Hi Todd and NeNe, hopefully you’ll be able to see or even attend a Hmong New Year event. I heard that due to the pandemic the Lao’s government not allow The traditional Hmong New Year which is Hugh BIG event this year. The Lao government is allowing every Hmong village to celebrate 🎉 Hmong New Year but it’ll have to be small and within their village only. But Hopefully you and Nene are able to see and attend one during your travel at this time, I don’t lived there in Lao but I know if you ask any Hmong person they sure be able to give you information on it and let you know when will Hmong New Year start- every village or towns has different dates but I do know that it will be starting soon. We here in Minnesota’s already celebrate Hmong New Year on 11/28/2020. Great Video and thank you for alway showing the mother Land. Also can you start a fund or donation website so people can help support you and your channel. Traveling is not cheap and your video are awesome and it deserves support from people like me that wants to donate to you so you can continue to makes videos like these. Much Love ❤️
Hi Somong.. thank you so much for the information and support. We had always had plans to go to Phonsavan for the Hmong New Year, but like you said, large festivals this year have been restricted. Our trip to Sam Neua is over now and we are back in Vientiane, but planning another very shortly once we get the videos from the last trip edited. You have really surprised me with your generosity, thank you. I will give this more thought, thank you. Mr. Todd, I think you are driving a pickup. Is it gas (petrol) or diesel? Is availability of fuel an issue? I'm sure the motorbikes are gas. Do they have lots of 2 stroke engines? Here in the USA, they have banned 2 strokes and only sell 4 stroke engines. I'm amazed at the differences in the cities as you travel. You certainly do not go unoticed! It is nice to see the locals are very friendly! Keep the videos coming! Best regards to you and your lovely wife.
