There was (is?) a long-running live Saturday night pop-music show on BBC in the UK, who traditionally tried to have the #1 charted artist each week perform. They also had a tradition of making groups lip-sync and censor lyrics, which some had flagrantly called-out (I think Sweet's drummer started "drumming" with his hands during their performance). Anyway, one week, the guest was Rage. They tried to get RATM to censor "Killing in The Name".
It went about as well as you might expect.

Prophets of Rage is the supergroup, DJ Lord, Chuck D, B-Real, and all three members of Rage besides Zac. Which is kinda funny, because both supergroups formed from Rage had the entire group together just with some other vocalist, the other being Audioslave with Chris Cornell. But now that they've gotten back together with Zac, Prophets of Rage is disbanded.
I heard this story about this song from Tom Morello's show on satellite radio. This song was originally just an instrumental that they used to check their sound set up, but when they were recording their first album, Zac came in and said that he wanted to do some lyrics over it. So they're jamming out while he's freestyling this, and a record label rep comes in to watch them. And Zac is screaming "FUCK YOU I WON'T DO WHAT YOU TELL ME" while looking straight into the mans face. Once they finished the song, the guy was just like "So uh... this is the direction we're going in?"

Tom Morellos new album comes out Oct15th!!! You guys should absolutely give it a listen/reaction when it comes out! Him and Bruce Springsteen and Eddie Vedder remade Highway To Hell on this album (available to listen to now btw. But i thought it might be cool if yall gave a listen to some of the new new off this album as well)

Public Enemy with Chuck D and Flavor Flav (and the S1W's) we're always one of my favorites. Maybe you could check out "she watch Channel Zero" from Public Enemy. Really any song off the first album. If you want one where Flavor Flav is rapping you could do "cold lampin with flavor".

True story, this song was released in 1992 but was Christmas number one selling record in the UK in 2009 specifically to tell Simon Cowell "Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me motherfucker" and prevent his talent show pop star for that year from winning.

  • @malcolmbell5266

a few years ago we got so pissed of with the x factor and sort of mindless television show that a campaign started to get this to the Christmas number one...... it worked!

This what we need now, we need people to stand up to the abuse and power hungry machine. No violence, but it's been years since everyone has came together to make a change. I think it might be time to stop being consumed and lied by media. If we wait till we are personally affected, it might be too late.

Cool story. that guy you saw jumped onto the crowd, was being held by the security guard. Then you see Zack tell the guard to stop harassing the kids, let them jump. It's the whole base of the song.
