To be fair he used the snakeskin that was made after he got the herb my guess is that the grail in that war summoned a version of him before he mellowed out after being humbled by fate. The grail can only summon a version of that heroic spirit up to the time the relic used to summon the heroes is attached to.

But I believe that the table itself was intact through Mordred's life and even itself lived throigh the life of King Aurthur so since the relic went past Mordred's death it summoned her as she was. Also she was summoned with the greater grail which was far more powerful than a lesser grail which summoned Altaria so the rules may not be the same since it is so much stronger. From what I've seen they never go into HOW and why particular servants get into their classes. Considering Cú from Bladeworks could also be summoned as a caster as seen in Grand Order.

Even the outcome is incredibly well done, I have to admit this anime is one of the very rarest to reach the highest mark, remembered for ever.
Mmmmh...to be honest without Gigamesh and Merlin it would have been a cluster of cheap comic gags, it's far from been as good as the titles of the main storyline.
The only Singularities worthy of being compared to them are Camelot and Shimousa

@@lorenzovismara9385 He wasn't corrupted. In fact, the mud grail had no effect on him since his ego was too great. Staying in a world vastly different from his own for 10 years was what changed him drastically. He hated the experience and it wrecked him.
M B he wasn’t corrupted, he was distorted. Since the Grail couldn’t overwhelm his ego it crystallized its evilness inside him and once Gilgamesh got reincarnated in a human body he slowly started to suffer its influence. That's also the cause of the connection between Gilgamesh and the Holy Grail and the reason why in UBW the Grail tries to absorb Gil after it looses its core and why (after Artoria destroys it) the gate momentarily reopens from his body.

Actually the Holy Grail that manifests during the Fifth Holy Grail War of Fuyuki is the 726th ever appeared on Earth.
It's not important if it's the true one or a fake, as long as it gathers enough magical energy to to act on a scale almost equal to sorcery

@@germsspices since they tend to use something that belonged to the individual or they used something important (like in Fate Stay night they summoned Hercules by using a piece of his temple) since Gil came in contact with the actual holy grail it could be used to summon him as a Caster
