What happened is that the British public got tired of whoever winning the xfactor inevitably getting to the Xmas number one. So this whole thing of getting this song to number one instead began, and actually achieved knocking off whoever won the show that year to the number two spot. I love seeing the reactions of people hearing this song for the first time. They quickly get into the bass rhythm, head nodding...then those first lyrics hit and the head nodding stops as they listen...then BOOM! They are into it. It makes me happy seeing stuff like this.
This song was written nearly 28 years ago about white supremacy, institutional racism and corrupt police in the wake of the brutal beating of Rodney King and subsequent police acquittal. Feels like it could have been written yesterday.
I’d say it’d be partially misdirected. I don’t think it’s a race issue at all. It’s a government and class issue. The police are corrupt no doubt but the media would have us focus on the racial aspect to keep people divided instead of united against the corrupt state.
Freddy Jones Who said racism doesn’t exist? Everyone is a little racist. It’s human nature. All humans inherently fear what they don’t understand. My point is that there isn’t some systematic oppression solely on the basis of race, it’s so much more than that. Race is used as a tool to keep us divided so we’re too busy fighting amongst ourselves to see the true oppression is those with power and money vs the rest of us. They literally run the fucking system. They’ve imprisoned everyone in different ways. The key is to keep us divided politically, racially, through religion etc. Don’t play their game man. I have no hatred for you. As far as I’m concerned we’re all brothers and sisters of one race the HUMAN race.

This album (self titled) is one of the best albums of all time, very unique in its time, all the tracks are fire from beginning to end, very iconic and influential. Some of my other favorites from this album are "Know Your Enemy", "Wake Up" (he turned the power to the have nots, and then came the shot... whatdoi-whatdoi-what do I gotta do to wake you up, to shake the structure up), and "Freedom", but they are all good. Great song, good message. But one of the weaker rap oriented RATM songs. Check out Bulls on Parade, Freedom, Take the Power Back, People of the Sun, Bullet in the Head, Wake Up, etc
I loved your expression during this video. The most intense concert I ever attended ESPECIALLY in the pit was at a Rage show. I wish this band would get back together. Love your vids bro.
Love the reaction videos. Always think it's great to see somebody Branch out step outside of the box that people are normally in and enjoy other types of music.
wooo reminds me of high school! Love the crazy live concerts. As i said before I love Pearl Jam so you have to react to "porch" live at Pink pop 1992. One of the best stage dives in history.
Would have to say that Bodycount is a better rap-metal band tbh but can see the argument that could be made...just never consider Zac to be rapping, rather inflected singing
Preston, You are a Star! You just made my day. I loved watching you react to this Beast of a song!... I laughed out loud at least 4 times...don’t know who you are or what made me click (besides RageAM) but so glad I did! And of course I subscribed. Can’t wait to watch the nest one... Brilliant.
A simple but powerful message, delivered like a gut punch. I can't say I'd listen to RATM on the regular for pleasure, but if I were driving & this came on I'd definitely turn it up & step on the gas.
My generation X was extremely spoiled: we came after Lenon and Hendrix, we listened to our parents and grandparents albums from the 30s-70s, we were born into funk and the rise of metal, we lived through the most creative decade of music genres in the 80s, saw the rise of old school hip-hop, and we rocked the 90s. We had a great ride.
Their eponymous album still one of my top 5, me and my mate drove 150 miles from Wales to Heathrow en route to Turkey at 4am back in the 90’s, we was both falling asleep so we just banged Rage in the tape deck and rocked out on the M4, WAKE UP!!!!!!
He's talking about the Album Renegades, that was their last album and it's a cover album. But if you like them saying some real shit, every other album has got you. The first album, Rage Against The Machine.
Never seen this dude before. Just watched 2 of his vids, Korn, and now Rage... He is awesome. I like him. I like his reactions and the way he actually enjoys the music. Very cool. Thanks man.
Tom graduated from my high school in Libertyville Il. I met him by accident at a dive bar and the dude is the coolest man to meet. I go by the "dont bother the celebrity in his off time" mentality. All I said was "Tom, ur amazing, just want to say thank you for ur music". He bought me a shot and started a conversation...dude is amazing in real life also. So damn nice.
I love this song because it's a beautiful example of not needing to say much to say a lot. There's like three lines of lyrics in the whole song, yet you know exactly what he's talking about. Fucking brilliant.
25 years later Rage still gives me goosebumps
This is one of the best songs fucking ever, and one of the most badass guitar riffs ever.

love to see your reaction - the look on your face when he starts the 'fuck you' is exactly like mine all those years back, keep it up KINGKTF
Faith No More...EPIC
Anthrax and Public Enemy...Bring The Noise
Onyx and Biohazard...Judgement Night
AlwaysSomething hell yeah on Judgement Night!
Hoooold on bruuuuh!!!!!! Epic and Bring the Noise for sure!!
Judgement Night soundtrack was a great album
One of the most legendary bands ever. And of course, TOOL
I like your taste is music
Great song, good message. But one of the weaker rap oriented RATM songs. Check out Bulls on Parade, Freedom, Take the Power Back, People of the Sun, Bullet in the Head, Wake Up, etc
Mike Rothschild totally agree!
Agreed great message way to much repetition
Dustin Moore I'm fairly certain the point of the repetition is to create emphasis.
I concur.
One of the greatest lines ever in a song "Fuck you I won't do what you tell me" with feeling.
Their whole debut album is sick bra just listen to the whole damn thing.
R Dubya true!!
“FUCK YOU I WON’T DO WHAT YOU TELL ME.”
Man their first two albums cross color lines
As a rap head....I love this tune
They're saying something, they say a whole lot and they're 💯forreal.
