- The lie you have been sold is that you need more clothing to dress well. The reality is, in fact, the opposite. To develop real style, you must get more narrow. When you declutter your wardrobe, examine your true outfit needs, and get very specific about what you like and what works for you, this is where your true style begins to emerge.
Part of the problem is that fashion has become synonymous with style, when in fact the two are nothing alike. Fashion is ever changing, cyclical, aimed at the masses. Style is consistent, limited, and individual to each person. Saying that more clothing, more shoes, more handbags will fix your wardrobe (or your life) is far removed from reality.
If you have believed the lie that more fashion will make your wardrobe better, it’s time to stop. Recalibrate and listen. Take stock of what you own. Examine the clothing, shoes and handbags you do buy, and ask yourself what purpose those items really serve. I can guarantee that you will have more success with your outfits if you begin to focus on the narrow. Less colours, less genres, less florals.

I was at the Tulip Festival the other day too. A little late I believe, usually I go late August - the tulips were looking tired, but still beautiful. The Bickley Valley was looking glorious with all the blossoms whilst driving out to Araluen, this is truly a beautiful place to be in Spring/Djilba. Beautiful video, as always.

I have found that moving to a new climate has helped me understand my style and what I want. I think it has been something in my mind for a long time, but not understanding how to realize it until I changed climate. I always felt like my stylevword was feminine. I would buy a lot of dresses. However i could never say no to a button down, but they looked off on me. I have realized that I can only wear mostly linen blends because I am in warm climate. I thought I was very feminine in my style, but I think it’s more a flowing masculine style, like a long shirts with flowy black pants. I also love a black base like a tank and pants with a colorful kimono or a black linen blend jumpsuit with an oversized colorful linen shirt. And Knowing this has definitely made me ship less because I am no longer chasing a “feminine “ vibe with dresses. Now when I go out I know exactly what I want to wear and I feel great.

I hate to admit this, but I've always loved granny core/ cottage core/ boho chic (or whatever the trendy word of the moment is for such styles) but in the end it looks AWFUL on my hour glass figure, making me frumpy...so while I appreciate it, I realized classic, more structured solid color clothing, closer to the body is my wheel house and that's ok.🖤
