But a couple of Ant's recent clips discussing Opie aren't as strong. They used to always hit. Hope we can get more Ant/Jim Opie discussion
It’s called not rocking the boat.
I agree OP, Ant has a super wimpy trait of rolling with things he’s (allegedly) not okay with until he’s a safe distance away, and then whining about it afterwards. See his marriage for more details.
Oh come on, the poker chip throw was hilarious
Yeah Anthony’s historical revisionism is pretty incredible here. What a tool.
Quite literally just pulled the video up to watch Ant laughing his balls off.
Ant's capping for his life, it's on video in the public domain that he melted down laughing for about fifteen full minutes after that
Ant also "laughed" at the cake stomp. Its a nervous fake laugh to try to make it seem like comedy. Cause without it, it comes off as it is. A cringy hacky act.
@@NothingToPointOut24 EXACTLY. could you imagine if Ant and Jim sat there and scolded Opie seriously? they'd never hear the end of it.
Opie literally threw the poker chips at the girl. she CRIED in the elevator about that FACT alone. she didn't care he hated the gift; she cared that he threw it at her. she could have had him arrested, which i wouldn't agree with, but she could have. that's how much an a-hole he is.
I bought one of those autographed pictures (the sunset pic) back when the show was still on. 😅😅😅
Opie did that because he heard howies bit where he put staffers Xmas gifts to him in a wood chipper, which was a dick move but was actually hilarious somehow. But opie just could not make that funny in any way. Somehow even though Howie sucks ass now he was still funny about ripping on gifts people on staff gave him.
"LET'S GO TO THE PHONES, STEVE FROM BAYSHORE"
5:17 his heart certainly exploded
One of those moments where I worry dropping a like here might be misunderstood as me being happy that Carl passed away.
Or as Bobby says, "He past"
He's still talking about Opie? Let it go man
I STILL want the Anthony and Jimmy show. With Bobby, Rich, Colin and others being regular guests. It would be the show we always wanted and needed
Couldn't read out loud to save his life!
Even Bobo abandoned Opie.
I'm wondering what does Opie have to be miserable about . He stepped into a great career surrounding himself with funny talent . He's good at saving money and being wicked cheap .
Narcissists are Never happy no matter what they have.
Imposter Syndrome?
RIP Carl. He was a cool as dude.
Garrett: "is frugal a good quality?" Best line here imho.
I gotta say, the poker chips being thrown was hilarious. The video makes it even better
Erroneous Rock was absolutely astute here: “…NOW CLEAN IT UP!” - “ - that’s right, be a pokah playah just like ya fatha” 😂😂😂
Turns out the only thing of Carl Ruiz's that blew up was his heart.
I have my reasons for turning on Opie, but Anthony was being kind of a girl here. He wasn't completely honest. I probably haven't listened to one hundredth of the total output of Opie & Anthony but there are some funny things I remember Opie saying and doing, such as calling Lisa Loeb on her bullsh it with her "greatest hits" album, for example.
Carl was dying to get away from Opie
Yeah, the shit talking gets a little tired sometimes, but hearing Anthony imitate the way Ooie says, "Raaaydio"... 😂
Opie got all his radio moves from trying to copy Howard. Just like his contract negotiation approach. This is his radio expertise that he would always crow about.
Hes an ANIMAL LOVER
A single good quality of Opie is that his actions led to TACS
Great Board Operator
Incredible Comedy Speedbump
Great at Going to the Phones
This honestly just bummed me out about Carl.
Says a lot about the type of guy opie was that just about anyone that ever worked on the show doesn't fuck with him anymore
He was good at taking phone callers...
When you can even screw up a good Scortch bit like Opie did, you know your dealing with a person of no self awareness
Opieheimer always bombing
I hate opie but throwing the poker chips was funny at the time and Anthony knows it
I love all the best of Opie videos on TH-cam.....oh wait. Stalker Patty and Bobo have more clips than useless
The casino chips was probably funniest thing he ever done. He wasn't too bad at controlling the pests with anthony on Jocktober either. Not much else other than that though.
close, i would say pissing on the Brocabulary book was the funniest thing he ever did, mostly because that piss lasted over a minute.
@sirzmo lol true
@@sirzmowasn’t that Cigars n scotch who did that?
Funniest thing he ever did was de-wig Stalker Patti. I was CRYING laughing at that.
