I was super worried this channel had gone dormant after not posting for a while. I even snooped on the IG account to see if there were any recent posts. 😅 I recently found this channel and cant stop watching. Love the format, the information, and personality. Thanks David! !Keep it up!

Thanks for this great showcase David! I've known of the Taccia brand but had seen/heard very little about them. Color me Impressed, & that Autumn Sunset has me wondering what I'm gonna do for rent money! LOL

Great video, what an amazing opportunity to see all of these works of art together in such detail! To get a better idea of the scale of the pens you review, I'd love to see a standard pencil or ballpoint pen be included in the size comparisons some time. Thanks for your awesome videos, have a great day :D

Really missed the vids, but thanks for the super cool review of 10 cool pens!! I’m now looking for a deal on the Wajima Spring Willow, just love that green, and the intentionally placed “random” pebble. I love how each pen is a unique piece of art. And equally appreciate all you do to bring us these great vids!!

The name Taccia comes from Italian, so the cc is pronounced like a ch in English, and it means something like "bad reputation" or an accusation/indictment, and comes from the verb tacciare, to accuse/charge (with a crime). It's probably a mistake by the Japanese founders who I assume were misled by another Italian word, tacere, to be quiet/to fall silent/to stop/to be still/etc., which can be conjugated as taccia, but only in the conjunctive or imperative. The conjunctive requires context, so the name of the company would be an imperative "be quiet!" 😂
You see this kind of thing a lot when Japanese companies try to use foreign languages without understanding them.

      会社名はイタリア語で「黙れ」って意味なんですよ。

@@Danny.._ Thanks Danny! I had to look up Taccia since my Italian from college years is a little rusty. I agree with you…I looked it up on two sources. Lots of things to learn here on my new fountain pen journey.

Sabimidori is one of my favourite inks! Great choice.
I’m sorry you hot sick, but glad you’re better. I’m so ready for there to be fewer germs getting passed around.
These pens are all admirable, yet I don’t find I want any of them. It’s actually really nice to see pens I enjoy viewing, but that still don’t tempt me. Thank you for showing them off!

New to the fountain pen world (have had various other stationary issues over the years 😂). Incredible craftsmanship on these pens. Really enjoying learning all the different facets of the fountain pen. Thanks for the video.

Those are amazing. I've been wondering if they arrived through some mail service to you and if so what they were insured for. Gave me the thought that to return them you should do so in person and go to Japan so we can see production facilities!

I could see myself getting into pens for the inks in the same way Im into knives for the steels.
I keep a txt document of things you've shown that really interest me and the ratio of inks to pens is about 10:1.

These pens are all beautiful. My favorite finish is the Winter Blizzard.
As for the Kaga line, there should have been the King of Pen nib. The other nibs remind me of the 1911 and 1911s sizes. That all the varieties of Sailor nibs are available is a bonus. I wish other manufacturers such as Pilot would do the same.
As for eyedropper fill, i have done so with my KOP that has a black ebonite body. I had no issues and there was no staining of the metal oarts on the section.
Great selection of pens, David. Did you get the entire collections for yourself or are they on loan?

Hi! New subscriber as of today…just received my first Sailor Shikori fountain pen the Grateful Crane from Japan. Embarking on my fountain pen journey now and looking forward to learning a lot on here. I’m looking at the Leornado pens as I have small hands and I didn’t know this Sailor would be tiny…if anyone has any suggestions for a heavier weighted pens it would be much appreciated and any inks brands anyone can recommend. Thank you so much!

For hand-crafted Urushi pens, the prices for these pens align with other similar pens from different manufacturers. While these are certainly luxury offerings, the pricing is not out of line in my opinion.

Yeah, the nibs are a size too small for both of them. King of Pens and Pro Gear/1911L 21k would have suited them better.

Although the artistry may be very high, I find the colors choices to be looking childishly.
I'm like fiber nibs but because Japanse nibs trend to have feedback already, I prefer western fine and extra fine nibs.
So these are not for me.
