    • @Emeand33
      @Emeand33 6 ปีที่แล้ว +25

      Snap Chat Kween you dont have to be thin to have an eating disorder. It basically means you have an unhealthy relationship with food. There are people who eat 2000 calories in one sitting everyday and then mentally punish themselves for having no self control. You dont have to puke or starve yourself to have an eating disorder.

  • @Enchantixix1
    @Enchantixix1 9 ปีที่แล้ว +199

    I don't really think that the characters have a mental disorder.
    It's Christopher Robin who came up with the personality's of his stuffed animals right? Maybe their "mental disorders" are just over dramatic reenactments of his different emotions. Maybe when there's an episode dedicated to Eyor Christopher feels sad and his feelings come to life in his fanatsy.

      I don't really agree with your theory. I mean, you over-simplified the symptoms of Aspergers and didn't count the other ones. What about being startled by sudden sounds? Or having a bit of a robotic voice? Or having sensory issues? I know that some people have different symptoms or have them at different levels, but three isn't enough. And me and most of the autistic/Asperger kids I have seen/met aren't shy. We just have trouble with social skills or we just like being alone. Those are completely different from being shy.

  • @Midnight3Wonder
    @Midnight3Wonder 7 ปีที่แล้ว +76

    Wait, you guys made it seem like the Pooh gang having mental disorders was a bad thing. I don't get it. What's so horrible about them having mental disorders? I actually take a bit of comfort in such a theory because it just gives me and who knows how many other people just that much more delight in watching these characters on all their adventures. What I mean to say is that I actually do have a mental disorder myself. I'm autistic, diagnosed with Asperger. It doesn't apply to everyone who has the same disorder, but mine makes it difficult for me to learn academically in the normal learning technique and even got me into quite a bit of trouble in elementary school because I had such problems learning unlike the other kids. I'm also a lot less active and social than others. But I still have my own strengths that have been able to take me pretty far in life. Even though it doesn't seem like any of the Pooh characters have autism, I find it comforting to know that some of my favorite childhood friends and even heroes may be disordered like me and that just makes me e able to relate more to them and hope that one day I can have my own fun adventures like them. Besides, whoever said being mentally disordered was a bad thing? In my opinion, being disordered doesn't make you weak or worthless. It just proves how much stronger you are compared to someone who is "normal", just as long as you don't give up!

    Sadly, I just can't believe the part about Christopher Robin. He's a young boy, and has anyone heard of...I don't know, IMAGINATION?! Every child imagines their toys being alive and interacting with them or each other! It's a natural part of growing up and subconsciously learning about the world and themselves!

    • @gurvmlk
      @gurvmlk 8 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      Not to mention a lot of these are likely the kinds of characters a young child would come up with because they can't come up with anything more complex. Some of the characters may come off as having disorders, but that's only because they're all totally one-dimensional from the creation of a kid who can't devise anything deeper.

    a very great interesting theory. but what makes it a theory is that, it has a flaw. cartoon characters are very abnormal and crazy in their own ways. im sure we dont question why tom the cat is always trying to murder jerry the mouse. no ones really complaining how spongebob and patrick lack education or common sense. no ones mad about how candace from phineas and ferb was always angry and on edge. so i dont think the creator of whinnie the pooh had intentions to make the characters represent disorders

    Here is a conspiracy of my own: Does Caillou have CANCER?!?!
    I think that Caillou has cancer and that is the reason he is bald.
    Caillou's parents have always been very protective of Caillou, and that is because they want him safe until he eventually kicks the bucket.
    No one in the show refrences the he has cancer because they don't want to upset him and let him know that he is dying.
    All of Caillou's Adventures are in his head, he creates friends in his mind to keep him company until he eventually meets his death.
    Let me know what you think and please make this an episode of Cartoon Conspiracy.