Anthony crying over Opie bits that obviously made him and Jimmy laugh is actually really sad. If you disliked it so much, you would’ve bought it up on the show coward.
@@MrIvanKnight Like he brought up the FH Riley's thing and crybaby Opie had to sit home and pout for 3 days and have their agent fly in?
Ant might've been a coward but thats kinda what needs to happen when you're dealing with a sociopathic infant who somehow controlled the entire show, their contract thats where worth millions of dollars and the jobs of some 50 people.
Ive heard Nopie shows is it possible to do a Nodave show?
I was listening to one radio bit with Patrice, and they were commenting on this feminists book, making fun of it, and the author feminist lady called in, and Patrice was having a serious conversation with her trying to make her see things his way, and he was making some head-room, and she was actually starting to listen to him, and Opie just randomly goes "CUUUUUUUNNNNTTT" or something like that, in the middle of the conversation, and she immediately hung up. That is the moment i realized Opie was a shitty person. Patrice was kind of upset cause he was trying to seriously get the lady to change her opinion with some good facts. Realllly lame of opie, and it wasnt even funny. Opie was the only one that thought it was funny... lmao
Opie's idea of funny is destroying other people.
Was this the one where Jimmy said "Chiclet teeth"? Cause holy fuck lol. i have never seen a more interesting dynamic or better orchestration of fucking with someone on radio. Patrice and Jim were so excellent.
It might of been, kinda sounds familiar but to be honest idk, ive listened to too many to remember the exact episode
Just type Opie and Anthony talk to feminist or something, you should be able to find it @@virginnocence
Opie is a narcissist and a terrible human being.
@virginnocence yes it was that one
Jim was trolling her but opie ruined it
It was awkward because they wanted to keep talking to the lady but opie ruined it and they all went quiet
Dave is a little smart ass and it's great
Why did cumia back out of the owen benjamin interview?
Must have been a nightmare driving to work on your radio show knowing you have nothing funny or interesting to say
Is opie still one of erocks hero's?
No.. the poker chips thing was hilarious. It was hilarious because it was mean and over the top... but God damn it was funny.
ant for president please.
save america!
The straw that broke the camel's back for me, yay nana sayings, in regards to Gregg, was Ant revealing (and I 100% believe Anthony) that Steve C self-"exited" because of Gregg's actions towards Steve. The fact that Ant could build a moderate empire rather quickly after being fired from Opie and Anthony proves who had the real talent at the end.
Uh…the “moderate empire” has fallen.
@@sdot5389 He was still able to run a successful enough business for longer than Gregg on his own. So... Yeah, win goes to Ant. Also, he just sold his company. Not exactly fallen, but "I'm too old to run this myself, let's join a group like others have."
Its astounding how Opie and Anthony ever worked, Anthony is so much more talented
As a lifelong listener/viewer of O&A - Opie has got to be autistic.. He has no other excuse..
1) He had the presence of mind to hire Anthony way back when
2) he’s no longer on the radio
Paralyzed Opie was so great. Bobby Kelly, Vos, Patrice and Jimmy and Anthony.
"To me, He's a giant!" 😆😆😆
O&A are like brothers who fought and had a serious falling out and now they bad mouth eachother to other people to make it seem like they're not the A-hole who's ignoring their brother for childish reasons.
They both probably have a secret burner phone where they text each other shit sweet nothings as they fall asleep.
Opie would be a good talent scout.
The pokerchip bit was very funny. The one and only time Opie made me laugh.
The Opester excels at not getting arrested for biting and attempted strangulation after losing a firearm at 60 years of age.
Anyone know who the two people loyal to opie are? Ant mentions it but i can't think of who they are
His wife may be one?
Was this during cereal-gate?
The poker chip incident was fucking hilarious as all fuck!
I will say at the beginning they definitely needed Opie. He had a confidence and the ability to market the show and a comfort level with the executive, White Collar class that Anthony was obviously lacking... oftentimes the most talented people in an industry especially in the creative or professional athlete Industries are terrible and despised any kind of self-promotion. You have to have a cheerleader someone to navigate that world to grow an audience and educate people on how good you are. It's not supplementary to good talent it's necessary to good talent then going on and being where the show eventually ended up nationally. If a high school kid is throwing 100 Mi an hour but doesn't have any advocates and no professional baseball Scouts know his name or his abilities then he might as well be throwing 80 mph
