The one thing that bothers me about Gil is that he doesn’t have his own crit buff despite being one of the few servants who is pretty much self sufficient when it comes to making stars for hinself. They should buff his second skill with some kind of crit buff.

@@FemkjeMW I should have better explained this. Singles are definitely better if you’re going for a specific ce or servant. Multis are still better if you want more ces like in an event. Unfortunately in the end it’s all luck

finish his strengthening quests, level skills, pair with proper supports (Waver, Hans, Merlin, Shakespeare etc.) Honestly use whatever you feel is best for your play style. Arjuna has high sustain, good star gen, great np gen. Gilgamesh has a powerful np with consistent medium crit dmg thanks to star absorb and great farming utility (which is arguably 90% of FGO) as well as access to buster brave chains. He can also loop thanks to his second skill and proper setup. Both however don't have any defensive evade or invulnerability so they need to be protected by other means.
This has to be the best joke i've ever seen. Saying Gil (who is one of the best archer in the game) not just weak, but really REALLY weak and then proceed to compare him with archer Arjuna (which is one of the worst SSR in the game).

not a strengthening quest, but he did need a buff. two buffs, even.

I mean he is a gen 1 servant (servants released in 1st year of fgo) so most had been pretty weak and needed several buffs.

Why didn't Gil gain NP when using his third skill? Was it changed?
Because he didn't yet do the interlude. In fact this video is him doing Gilgamesh's 3rd Interlude to buff the 3rd skill into an NP battery
