Are you thinking about building a campground? Glamping in Maine is on the rise and this channel is all about how to build a campground in Sanford Maine. Campground construction is not an easy process and involves many steps and lots of communication with the town and state officals as well as the neighbors.
Campgrounds are typically opposed in populated areas by neighbors who don't want them in their back yard. It is very important when building a camping or glamping experience to be sensitive to the enviroment as well as the neighbors who will border the park.
This channel is all about our journey on how to build a campground. We are in Sanford Maine. My family and I purchased over 100 acres that connects to a 30 acre pond called Sand Pond. This channel is dedicated to the journey we are on with the entire process.
We want to build one of the best campgrounds in southern maine for hiking and exploring nature.
Topics we plan to cover in depth include:
find the land and check zoning laws. Speak with code enforcement
land survey
identify potiential wet land and conduct studies that check for vernal pools
have wild life studies performed
communicate with all neighbors that you are the new owners of the property
campground design and consultants
clearing the land and staying a recommended distance from neighbors and wet lands
add fencing to the land
hiring an engineering company
meetings with the neighbors
communicate frequently with code enforcement
water requirements
dealing with sewerage in a new campground
building roads
calculating impervious surface
Subscribe to this channel if you want to learn about building and managing a campground.
Airports: 45 minutes to Portland (PWM) and to Portsmouth (PSM). 90 minutes to Boston (BOS) which is best to use in the winter. If you have your own airplane, Sanford has it's own airport with a very long run way. Our web site: www.sandpond.com

Not sure if you figured it out or not but the winch pole extends to give you a better dump angle. Good video. I’m thinking about getting one for the homestead
Just stumbled upon the video n after watching it i came here to basically say the same thing bout the pole/mast
Yes I noticed this after the video. Thank you ofr the correction.
Go and watch the video from Woodland Mills on how to properly raise telescoping mast with the winch, as well as removing the pin to let the mast swivel.
@@John_Ridenour Thank you John. Please include the link to the video.
Please post the URL when you get a chance. I'm still having a problem with the winch setup. The rope they use doesn't seem to be ideal for the application of raising and lowering the dump.
Just a thought on the tire flex, the bottom of the tire will be squished out under load and the top will be normal so if you put your level on it it's going to be off. Now you might have some flex from the axle but probably more to do to the tire compression.
Good point. Thank you.
Braided steel cable wont stretch like that rope does
Good idea. So far the rope is working now that I know how to work with it. This trailer is tough!
Prices for these trailers are kinda ridiculous
