  • An absolutely lovely walk of around 7 miles between Menstrie and Dunblane in the Ochil Hills on wide hill-tracks and well-established footpaths. A continuation of the last video when I changed route near the old steading of Jerah. On this occasion we complete the whole hike successfully and make our way down into Dunblane via the monument to the Battle of Sheriffmuir and the monument to clan MacRae who fell almost to a man during the battle. Initially I follow a stunningly scenic footpath which then appears to grind to a halt, leaving me to scramble up a steep heathery slope. But we get there in the end, and approach Dunblane with great views of the iconic Dunblane Hydro. A truly wonderful little hike that will give you a good flavour of the scenic treats that await you in Scotland.

Another great video Ed, i done that walk from Alva once, and i remember hearing a strange noise in the wooded area (11 mins), it was probably a deer. You can walk further on from the Inn, around another 6 miles and it takes you to the Motorway.

Hi Eddy, I always enjoy the humourous aspect of your videos, and this one is a good example. I do believe that you have kept yourself in good shape by your many walks and adventures in the great outdoors! I think as one gets older, the lack of exercise is definitely a problem, and being more active is something to think about. A nice walk in the countryside is the way to go.

Hi Ed comment on your video of Alva ruin of the silver mines Road I passed here today and was thinking down below the Glen there is, an old quarry you can see it in the Glen, I was, wondering if this was maybe a storage, stables area for the quarry? My thinking be the SM would be quite a hike and onto another hill, a iron age Skelton was found in the quarry of a dwarf, you can see it in the quarry at the start, just a thought great video. 👍👍

Another great episode, with bonus pie action 🤤 You reminded me of the stupid things I got up to on my bicycle in Port Glasgow - it's a wonder I'm still alive and in one piece 😄 Did you notice the classic green Citroen on the back road at

I saw an article about Dougie's steak pies. Supposed to be very good, delivery only to all around Glasgow. But free delivery.