    • @RealBigDeal22
      @RealBigDeal22 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think you're reaching.
      -I watched caillou as a kid and his friends are no imaginary friends. He found them all in a logical way.
      .The ginger was a bully at first and he ended up becoming the friend of caillou.Why the hell caillou would imagine himself with a bully friend when that's the thing that all kids hate?
      .The tall ginger guy was the Rival of Caillou because he was older and better than him in every sport. Caillou was jalous of that and since he met him, he kept on trying hard to surpass him. IF you can't understand rivalry as a kid, then il just assume that you never was a kid before.
      .He also met an older friend who teach both Caillou and the ginger how to swear on the birds. Caillou and the Ginger used that knowledge on the Clementine(the black little girl) at first. Kids either learn from TV or from older friends how to be disrespectful and insulting others with words that no one want to hear so that's perfectly logical and they don't realize how it can affect them spiritually.
      When Caillou meets new friends, he learns new stuff from them, new ways. This clearly prove that they are not imaginary.
      Other than that,
      -His parent's are nothing special when you compare them with other parents and the way they protect their child.
      -Also, Caillou's parent pay even more attention for Muslin if you never noticed so this right there killed your whole theory.
      I did 0 research, i used to watch caillout on TV, that's all.

    • @fozzieatdetourbillnye5514
      @fozzieatdetourbillnye5514 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      First off, why does your theory have to say he is dying? Can't you just be optimist and say they're hoping for a cure? Secondly, a lot of children and people do beat cancer. Patch Adams, 5o/50, the TV show parenthood. I recently saw the real girl who had cancer from Patch Adams. She thankfully is doing well now. And that great film 50/50 will tell to all about it. Thirdly him being bald doesn't mean he has cancer anymore than it means Barney being purple means he gay. Charlie Brown and Homer Simpson and Arthur are all bald. They don't have cancer. Also his parents aren't anymore protective of him the other kids on there. I'm sorry if I was rude. I'm just putting in my 2 cents.

    • @bemotu8783
      @bemotu8783 10 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Caillou was initially created as a baby of nine months. When it was time for him to get older, the addition of hair made him unrecognizable. So we decided that Caillou would never have any hair, and he went on to become popular as a little boy who is bald. Caillou’s baldness may make him different, but we hope it helps children understand that being different isn’t just okay, it’s normal.

      I always figured the characters were supposed to be different emotions of Christopher Robin's. Eeyore was his sadness, Pooh his innocence, Piglet his fears, Tigger his excitement, Owl his intelligence, Kanga and Roo his love, etc...

  • @chirihoisbae4171
    @chirihoisbae4171 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    The theory I heard was extremely similar to this one and it's that instead of /having/ mental disorders, the characters /represented/ disorders/problems. That Christopher Robin's father was a psychiatrist and so the little boy knew a lot about such things from his father's "after work" ramblings. Also that his father would teach him about he problems he saw in his patients. Bc of his father being gone for long hours each day and his mother being busy with work, he plays with the toys he has had since he was small. He has retained enough of his fathers ramblings to have a general understanding of some of the problems and he projects them into his stuff animals during pretend. Pooh is actual a representation of "addiction". Piglet is, yes, a representation of anxiety and PTSD. Tigger represents ADHD (i said it was really similar) just as Rabbit is OCD. Eeyore is manic depression as well. Kanga and Roo are codependancy. And Owl is actually just a reflection of his father, whom makes comments about 'misreading' things and 'seeing things wrong'. The reason that Christopher Robin's adventures seem so extremely realistic is because he suffers from Dissociation. His lovable friends are all a connection to his beloved father and when he detaches from reality he comforts himself in these traumatic times by having wild adventures with his stuffed animals. Just thought I would share?

      Interesting. So if that one is true is it a touching story rather than a depressed one. Could you tell me if that's what you're saying? I'm trying to see if there is good in it. Even if they were disorders, I have no problems. I have OCD and get depressed. That being in a book would be a good lesson. I just don't know if that was the lesson. So please if you know if this is supposed be a touching meaning or not, I'd like a reply. Thanks

    Well my theory is that Owl is just the biggest troll ever... Driving his friends to dangerous missions and not joining them himself. When falling down to the pit with his friends acting like he can't fly up to help them out. Or stealing Eeyore's tail to keep it as a door bell string and pretending not to know where it is even though the friends organize a competition to find it. : D

    Rabbit with OCD, Eeyore with depression, Kanga and Roo with MPD, Owl with narcissism, Lumpy with PTSD, Gopher with aspergers, and Christopher Robin with schizophrenia.

