I purchased a second hand, lightly used, Sony 50mm f/1.8 OSS yesterday. I have a few Canon cameras (DSLR & mirrorless) but I wanted a small Sony mirrorless for travel. I picked the a6400. I’ve watched a few of your videos which helped me with my decision. I’m late to the party but I liked & subscribed 😁
👍 good that you know about crop factors. On a APSC/S35 camera it will have an "equivalent field of view" of a ~75mm lens. The lens is listed as a 50mm as optically that is what it is.
I’m a new beginner & I brought a NEX 7 for $300 that includes a 18-55mm kit lens that’s like brand new I am not a photographer but I wanted a better lens for video recording & streaming so I’m still learning how to use my camera & edit videos on my MacBook Pro 💻 so I wanted to know your opinion if I should buy the Sony E 50mm F1.8 OSS as my upgrade lens? Besides I can easily sell my black 18-55mm kit lens
Its not a good lens for streaming. It's too telephoto. You would be better with a Sigma 16mm f1.4 for a streaming setup. 50mm f1.8 is more of a portrait lens for subjects 2-4m away from camera.

Glad you found value in the video. It does make a nice travel combo with a A6xxx body camera 😊👌
Great video. I have 50 1.8 OSS. Great lens.
Thanks man, its handy to have the OSS sometimes!
its a lens for apsc cameras so the crop factor 1.5x will be applied for it or not does it 50mm looks same as 50mm or 75mm thankyou ❤
