I make a no knead ciabatta every night before bed... only takes a few minutes. 18 hours later throw that dough on a pan and 30 minutes later it's heaven. We have been eating a loaf per day. Flour, salt, yeast & water. I don't have the hand strength anymore to knead & not dragging out that heavy mixer. Recipe is from chef John...he is a hoot.
add and wipe the honey measuring cup with a tad of oil before you put it in the measuring cup and honey will come out without sticking to measuring cup , make it all come out so easy :-)
I'm making this today 😊 I used half whole wheat when I made it before with excellent results! Patera didn't mention how well this bread slices. I've made plenty of bread that was good but not for sandwiches. This bread slices like a dream. I used it for sandwiches and toast....delicious!😋
Your bread recipe is AWESOME and deserves this title!!! I made this bread following your recipe, half in my Lodge loaf pan, half cinnamon rolls in my Le Creuset skillet and it came out AWESOME!!! I am not a baker either, and I've NEVER made bread from scratch!!! WOW!
Nice crumb to your bread! You obviously have been making bread for a long time. Thank you for teaching us city dwellers how to do what has been done for centuries! We do need to get back to nature and the simple life!
Patara girl, You are an inspiration. My bread has always come out dense as a brick. I made this bread and rolls today. It's delicious - soft and yummy. Hubby is having a roll with his chili now. Thanks for sharing. From New Hampshire with love.
It's 47degrees here today so we're gonna make this and warm up our kitchen.. I just watched your newest video about your bread making dream with your son and realized I haven't made bread since last fall so I'm in need of practice!!
I HAD to come back on and say I made this yesterday and WOO HOO!!!!!!!!! Success!!!!!!! What an awesome recipe and how easy it is to follow! Great results, THANK YOU!!!
I made this bread with no sweetener and it turned out amazing. Thanks for sharing a recipe that is so utilitarian and flexible. Love your get it done attitude :)
I made this bread last night and LOVE it. ((and i'm not very good in the kitchen)) I am so very glad for the video and will share it all over the place.
I got into making bread, trying to do it over a fire in a dutch oven with my Son's scout troop. Someone brought a book titled "Ratio"... shows you how to bake, with simple math. We use a scale to weigh stuff, we can't be sifting and measuring on a scout campout. :) They have a recipe very similar to yours. If I can make bread anyone can make bread. Although I grind my own flower by hand and use 50% store bought, and 50% fresh ground... it's a little denser, but it's still good bread. I do cheat and use the mixer to kneed it, after grinding the flour I figure I've worked hard enough.
I have baked bread for years in aluminum, silicon, ect. but I really want a set of those cast iron pans. Your bread looked awesome, and I bet the house smelled heavenly!
made it today. THANK YOU! Great Bread, the video was very helpful. My husband loved it (I don't eat bread right now but loved making it.) I made it half whole wheat and half all purpose flour with ground sunflowers mixed in.
Looks real good to me! That's how I like things......quick and easy! Your blue and white Corelle is the same as mine. I've had it for many years. Thanks for a great video!
Love my grandma's lodge, gave my daughter my mom's when she passed, try to add to my collection when able. So right you cannot beat a lodge. You also cannot beat an easy bread recipe.
Patara, this bread......there are no words. I'm not a baker either, but I am certainly going to try this out! You have such a beautiful knack for kneading bread. It just looks as natural to you as breathing! That loaf bread and those rolls are just mouth watering! Thanks so much for sharing!!
Wow can’t wait to try this- I have bought 4 pieces of Lodge cookware over the last month. I will have to add a loaf pan to my collection soon. Amazon is currently out of stock on loaf pan.
How nice I got to try this I'm just getting started n making homemade it's been years I been lazy got all my gear but slacking I got step my game up Good blessed me you rock keep up the good work thanks"
Oh WOW ... that looks so yummy ... I need to do that for sure, yep, I think that is what I am gonna do today ... Thanks for sharing .. Love your videos
Going to try this. I tried a different sourdough recipe than the one I used previously, but the whole deal took many hours of rising and the bread did not rise as much as I thought it would. (Yes I realize this is not sourdough.)It tastes delicious but I would rather have bread on the same day. Thanks for sharing. Best wishes from the Southwestern corner of good old Tennessee!
Hi I just recently came across your channel and wow you are awesome!! Anyway just want to say thank you this bread is amazing!! Have a great day and may the Lord bless you and keep you☺
This recipe turned out great. The honey was a great addition, translating into a subtle sweetness very complimentary to bread.....My mistake was not checking the barometer for humidity before starting the bread. When I finally did, it read 98%...SOOOO, even after a whole 7 cups of bread flour, the batter was very wet and sticky, and it took about a total of 8.5 cups of flour after it was all said and done. If you live along the Gulf of Mexico coast, you'll find these conditions starting in April.....This bread is good for beginners----if you have a humid environment, try a half recipe first to see if more flour will be required.....With all that said, I will go back to this easy and delicious bread recipe over and over again.
It looks like the King Arthur Flour bread recipe that I used before switching to Sourdough for all my bread. Have you ever made barley pancakes with sourdough starter? It's to die for. :o) Love that nice heavy bread pan . . . I'm going to keep my eye out for one of those. I just made your buttermilk biscuits recipe today. I'm eating them right now :o)
NOw I know why Grandma had forearms like Popeye. She made bread and rolls the way they did in Poland. All by hand. Oh, those were the days when you used lard and real butter right from the farm.
Just a little tip when your using honey, peanut butter, molasses anything sticky. Oil your measuring utensil either spritz it with cooking spray or a little oil on a paper towel and wipe it inside whatever your using to measure the sticky goo it will come right out
What is the name of your sunflower oil and where can one get it? Haven't really been happy with any oils, just use a good margarine. So maybe the sunflower will work for me.

She sounds like Sandy from SpongeBob 😂
I'm making this today 😊

Patera didn't mention how well this bread slices.
I've made plenty of bread that was good but not for sandwiches.
This bread slices like a dream.
I used it for sandwiches and toast....delicious!😋
My mouth is watering. Nothing better than warm bread, butter and honey.
WOW!
I just made this with 2 cups hand ground wheat, 1 cup almond four and 4 cups gf mix and it actually worked really well. Thank you for the recipe 😘
Nice crumb to your bread! You obviously have been making bread for a long time. Thank you for teaching us city dwellers how to do what has been done for centuries! We do need to get back to nature and the simple life!
I come back to this recipe over and over..... it's a rainy day so soup and rolls are on the menu!
Thank you! xo

Just a tip for anyone looking for vintage, quality cast iron; try ebay. Search for Griswold. Absolutely the best.
It looks like the King Arthur Flour bread recipe that I used before switching to Sourdough for all my bread. Have you ever made barley pancakes with sourdough starter? It's to die for. :o)