    Considering the fact that Winnie the Pooh was written by a loving father for his son, Christopher Robin, about the toys in his room, I wouldn't believe that he would make his son have Schizophrenia. The others hold up but it doesn't change much. Disney's own stories which get referenced here, probably due to it being about cartoons, seem to lose the jokes put into the books. Owl was always the cleverest and knew a great deal of things which everyone else didn't know, even Rabbit, I think Disney changed some of the characters when they made the feature length stories and so the Disney versions of the characters may have the disorders but for the original characters that A A Milne wrote I think they each had their personalities assigned to make each of them unique.

    I believe disorders like autism, ADHD, OCD, ect are real, they make some people's lives terrible and can be devastating.
    I also feel that doctors misdiagnose kids for having disorders when really they are just being kids. I think doctors use these serious mental problems as means to prescribe drugs and make money. There are times when a kid is being a kid and doesn't need drugs to make him or her "normal".

  • @dannymerfeld7711

    I am going to throw this out there. I might be a bit late on this one, but what if Christopher Robin is autistic? Every single one of the problems that each of his friends has can also be found in most autistic people. I myself have ADHD, OCD, had trouble reading, and have had to deal with depression brought on by social anxiety. Recklessness and impulse control are also problems that often appear in the stage of development that Christopher Robin is in. This play therapy could be Christopher Robin's way of coping with the world. By giving his stuffed animals traits that he himself has he is able to better deal with them.

    • @TheDracoChick
      @TheDracoChick 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Quote _ I'm kinda not sure what you're getting at. Are you talking about James Bond himself or the author/creator of James Bond was an alcoholic? Either way, I still think it's a waste of time to be analyzing such things if there's no point or need to analyze them. Then again, that doesn't mean they shouldn't do it, everyone has their own opinions and things they want to focus on, but all I can say is just WHYYY? Considering that one of James Bond's most famous line's is "shaken, not stirred" and he often known for drinking alcohol , it's a bit of a no brainer. You don't need a scientist to tell you that much. But I digress.
      I'm not saying that such things should never be studied or speculated by the masses and fans, because it's a fun thing to wonder about and there are some stories that are purposely created to have a air of mystery to them. But the fact that actual SCIENTISTS come in and take an innocent kid's cartoon and turn it into a mental hospital filled with disorder-ridden patients seems just a bit extreme to me. Not only that, I didn't like the way that it's being portrayed here, as if having these disorders where an abomination of nature. It just seems a bit insulting to the people that have these problems and to the fans of adults and children alike who enjoy watching the show.

    • @randomforester_462

    I don't think those really count as mental disorders. They're just personality traits, like any good characters need to have. Even though there are some legit points, Piglet in "Piglet's Big Movie" had to overcome his fears to save Pooh from falling down a waterfall. It never says in any of the movies that it's Christopher Robin who's personally imagining all of this. And if he is, who says it can't be all a dream? Or is there some sort of disorder for having dreams too?

    POOH BEAR is the representation of Taoism, and the fact that the medical studies was conducted makes this more ironic. Taoism is the ultimate state of "not giving a f*** and just be one with nature" The fact is Pooh is like a child doesn't think very much, but he is also carefree, and teens and adults envy him not caring when shit goes down. We all want to be in the state of "Pooh" but you might ask what about the other characters. Yeah whatabout Eeyore, rabbit, owl, and tiger. They're all the excessive characteristics of how not to reach taosism. Eeyore believes things are hopeless before event trying, believing everything is a lost cause.Rabbit is OCD because he is like the adverage adult stressing over every little thing and can't focus on the everything's in life. Owl is stupid, he tries soooooooooo hard to act smart, but he actually isn't very. Tigerr is hyper active because he is reckless, and doesn't go with the flow, if he wanted to fly he will try to go against all odds to achieve it, not matter how impossible. That's why Pooh is just perfect, because he's the epitome of spiritual enlightment, and we envy him.

    The way I see this is a series or stories to help kids learn empathy and patience for others with these disorders, and to give kids with these disorders someone to both associate with and to some degree look up too, as even though they all have disorders the characters are all good, caring, and look out for each other. I know a child therapist who specifically uses whinnie the Pooh and Inside Out to help kids and parents cope and understand their own disorders.

