Clive Anderson really irritates me. He's constantly interrupting, as if he's trying to upstage the interviewee and he's got this smug, superior and supercilious look about him. Check out his interview with the Bee Gees. Barry Gibb sorted Anderson out very adroitly.
The format of the show was that Clive would banter with guests and get his jokes in. It wasn't only about the guests (for better or worse). At the time Clive was a comedy figure in his own right. It was very popular, and he was good with guests who were smug in their own right, such as Jeffrey Archer. Anyway, as you say, it didn't survive the Bee Gees episode which was a little later after the programme switched to the BBC.
Pity that Harry Enfield didn't get behind Brexit. With regret, he's a London leftie, who made millions from property sales and lost his magic touch from his early career when he seemed completely in tune with the pulse. Completely lost it and from the number of views here, just shows that Les Patterson had his finger on it all the time!
Aww, so young!!! He was actually quite cute back then 😊
It's not often Clive loses control; but Harry was very entertaining anyway.
Clive Anderson has been shot by Noel Edmonds.

Didn't see anything wrong with Clive here tbh. Yeah he's a bit more direct than some other hosts but you can tell it's part of the programme.
Loved Stavros - downhill from there
