The star of the Crispy Cuppy ‘Roni lineup is the NY Style Crispy Cuppy ‘Roni Pizza, boasting a trifecta of cupping pepperoni and creamy tomato sauce, served in extra-large, NY-style slices. This elevated take on the classic pepperoni pie promises to delight taste buds.

Years ago, in the 70s and 80s, all the family owned pizzerias around me growing up used the "cup" peperoni. Then something changed with the mass production of "peperoni." Probably added soy.
Marco’s pepperoni magnifico is the best cupped pepperoni pizza out all the chains hands down. That pizza from Papa John’s looked undercooked it couldn’t hold on its own when you held it up.

I have not tried either of them, but I plan to try both.
I just got confirmation that my unopened Papa Johns sitting empty for the last YEAR is finally OPENING in August here in Hilo, so I am very glad I get to try the Cuppy Roni pizza and I might want to try their NY pizza too:)

It's just marketing meaning size. All these pizza chains do the same thing. NY Style is corporate speak for XL. You know they can't make a true NY pie my brother. Need a good mom and pop for that.

yes this def isn't a true ny style. Looks much funnier than an actual NY slice and thinner. This is just a basic fast food pizza.
We ordered it today. It was a horrible greasy mess. Yours looked so much better than ours. Taste was awful as well.
If they had doubled the amount of pepperoni it might be really good. I really don’t think Papa John’s is one of the better tasting pizzas on the market. Thanks for Sharing!’

Just toss a slice on a frying pan, 5 minutes over medium heat and it will crisp up like a dream.

I always order Papa Johns pizzas well done, they are so much better that way.
We prefer the Old World pepperoni, but, not excited about Papa John’s. But, this one might be good. How is the sauce? We have a great pizza in NW Arkansas at Pizzaria Ruby’s. Excellent.

Yeah the undercarriage needed to be toasted more and I think with Shaq walking away they couldn't still have the shakaroni they could have put a lot more pepperonis on that add toasted the bottom or back in a lot more😊
I like the "cuppy" pepperoni, but hate floppy NY crust. Its good the crust isn't too soggy, but it could be crispier.

Is the sauce different than the regular sauce they use?
Yeah, its not the same sweet sauce, more of a vodka sauce, honestly really good sauce compared to the regular Papa Johns sauce that is too sweet.

That looks undercooked to me, that is why I always do well done on any papa john's pizza. As for old world pepperoni, get the Little Caesars one any day. it is like $11-13 dollars depending on location, and has more pepperonis than can believe. It is always amazing, especially with the caesars crazy sauce to dip in but..... what if ya used Papa Johns garlic butter dip to dip that Little Caesars one in? Now that'd be epic

Trust me. I'm picky about chips. Only like cool ranch and the cheese and the brand old dutch chips... Everything else is basic all these new flavors like spicy queso and street corn have no seasoning on them or too salty. TRY THE SIZZLIN CHEESEBURGER DORITOS.. EXCLUSIVELY at stores with Kroger or Kroger. Only in big bags where I'm at tho. I'm going to get a other bag today it's that good ☺️
I know it sounds weird but I really like dipping my pizza in their cheese sauce cups instead of the garlic dip.
That looked like a fine pie. For $13.99 - Decent price. $22.99 - No thanks. If getting it delivered with delivery, tax and tip, it's over $30.00. Maybe for a party. But not for those of us who are single diners, maybe an extra person. You're right in that pepperoni pizza has been around since the beginning. I recently got the Costco Pizza. Bought a whole pizza. I had pizza for 4 days. Don't think I will do that again. Unless sharing it with 4 people or so.
Good football pizza PJ’s is my favorite chain pizza. Needs to be a bit crispier on the bottom tho
Those are entirely different type of pepperoni, it’s not just named different. It’s roni cup style. I guess there is no casing so the edges get crisp. When I go to Marcos Pizza they are called old world pepperoni. If I don’t say it they give me regular pepperoni which isn’t crisp and lays flat. 😊

i ordered last night the cuppy roni ... unfortunately after two bites i feel like vomiting , the smell of the cuppy pep is not for me i tried putting lots of hot sauce , garlic butter ..nope ..theres a lingering rubber smell ..maybe its just me 😞😞
and agreed the name of the pizza is almost as cringeworthy as asking for Sonic to "make it dirty"
Last time I ordered Papa John's, I found plastic strands in my cheese sticks. The level of quality at fast food pizza chains always leaves a disappointment. It varies way too much.
Man I wanna get that but our local Papa John’s has just out of nowhere started sucking ass. They were always consistent and good, but out of the blue we’ve just been getting shit pizza several times in a row. 😫

It's literally the same pizza, just with the cupped pepperoni, and I would guess a smaller amount overall since that Shaq pizza is usually just crust to crust pepperoni lol (oh and they do add it seems some Italian herbs and some seasoning that the Shaq pizza doesn't have AFAIK)

Hey... you must be new here. Every fast food chain pizza I review is rated against other chain restaurants. They are NOT compared to mom and pop spots. And lastly. I had season tickets to the Yankees for 4 years and ate more NY pizza and I know great pizza. I have also been to all the top spots in New haven. Pepes...Sally's..modern..etc.. I KNOW pizza . So don't assume things. Just my 2 cents. ;) now you are informed

It looks like it’s horrible. It doesn’t even look cooked. They cook it for 10 more minutes it will be fine
They can call it NY style all they want, but thats a bad copycat of Columbus style. Google Columbus style. If you're ever in Ohio, it's the best pizza you can get!

Great review as always man...But I do have a suggestion. At 0:23 it kinda made me think. Its been a long time and your vids (while good) have not evolved much in as many years. Step up your production! Hell...Look at Joe is Hungry. Both of you guys do the same thing...but the way he gets from point A to point B is WAY different than you. You have actually more personality than Joe...now you need the production to equal your persona~! I hope you don't think I'm trying to be negative, I just think you can go to 100k fast with a bit more pizazz.

@robert7984 you’re totally missing the point man. The Endo has been doing this for over 10 years and has his own style. Joe is Hungry is completely different.
That’s like comparing Adam Richman (man vs food) to people like Matt Stonie, Randy, Erik the electric, etc.
This style has suited him well and obviously works well so while I know you’re trying to just give a suggestion, recognize this dude is giving daily, sometimes multiple times, content and it obviously works for a quick, honest review.
Also, his videos are all mostly under 10 mins so idk what you’re talking about mate. You get some fun banter, closeups and descriptions of the food and score. 🤘

hey Robert... 2 things. I removed no comment of yours. I very rarely ever remove a comment. - also - 10 years doing videos. Thickest skin in the game. i make reviews and move along. and lastly - people like what they like. and you hit the nail on the head. channels do things differently - that is the beauty of TH-cam. If you’re gonna film on a phone, it’s gotta be an iPhone. Love Samsung, but it ain’t on the filming level of an iPhone. Samsung is better at everything else tho.
Oh wow..I will passionately disagree. I have had 3.. yes 3..youtubers, that I have filmed with.. who have iphones. And film on them. And EVERY one reacted the same way when we filmed for my channel on my ultra. They are like..omg. how clear.. and the one thing that they could not get over? When I hold the item up for a close up. It focuses instantly and Crystal clear. But the biggest take away was the instant focus.. and ALL 3 didn't know each other and reacted on their own. Soo. That's my 2 cents. ;)