  • @literaltrash9144

    My theory on Winnie The Pooh is that each character makes up a part of Christopher Robbins. Such as tigger is his bravery and adventurous part of him. Kanga is like his mother figure loving and over protective and roo is the little brother he always wanted but never had. Eyor is the part of him that doubts things and represents his sadness. Rabbit is the part of him that needs control in his life. Piglet is the part of him that worries about everything way to much. Owl is the prt of him that wants to be smart. Pooh represents one of three things either his personality as a whole, his best friend, or his childish playfulness

    Actaully, its Tigger that says that "Falling on the jagged rocks below is no different than (pause as he thinks) tumbling out of bed!"
    At this point Piglet becomes hopeful (he's tuck on the top of his tree)
    But then Tigger adds "except for the splat at the end"
    So no, piglet did not compare fallling out of bed to tumbling onto jagged rocks, Tigger did, and he compared fallling on rocks to falling out of bed as a way to comfort, not scare.

    I've heard this one before, and was actually just thinking about it earlier today, and as I thought about it I came to the conclusion that rabbit does not have OCD he's just really tidy, and you can see this just in the way he gives in. While he does try to hide his things to keep them neat and well stalked he doesn't freak out when they inevitably find it, he just lectures them slightly and moves on something very few with OCD would be able to do.

I had heard of this theory before and I can't remember where I first heard of it but the version I heard was a little different: Some of the characters were meant to represent different mood extremes or different aspects of Christopher's psyche. This kinda made the theory seem more balanced and also gave Christopher more depth, considering that all the other characters are just part of his own imagination... Although, this does make him seem a little schizo I suppose but kids tend to have pretty vivid imaginations.

    I am going to say something now. Having a disorder is not to be glorified, and listen to the reasons why. First off, there is a big difference between romanticizing an illness and being accepting of it. For instance, many people believe that having depression or anxiety is 'cute' or 'cool', when in actuality it can be debilitating for people, and will only serve to belittle a person's actual problem when it is seen as something to take pride in. However, you should also never feel like a lesser person because of your illness either, as it does not make you any less of a person.
    Second, glorification of mental illnesses can and have been known, to lead to severe and negative repercussions. This is something that should be obvious, but, sadly, it is not. If someone goes around stating how cool it is to have depression, or how cute anxiety is, all you do it belittle those who suffer because of it. You create a general consensus that the problem isn't actually one because it is something 'cool'. A person could be seriously considering taking their lives, and not be taken seriously because others have been taught that 'depression is cool and everyone has it, so it's okay not to take someone seriously when they tell you about it'. It makes it seem so common that you can treat a threat of suicide as a joke. No matter what, if you speak of committing suicide or self harm, there is an issue. It should never be seen as something that is a trend, and it is sickening to see so many people state that they're 'proud' to have a disease. It is not a source of pride, but also not as a source of shame. People with an illness are just that: people. No more, and no less.

    I agree with everything about Tigger having ADHD, Rabbit having OCD, Eeyore (obviously) having depression, and Piglet having anxiety. But Christopher Robin having schizophrenia just seems dumb? I think maybe the creator pulled the personalities from the stuffed animal from mental disorders, but I doubt he just decided to write up a child who hallucinates adventures with his teddy bears. I think Christopher Robin's character is just a little kid who imagined playing with his toys. It just seems ridiculous to write up a little kid with schizophrenia for a childrens show. Especially the reasoning, because all little kids imagine playing/going on adventures with their toys.

    @joshuahenningson7897 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    my continuation of the theory= criss robin is in an asylum because of hallucinations, and is imagining his friends as weird looking animals. kanga is a therapist, and roo is a young coworker, that kanga feels like protecting because... ya know... crazy people. you could make the argument that ocd and dyslexia don't belong in asylums, but criss probably sees the more serious disorders as normal, and doesn't include them in his hallucinations because he thinks of them as negative personality traits, and all the hallucinations are idealized views of his life.

    I have OCD, ADHD, and ADD. If this is conspiracy is real, I think we should just except it. Life is tough for me and many others with these conditions.