Flawless victory indeed.
Man I saw these guys play 7 times back in the day. Glad you liked this.
Man it's fun looking at someone experiences this music or the first time, when I was just brought up listened to.
bro gotta do rage against the machine - bulls on parade
I adore all you young black men who are so open to this music. I’m a 40-year-old white woman who’s loved this since high school. Welcome to my world!
Your reaction was amazing to watch! This album changed my life the first time I heard it.
I'm so happy I saw this group LIVE baby!!! They rock!!
dont listen to rage so much in my old age but its something i think every kid should hear and like at a certain point in their lives
hahahah "hold on bruhhhhhh"
YES!!!
Rage Against the Machine-Know your enemy!!! pls
Nostalgia... Back in time... Soo good
Músics off today dont compare to This.. 90 th Forever
wooo reminds me of high school! Love the crazy live concerts.
As i said before I love Pearl Jam so you have to react to "porch" live at Pink pop 1992. One of the best stage dives in history.
The best stage dive in history 😂
If you’ll listen to the live version, the 2nd verse changes to “some of those that work forces, are the same that hold office”
You love Rap and Heavy Metal, RATM is the best Rap-Metal band ever. Bulls on Parade, Renegades of Funk, Testify are songs to listen to
Would have to say that Bodycount is a better rap-metal band tbh but can see the argument that could be made...just never consider Zac to be rapping, rather inflected singing
(hed) P.E. = best rap metal IMHO RATM close 2nd.
I bet you love the soundtrack of "Judgement Night " if you don't know it (you probably do) great rock/metal working with great rap.
Yeah, that soundtrack is great. I also like the one for Spawn, though it's not as much rap/metal
Preston, You are a Star! You just made my day. I loved watching you react to this Beast of a song!... I laughed out loud at least 4 times...don’t know who you are or what made me click (besides RageAM) but so glad I did!
And of course I subscribed. Can’t wait to watch the nest one... Brilliant.
This is straight out of the nineties and the message still is resounding, that’s the sad part... it’s heartbreaking 🤐🤐🤐
Takes me back 20 years to the club's watching them live. Oh the memories 😁😁😁😁😁😁
Oh man I love this! This is one song that gets the angst out of me!!! Thanks man. I love your reactions!!!
A simple but powerful message, delivered like a gut punch. I can't say I'd listen to RATM on the regular for pleasure, but if I were driving & this came on I'd definitely turn it up & step on the gas.
Ooooohhh you're gonna love these guys!
Rage is really great. Almost every song is a banger and they're all about fighting the system.
Also you should do Welcome To The Family by Watsky
Oooofff. This real ass song. It's too real now.
It was just as real when they wrote it. We (collectively) just weren't paying attention.
You guys need to listen to pistol grip pump and renegades of funk by them.
He's talking about the Album Renegades, that was their last album and it's a cover album.
But if you like them saying some real shit, every other album has got you.
The first album, Rage Against The Machine.
Joe Tolar wow I never knew that was a cover album. Who originally did renegades of funk?
+P - Mac Renegades of Funk, according to Wikipedia it was written and released by Afrika Bambata in 1983.
Renegades is a very good album.
I'VE SO HAPPY I REQUESTED THIS AND I AM SO FUCKING HAPPY
Renea Marie Higgs I also requested this lol
Me too!
Dude's jammin Sanctuary from Kingdom Hearts 2 in the intro, I love it
I love watching you react to these songs I’ve known and loved for a long time.
What I like about your videos is that you are so intense when you watch them. Really into the music.
Now that's what I'm talking about, that man has conviction in his voice!
Rage Against The Machine - Know Your Enemy
Maynard James Keenan from Tool is featured in it!
Best band of the 90’s hands down!! My favorite band ever! We need RAGE today more than ever.
Ramroop Neil Pantera
Yesssiiiirdd
Alice in Chains= The most underrated band of the 90s. Out of the other grunge bands that is
Them and Tool for sure.
All the band's mentioned above are the reason the 90s was the best era in music imo.
Miss the 90's and songs that were standing for something. One of the best songs from that time and this is great reaction!
Never seen this dude before. Just watched 2 of his vids, Korn, and now Rage... He is awesome. I like him. I like his reactions and the way he actually enjoys the music. Very cool. Thanks man.
Down - Bury me in smoke
yessirrr
Most definitely Bury Me in Smoke. Losing All is probably my favorite NOLA tune though. Fuck yeah, Down !!!!
Stained glass cross is sick too
RATM - How I Could Just Kill A Man (cover of Cypress Hill)
Ah, my second favorite Morello solo, first being Like a Stone with Audioslave.
One of the best bands of all time, i love how their lyrics make you stop and think. They are brilliant and one of a kind.
Back! You are an icon in the reaction video world. You did it first and set the standard. Love you bro!
I'd loved to be in your place...listening for the first time RATM in 2018!!
Finally! You have to do Know Your Enemy or Bulls on Parade for the next RATM reaction!
RATM bull on parade, guerrilla radio, or know your enemy (my fav)
Man this is so cool to see people from diffremt cultures embracing other types of music 👌
Love this entire album! Bullet in the head is AMAZING too!
RATM Ghost of Tom Joad is my personal favorite but Bulls on Parade was a radio smash!
Judith by A Perfect Circle is worth a listen, too.
Dude, all songs of this band are sick!! Listen to Freedom; Bombtrack; Guerrilla Radio etc
Killing it bro . I love meeting new people that enjoy Genre's and styles of music.
I love this song because it's a beautiful example of not needing to say much to say a lot. There's like three lines of lyrics in the whole song, yet you know exactly what he's talking about. Fucking brilliant.
