    Watching a man negotiate a scotch egg is what the internet was created for. Congrats on the first ten thousand bell ringers.

      Cheers. Yes, who'd a thought a scotch egg could prove so difficult to manhandle. Very messy things.

    Huge congratulations on the 10K, Ed. The only TH-camr who asks folk not to subscribe. I unsubscribed to appease but then realised I wouldn't get notifications of your next upload and would miss out on the weekly chuckles I always get from your posts, so have resubscribed again. Sorry and thank you for the brilliant moments of wandering thought.

    • @EdExploresScotland
      @EdExploresScotland  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks Patricia. Walking poles, or one pole, probably is a good idea because on steep bits I find I'm using the camera tripod. Still not sure about the blobs of slime. I don't think it's frog-spawn, although frogs may somehow be involved. Certain online sources indicate it is a bit of a mystery.

    Excellent video as always Ed but some essential things are missing what you need is the woolen jumper then followed by the wool hat with the bobble on top the back pack is perfect next ya need the woolen socks 🧦may I suggest green to blend in nicely with the Scottish country side next should be the "Tom Weir" Ahem I mean the Ed burns heavy duty Hiking 🥾boots and lastly to keep the pesky Midgiees away a fine pipe and Scottish blend tobacco of course I think after all that you'd be ready for any adventure congratulations on the 10 thousand subscribers I think you'll get up to 100,000 yet 😊 well done indeed...

    Congratulations on reaching 10,000 subscribers! An interesting walk and excellent views. I've often walked in the area of the Glendevon Reservoirs but have yet to explore Blackford or Tillicoultry. Next time that you're in the Ochils, do visit the excellent Inn at Muckhart, in Pool of Muckhart. Its near Yetts o' Muckhart, so you cant miss it. 😁 There are walks from there, including leading to the Glendevon Reservoirs.

      It's a very good question Norman, and I don't. It certainly makes sense to do so, but I've got no one to tell. I'd certainly advise anyone out in the hills or wilds of Scotland to do just as you advise. It makes so much sense because accidents just happen.

    • @miltonofbuchanan
      @miltonofbuchanan 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@normanhill5544 that is something i think about too ,where Ed is concerned. I worry about accidents and him having no one to say where he is going for the day or no one to notice he never got home. The path from the reservoir to Skythorn can be confusing with a lot of options. I have had it bone dry through to total bog, no slime mind. It’s a walk you can have to yourself. The Ochils are great but it’s all ups and downs without much in the way of flat areas.

    • @EdExploresScotland
      @EdExploresScotland  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Iain. Yes, lots of ups and downs. It's these little gorges around tiny streams that get me, and which are often the steepest.

    Here's my tuppence worth: don't use the OS map in the Ochils. Get the Harvey's map instead. Many of the tracks are omitted from the OS map but the Harvey's one details most of them.
    The track you climbed initially goes up to Kinpauch Hill, which sits on top of a huge aquifer. It is the source of Highland Spring bottled water. The same water is used to make whisky at the Tullibardine Distillery in Blackford.