  • @drewandcharlie7583

    The tough ones are pooh and owl. The others are pretty obvious. When it was written, it would make sense pooh was just meant to be simple-minded in the old sense. Owl is narcissistic and uncaring as well as illiterate, Tigger is hyperactive, rabbit is angry and obsessive, piglet is tense and hysterical, eaore has bad mood and is depressive. Christopher sees things that arent there. Kanga is an overprotective mother and roo is infantilized forever a child.
    All of these things existed 150 years ago and had been identified we just call them different things now.
    I still think it makes more sense that they embody the extremes of Christopher’s personality as its his imagination that created them.

    I would say that Pooh seems more like he has Binge Eating Disorder (not to be confused with Bulimia). Also, here's a thought: What if, the whole show actually takes place in an psychiatric clinic? (In Christopher Robin's mind it's the Hundred Acre Wood). If this is the case, then Kanga could be the doctor that runs the facility and Roo could be her son who keeps on slipping in and playing with the patients.

    Pooh- Bulimia
    Piglet- Generalized Anxiety
    Eeyore- Depression
    Rabbit- OCD
    Tigger- ADHD
    Kanga- Social Anxiety
    Roo- Autism
    Owl- Dyslexia
    Christopher Robin- Schizophrenia

    I don't think this is ruining someone's childhood. Mental disorders are very common and having characters represent them can help some people. For example the character piglet has kinda helped me with my anxiety in some ways. I think that if this theory is true it is a really nice way to make the characters more relatable and can help some people.

    ChannelFrederator, I've always wondered, if Pooh is a stuffed bear, where does all the honey he eats go? I have a theory. First off, I'm assuming that Christopher Robin's friends are part of his imagined world. So with that in mind, I think Christopher Robin (consciously or unconsciously) made it so Pooh bear can't ever have the feeling of a full stomach. That's part of the reason why he has such an obsession with honey. He's never able to get enough of it because Christopher Robin made it that way. And if Christopher is projecting such a problem onto one of his stuffed friends, then it must be an issue that he has seen or dealt with in his everyday life at home.
    This brings me to my other theory. I think Christopher Robin's family members have these problems and since he's had to live with them and have them be a constant presence in his life, their mental health disorders have seeped into his 100 acre world and influenced Christopher to project those behaviors onto his stuffed friends. In the 100 acre woods, these problems are presented as an adventure instead of the ever real nightmare that he sees at home.

    Tigger seems to be the only one who lines up. Piglet is just scared because he's a piglet and Christopher Robin is just a kid playing with his toys. Eeyore could suffer from depression or he could just be that way so that Christopher Robin always has the opportunity to say "why the long face?" It seems that Christopher Robin just based their personalities off of what animal they are. They already said that when they compared Pooh to an actual bear. Rabbits move really fast and all over the place and they run away from other animals, which sort of explains his personality. Again, Tigger is the only one who doesn't match up with his animal, being a tiger in this matter. Also, they forgot Gopher.

    In my opinion, Roo has autism spectrum disorder and Kanga has post-partum depression. I take comfort in knowing that my friends in Winnie the Pooh had mental disorders. I can relate to Piglet lol!

    Owl isn't dyslexic- in fact he's a genius.
    He's the only character (including Christopher Robin, in some of the earlier episodes and movies) who can read and write.
    However, he's constantly talking about his family. His parents, his uncles, cousins, aunts, grand-parents - Owl had a massive family, but these people are never seen in the show. Another family obsessed animal is Tigger, who is always boasting that 'I'm the only one!' and, in Tigger's Big Movie, goes off to look for other Tiggers. Piglet and Eeyore never mention their families- but isn't it a bit weird that two domestic herd animals would be left in a forest alone? Only rabbit actually has family- and they all only visit rarely.
    I think that Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore, Tigger, Kanga and Roo all escaped from a local zoo (perhaps with a heffalump.) The native animals all fled the hundred-acre-wood- except Owl, who wanted to study them, and rabbit, who wouldn't leave his garden.

      +Cheeseanonioncrisps Now, that's more depressing than Fry's MOM being worried sick over him, or even worse, THIS THEORY!!! Why? Because, if what you said about Christopher Robin is true, then I'm starting to think that maybe he IS a schitsophreniac!!

    Figured this on out in Abnormal Psych, however they missed that poo is an Addict (to Honey) which is a better explanation than OCD and I would describe Tigger as more Bipolar 1, Manic Phase.
