I can't wait for this one and the eventual Forbidden Gundam to complete the set. I really hope Bandai keeps making more kits in this line (105 Dagger or Strike Dagger and the M1 Astray) would all be amazing to have. With any luck, maybe they will do the Season 2 Gundams as well. If not them, can we at least get the Wing grunt suits?! I want a 1/100 Leo!
I hope they kept the SEED enemy Gundam theme (for a bit, at least) and give us the 2nd Stage ones (Chaos, Gaia, Abyss) too, though i wouldn't say no to updated Providence / Legend lol.
@@teknonaught The Providence is already based on the 2.0 Freedom frame. It is pretty damn flawless. I would love to see a Legend and Saviour Gundam though. The Bandai 1/100 scale line is at an odd place now. MG new releases are rare, RE/100 is pretty much dead, and now FM is back again after a hiatus but branched off into SEED with the kits a mash between the two other grades but priced higher. Seems like Bandai's still testing the market for 1/100 scale...

about the drug trio i really like how each gundam is a take on an already done design, but they are still very unique. raider is a far superior design to the airmaster in pretty much every way, and while the airmaster only looks like a gundam because of its head in MS mode, the raider exudes a threat level, due to how weaponized they managed to make it. similarly, i feel like the calamity is a nice take on the heavy arms archetype, and again i feel like its a better design than the leopard. the most unique of the 3 is of course the forbidden, which doesnt really have a comparable design(at most would be a mix of the deathscythe with the cancer). and that takes me to something seed did very well, how diverse and diferent its gundams are. even if there are so many, they do feel like unique machines on their own right.

Full Mechanics SEED line seems to be designs in which Bandai isn't confident enough that they'll sell a lot. Cost cutting engineering and planning thru using less plastics during production. Priced like an MG tho. If you look at the placements of the runners, you'll notice that variants are gonna come soon enough and a completely new design is also on the table like the PBandai FM Aile Calamity. How do people feel about the surface details on these non-MG 1/100 kits? I ask because I find whenever I look at these I'm reminded of the old Wing/X High Grade 1/100 kits. Arguably these are encroaching on an excessive level of detail like those did... but then again that WAS also arguably part of their charm back in the day...

Just finished the Gunner Zaku Warrior there is no way its blurring any lines. I have the Calamity FM as well. You can see and feel the difference. The Calamity just feels cheaper and is super simple great kit but no where near the quality of the MG Gunner Zaku Warrior.
My issue with these FM kits continues to be the price. Yes, they look good but why do they cost so much? This and the Calamity cost more than the MG Dynames and Barbatos, and those have full strong inner frames, a comparable amount of accessories and outer detail, and better articulation. If Bandai wants to keep production costs low by omitting the inner frame, it’s not reflected in the price. They need to be cheaper
Inflation & plastic size Different production time different price, and bandai still the cheapest, you can try other company if you think you'll get better deal
@@somechinesedude5466 Inflation would drive up the price for all their manufacturing and wholesale prices to stores, which it has, but relative prices between kits would remain largely static. I don’t care about Bandai being the cheapest company. These kits are over priced for what you get. The entire point of the FM/RE100 kits is they offer MG outer detail while being simpler and less costly. What is the point of making these as FM kits instead of MGs if you are making them more expensive than your top 1/100 scale products? The FM IBO *have* a full inner frame and are somewhere around 35-40 dollars for the entire line. These FM SEED kits are 60+. You get less product for more money
Bandai’s recent marketing strategy is to rise the prices of more obscure kits to guarantee benefit, while decreasing the prices of popular kits to promote Gunpla. For example, RG Hi-Nu is sold at a relatively low price point despite its higher-than-MG part count. On the other hand, a lot of less popular designs are getting P-Bandai treatment / way overpriced like MG The-O. I’d argue the price of FM Raider Gundam is justified even when compared to MG. It has slightly better quality and similar amount of plastic compared to MG Providence, which is sold at the same price. (The Providence’s frame is very lacking and it doesn’t have a complete cockpit.). I agree FM Calamity is way overpriced though. Bandai might be using that kit to test the market response.
