Positioning the garrison forces like that reminds me of when Tywin forced Tyrion to stand out front with the Stone Crows, using them all as a meat shield for the real army lol
Look at the minimap he took the sea route there and crossed from the instimus of lustria to reach ikit. The only reason that I can think for that is that he wants to eliminate clan skryre before the vemintide because they are BY FAR the createst nightmare in game to deal in battle. After the vemintide you can only defeat them by flooding them with high tier auto resolve armies because of you fight those battles the nukes will erradicate all your non single entities 1 battle after the other. And if you spread your units, the skaven ranged weapons tear them to pieces
@@deni140492deni Exactly how I did it, had campaign fatigue at that point so I just sent three armies all with lightning strike and just auto resolved away.

LegendofCheeze, grabing the enemy by their tails and forcing a knot into them before kicking their @$$ into oblivion XD Jezzails are really dangerous against single-entity units and high-level infantry, they can even down cavalry if it comes straight at them. Tragically, Ickit no longer gets Regeneration through the Second Wind Serum, instead only heals when casting spells, that´s VERY irritating.
@@randomaccessfemale In TWWII he got a Regeneration through the Second Wind Serum. But in the third game they changed quite a few things, Ickit´s Serum being just one of them.

This is like two armies sending out their champions, both sides also double crossing each other but only one side honoring the agreement by retreating from the field. Too bad for rats, cathayans are not picky eaters.
The reason auto-resolves values your battle less is because auto-resolves values damage taken on Lords to an absurd degree. In another battle you might not lose a single unit, but if a Legendary Lord took 90% of its health in damage (even if it regenerated back all of it) than you barely won, according to the game.
My only question is: what in the emperors name is Cathay doing all the way there? It looks like something the AI would pull off to spite the player, travelling all that way to fight them. And by the looks of the fog of war, they've purposefully used the sea lane so it's been a hot minute to travel there.
GOOD OL CONRICH, I swear every time I play against the Skaven they put that guy in the absolute worst position, by himself, and it's always Conrich for some reason. That guy needs a raise (or some growth juice)
I feel like the labels of battles as "decisive", "close", "pyrrhic" etc in Warhammer Total War (at least III) make no sense at all. Back in Rome when I started playing Total War I rarely disagreed with the labels, but when I win a battle in WH3 it feels like the game just pulls a label out of its rear. "This one... yeah that's pyrrhic." "That one, uh... decisive."
the decisive vs close victory heavily favours units *not* getting wiped out the autoresolve presumably wouldn't get any units wiped out but would heavily batter all of them meanwhile you lost a few garrison units but saved the models on the others
That's a naughty army Ikit has by AI standards. Don't get me wrong, AI clan Scryre usually runs weapons teams, but nearly all weapon teams is a new one on me. Trade out the infantry for artillery, and that's a bonifide doomstack.
If it were me, i would have just yoloed into ikit, but placed my units so the jezzails delete one or two units before all the units behind them engage in melee, a column attack
I keep seeing comments about how the game rates the wins. Whats the deal with that? A wins a win riiight? No really, what does it matter if it's a decisive or anything else by the games standard?
Ammo used, hp lost or straight up lying. For example a ratling gun skyre army with infinite ammo tends to be favored in autoresolve(even though it sucks without micro). In hardest difficulty IA gets insane buffs to all stats so even if you win it is always either close or phyrric
@ZeroFormLak yes butt, I'm wondering what it means besides how much you've won. Does it impact how the ai sees you, a hidden mechanic of some kind or just the game going 'you've won, butt not very good by my standards'?
@Dracowinges its mostly to say how great the cost or hard the battle was. But for some reason sometimes you win with zero casualties but basically no ammo on your missile units so games is like *Most i can give is close victory*, other times you lose literally half your army and the units that survived are with one foot on the grave and game will say *Heroic victory*. Apart from that there is really not that much difference other than telling how well you did
@@Dracowinges I believe that a better victory will net you more experience for your army/characters. Multiple Pyrrhic victories will give you a nice trait where your lord gets up to 20% bonus HP, so it can be beneficial for some lords to accept a bad auto-resolve win if the losses aren't too extreme.
@@ZeroFormLak The AI only gets a 10% overall boost to their base stats in WH3. In WH2 it was 20%. Ranged units also had significantly more dps in WH2, so that's why melee infantry units were not considered viable.
