When you're playing as khorne, your biggest strength (ironically enough) is chaos. Chaos on the battlefield; if your enemy is the type to have frontlines, backlines and cavalry then you need to disrupt their ability to organise as much as possible and Skarbrand is the best at that because practically nothing can pin him down and he can and should run around like chaos incarnate.
Specially with Daemon units that are not shielded. I'm in love with Belakor right now, but fighting Missile units is a PITA. However, it presents the most fun sending in Warhounds, feigning Horsemen charges, and sending any flying units just to disrupt unit formations giving the front line clear skies to push.
Legend was playing as Frodo cheesing Sauron with a doom stack of Samwise the Exalted Hero and a single Monsterous Unit - Smeagol. They get Stalk ability when not near Legendary Lords.
Skarbrand at some point just becomes dynasty warriors with a top down perspective. Playing his campaign, i would almost always just park my army somewhere, and rush in with skarbrand because he's simply one of the best one man doomstacks in total war
I know you did one a little over a year ago, but hopefully we can get an updated "most fun" tierlist in the future. That was an interesting video. I think we've had two DLC's since then, and so 6 legendary lords (and good ones, at that), as well as faction/race reworks. Not sure if it is enough for you to justify another list already (up to you, I would dig it), but I think in the coming year, after another update, it would be an awesome revisit for sure.
That's the Warhammer tactic - your Cards. Your main Lord. Your winds of magic capacity. Your Summons. Your heroes. And finally, your units go in to clean up what's left.
@@hansgerman3437as far as I remember, it was only for large entity units like cavalry. Legendary lords don't seem to work at all at the moment. I was playing Arbaal and Skulltaker back to back and thought it might have been the Jaggernaut mount to cause this but even Skarbrand doesn't do any splash attack
No the problem was for single entities to get collision they must be charging. The info on the unit needs to say "charging" or it won't trigger the damage. That's why it's remember your ABCs always be charging. Running isn't good enough.
Fun fact about using the units don't die ability on summons is not only does it keep them around longer after their time runs out but it actually resets their time so they don't immediately crumble away after it wears off. Problem is they would have the absolute bare minimum health so they will crumble very shortly but it gives an extra 2-3 seconds after the ability has worn off.
Hit and run tactics really work well with big lords like Skarbrand. N'Kari is another one, faster but also squishier. But love the spin attacks it does.
luckily your rescue squad is not too tired. Yes depleted units like that make you glad your Morale is Khornish and they are game to peck away. closing ground on obstructed paths for them to range you helps..The great way to beat an enemy is to war game as them.
Legend can you advice me on how to build Ogre armies? I thought that building with only ogre units was the best thing to do, instead they get their ass kicked very easily, should i use gnoblars aswell?
Hey Legend you probably won't see this but I'd really be interested in seeing a 'My top 5 hardest disaster battles' type video because I really enjoy when you are given a proper challenge. Like this comment if you agree so he can see it.
I feel like Khorne has the best punishment for ranged units anyway: being in melee (harpies, dogs, or summon from beyond if you need to catch up with them)
@@hawkv150 Well yeah but it would make sense that he would give someone the gift to make guns, arrows and other missiles burn. Seems like an interesting anti-eltharion LL. (or maybe a ranged focused khorne lord).
All these Khorne videos are cool and almost make me want to cave and finally play the faction, but damn Skulltaker is destroying the Lustria Bowl. I'm playing as Rakarth and trying to figure out how to defend against them. Any advice?
Best strategy is to clump them up and hit them with spells. They are infantry based armies so anything fast moving that can skirmish them down will do. Their strength is melee so deny them that melee or overwhelm them with magic.
I have always disliked the way to do the most damage to a unit with things like skarbrand is to attack the unit behind it. It is unintuitive, like why do i do more damage by not targeting the unit i want to kill lol. Should do that charge animation on the unit i click instead of limp dicking into it.
Total War Lordhammer! Honestly i dont know why they put units in this game if the buffed lords and heroes can solo armies. Buff stacking is so crazy that you, indeed, only need a leveled lord to win all the battles. It is kinda sad...
Big difference between "winning" and "winning playing as". For example if I just completed a campaign with Helman Ghorst, why would I do it again so soon? If someone has never played Skarbrand they want to try him out and see what he can do.
Last time I was this early, Skarbrand still had functioning wings
So the biggest mistake you could make with Skarbrand is actually using his army as anything other than moral support...gotchu
Yep. That is how he play.

Where was "Legend of Total War" when Rohan failed in Edoras and almost in Hornburg/Helm Deep in the "War of the Rohirrims"?

Skarbrand being too aggressive is new !

riveting
Skarbrand needs no army, he is the army.

Flagellants creepin around here!
Blood for the blood god endeed
Had the same issue. Splash attack seems to be not working at all, at least for LLs
Thought that they fixed that with the latest hotfix.
Yeah I noticed as well something feels off about splash damage still not 100% fixed
Archaon was struggling to kill anything with 700 AP WS
@@hansgerman3437 they only fixed it for monstrous units like ogres for example, not single entities i think
@@misio070 Guess that explains why Skarbrand hit's units like a wet noodle in this.

i would have brought all the bloodletters in with the current reforging chance they would have probably all come back with more health than before

you give Legend Skarbrand and ask IF a minor settlement battle can be done?
the answer will always be yes
Ok, I guess I could play another Skarbrand campaign...

That is really clever, I dont really play Khorne so I hadnt thought of that, if there were some more skull shooting units it would be a great faction
I got my first very Hard campain done yesterday 😊 as Karl Franz
I think the collision attack did not work sometimes because it is charging uphill

Collision dmg only incurs during a charge. Walking through does not cause collision damage

Some faction names are really dangerous, say "a Nuln settlement" too sloppily and someone understands "anal settlement"...

Personally im tired of seeing u its with over 100 speed failing to catch units at 70 or 80 and just get kited forever.
