
What about seether?
What about pearl jam and silverchair?
this was from 9 years before you posted your comment...
Silverchair? Daniel Johns is sort of alive
God damnit it makes me happy that Nina and Louise have put their differences behind them. Life is too short. Love this band!
Same. As a child of the 80's/90's this was a badass performance.
@@DizzyJerk I get a lot of satisfaction from the experience of not remembering something and sending my little brain minions to work while I move on with my day/life. Eventually one of these minions pull the right file long after I’ve forgotten about it. They’re good dudes.
@@dBro4769 Of course they have put aside their differences. They are evil piece of crap crazy women , idiot moron.
This riff kills, in 1995 or 2020 does not matter.
Still on rotation and people still singing along in 2024, enduring to say the least.
Yeah, it's pretty timeless, man.
Hard to believe these two ladies were apart for almost two decades !!!###
Damn, they sound amazing! One of the more underrated bands of the 90’s still kicking ass!
Saw them open for Nirvana. I want to go back there.
awesomeeee!!!
I seen them open for Bush. In all honesty I thought there live performance was better than Bush who was headlining. At least that night I seen them they were.
Saw a show where them and shonen knife were opening for sonic youth it was awesome.
@@scotthill1728 I saw Bush by chance in Italy when they were unknown. Honestly, they sucked. I've never understood how they could become so huge.
I saw them open for Līve, along with PJ Harvey. What a bill.
All the Essence of the 90´s in one band..... Nina, Louise, Jim & Steve We Miss you!!!! Please Tour Again!!!!!
Veruca Salt has such an interesting and heartwarming back story; a tale of letting go of grudges, apologizing, and moving forward together. Friendship is rare.
The absolute unmistakable vocals of Nina and Louise.
Love this band and song. Long live the 90’s!
Holy crap, they sound great still.
Expensive electronics
This was 9 years ago.

They can still make their guitars screech in all the right places.👍
The song still gives me chills!
Still love this song, guitar riffs are the 90s through and through.
1:48 the pain of missing the crash cymbal is unbeatable, especially live
He seemed to find it amusing 😆
I think Louise got the lyrics wrong there also.
I thought I was the only one who caught that!!
*_Nice catch. Drummer is LHAO afterward. 👍🎸_*

This is Great!!!! Each members sound is evenly prominent. The guitars, bass and the drums. What a Jam! Excellent live performance!
Yes
20 years later and they're ON POINT
Wow after all these years they still rock !
Real joy on all their faces, awesome to see. The drummer kicks ass.
So bad ass to see Jim on drums.
He's definitely hitting those drums in anger here.
I love it when he misses a crash hit..his sticks stumble. But he smiles and chuckles. But he keeps pushing forward. 🤘🏼
@@HLinc. I noticed that too.
Luv these ladies!
And Gibson SGs for the win!
This song is one of those which you definitely need to play only by doing downstrokes on guitar. It gives more power to the song
Great song and I'm happy their still doing it!!!
It's beautiful. They did Glastonbury and were great, then had kids. Many years later, they are still best friends.
I love this band. Gritty, raw...and powerful.
Jim still has has same energy on drums!
dude is a beast
Crazy that he never played before Veruca Salt. He learned drums because Nina (his sister) needed someone for the band.
Yeah and if he could actually keep time he'd be perfect,.
Wow. 6 years ago. I hope there is a new EP or LP or some U.S. concerts coming one day.
So glad they were able to come together to give us that album & tour.
I've been watching this everyday for the last month! They killed this! So good!
Great mix and guitar tones.
Holy fkn badass how did I miss this
They still kick ass... always have, always will. i send out my love and childhood nostalgia to the smashing pumpkins and veruca salt.
I'm late to this video but holy hell!Nina and Louise Forever 💘
Excellent. So cool to see them again, been awhile.
Still sounds pretty good after all these years
Excellent performance!!
As a huge fan, it's just awesome to see them back together and clearly enjoying themselves.
Veruca Salt IS rock and roll. Keeping it alive and well!
That performance was amazing. Great band. Please tour (when the world returns)!
man, song really takes me back. i loved their come-back. hot moms. i love the dual-vocals.
This whole album was pretty friggin' good and their harmonies were so good on it.
2024 and I still love this song, saw Veruca Salt perform around 2008 but not the original lineup so wasn't the same.
One of the greatest riff in rock history. Love this band. Their story of forming is fascinating.

They jam!
I would love to play bass in this band! Veruca Salt has always had such a killer sound.
Did Volcano Girls on four string with a pretty awesome band years back- never failed to get the crowd going!
this sounds amazing!!! Way to go ladies.
They sound freaking amazing
Louise...imagine being the subject of one of the best rock songs EVER made.
The bass is so good on this!
These two were so amazing back in the day. It was a real bummer they fell out because they were creating some fantastic music.

Классная вещь. В молодости полюбил эту команду.
I always loved this song, even though I didn't understand it
That was brilliant...they sound better than ever!!!
Great to see and hear that the bassist finally learned to play. Great job mate!
Thanks for helping name one of my all time fave bands, Seether! 🤘❤️
Muy hermoso, me encantó, saludos desde Uruguay
Makes me so happy to see 2 beautiful women keep it real for so long. Rock on 🤘

This is as good as it gets totally awesome
Woow.

I saw them live in the 90's at MTL Spectrum .... EPIC!
Song still kicks everyones ass today.
Yes sir.
Hell yeah. Still soo damm awesome.

such great role models to next generations of female musicians.
Still as awesome as ever❤
I feel like I'm back in high school again.
Damn they look good and sound good!
this was 10 years ago, but yeah they did.
10 years later and intelligent late night hosts are a distant memory !!!###
Saw them open for Bush in 97. It was a great show.
Yes it was :)
Thanks for uploading this! They still sound awesome. Also, I didn't realize how tall Conan is...
Yeah, he's 6'4" so Nina must be in the 5'-5'3" range.
Glad to see these girls and this band still rock'n!
Really one of the best songs, ever. Has to be. Certainly the best fret-squeak song ha ha. Not that there aren't others due respect but damn that's a great song and actually a great performance.
The only other band from Chicago besides SP that had a song with a grunge type hit. Then they disappeared.
I saw them live in high school! God...that was what? 30 years ago!?
Hermosas....las veo después de tanto tiempo!!!!HERMOSAS!!!!!
There are not a lot of artists where during my 62 years on this planet I bought a bands entire collection of music. VS is one of those bands that I did.
God Love this band. Old or new stuff. Genius lyrics..
The Seether is Louise!!!
Flawless performance!!!!
Does that mean both "Seether" (I've heard that too) and "Everlong" are both written about Louise?
My favorite performance of this song, second only to Glastonbury '95. Both versions have a harder rock edge than even the original recording/video. The mix sounds pretty solid (except the reverb they put on Nina during the chorus--why?), and everyone looks like they're having a blast!
that glastonbury performance is a freaking masterpiece
Agreed - Glastonbury 1995 rocks to no fucking end...my favorite performance...
Yes
well I guess I know what I'm watching next
Ya that version was amazing
Better now than back then! Tighter over all drummer is bad assssss
Nice band. I love 79.
Still amazing, still hot as hell
Still holds up after all this time.
Nina still looks and sounds amazing!
Nothing changed! Still ripped it! Wow! Awesome job!
Love this band and this song... awesome!
That verse riff... tight!!!❤
Saw them live at Riveria Theater in 1995. Knew Nina way before VS when she was working at Utrecht's.
I had a crush on Post when I was 15. And 30 years later she is still gorgeous. I had good taste.
Absolutely! She’s still stunningly beautiful.
And she just released a solo album too, btw!
