- Welcome back, folks! Today, I'm thrilled to deliver on the much-requested demand for more Wilma content, and guess what? It's a special treat - her very first show!
Towards the end of last year, we decided to take Wilma to our local venue for some combined training, which is a dressage test followed by a showjumping round. Our expectations weren't high - just aiming to give Wilma some valuable experience. Amidst a few endearing "baby pony moments," I couldn't be prouder of her performance. Excuse the very vlog-style format, it was just Pete and I heading off in the Liberty Horse Box, so he was camera man and groom bless him. I hope you thoroughly enjoy the journey with us! 🐴✨

Can’t believe how quick you and Wilma are progressing
The black jacket looks great, especially for dressage. Dressage is ultra-classy and the phase to dress more traditionally in. If you like the navy too, you can use that for SJ! Wilma was fab for being a baby and such a busy and chaotic venue. My horse would have lost his mind with that construction equipment haha.
The first thing I thought was how nice the black jacket and white breeches looked. Very smart.
Wlma looks so grown up here at the start...plaited...something about being dark, but also that lovely flowing movement she's got. That tiny spook, the quick recovery...wonderful for a first show. Canter is silky smooth. And that halt!!!

The black and white is very fetching, on board such a beautiful and equally matched horse, you have got to live up to Wilma’s standard now. 😚
I thought that went really well considering, remember that you and Wilma are still in the early stages of your training as a new team, so don’t be too critical, as long as you are learning and understand how things can be improved, that’s all that matters.
When you said, that you could sense Wilma was getting distracted, I thought about what Rich would say, about keeping the contact on and how you need to keep her engaged with with your legs, your seat/body and your hands.

Outstanding first competition! You picked the right girl; what a gorgeous darling! Exciting times ahead. I love the buttons on the Lemieux jacket, the diamond shape is really cool, but still classic. I ride in navy, but in North America, you would be right at home in a black jacket with white breeches; looked great!
