If you aren’t using a Meister skill why not choose Warfarer? You can have the exact same build, but have the flexibility of equipment and the ability to change skills at a campfire for situational needs.
This is what I do. I love my endgame Trickster gear, and I think it looks really cool with sword and shield (and has surprisingly high defense stats). The only downside to using Warfarer over Fighter is the slightly reduced base stats. But I think the stats from high tier gear mostly make up for this.
You should give shield bash a try over burst strike. Gives you nice opening and almost always knocks down, or stuns enemies for an easy crit strike/gutting skewer. Also good against the enemies weak to strike, and very good at exposing the weak spots of things like the rock rattler enemies.
I run Shield Pummel over Vengeful Strike. Vengeful Strike feels like you are just sitting there fishing for counterhits. Shield Bash can knock small opponents down, opening them up for critical hits and possibly send them off cliffs or into the water. Flawless Guard is your "get out of stun" skill.
100% they never leave my skills. Skyward and Skewer are my other two. Just feels like none of the other skills offer the same versatility. However, everything is viable in this game.
If you’re using vengeful slash by just sitting there, you’re using it wrong. Parry with it for insane damage instead of just sitting there. Hindsight slash is the same thing but actually requires you to dodge at the right time for massive damage or else the damage is just moderate.
I go with as much knockdown power I can get. Makes smaller enemies flinch, which let's you follow up with a heavy to deal extra damage almost always killing them. It also makes the revenge counter attack knock down bosses or start them teetering over.
For the actual best augments you want Mettle Apotropaism Constancy Dominance Dynamism The last slot is personal preference. The best rings are two Rings of Vehemence Also make sure everything is 3 Dwarven smithing
i'll take notes from the skills and augments, but i'll be using different weapons and armour: Iron Helm, Guardian Plate & Leg Armour, Wyrmhunter's Cloak, Iron Sword and Daughter of the Evening/Dragon's Faith. my plan's to be a simple adventurer. the better stuff's for my Pawn, who's also a Fighter: Marcher's Helm, Knightly Brigandine, Lionel Hosen (maybe another leg armour, but i've yet to determine what), Expeditioner's Cloak, Broadsword and Lustrous Targe. plan's to make him a good option for anyone lookng for a Fighter Pawn.
hmm idk I'd say goin for Knockdown def and attack Augments Is better than having a bit more Health/Defense/Stamina. I'd also swap out the Rings for 2 Knockdown Rings (Dont know their name) and try to get Dwarf Smithing ASAP.
Party Comp should look something like this: -Mage (Support) -Sorcerer (Dps from range) And then for the last pawn you could run warrior to help in the front line or just throw in a sorcerer again. Sorcerers are masters at elemental and ranged attack and can seriously dish out damage. Never run 2 mages in my opinion. A mage doesn’t have the damage potential of some of the other classes and will very quickly get overwhelmed. You as a fighter should be holding agro the whole time. You are the vanguard and your shield is your best weapon as it gives your sorcerers the chance to pump the damage. Unless you are running a warrior with you in the front line, then by all means destroy the enemies before they break your defence. Great video btw🫡 Consider using divine protection (stupidly effective and can protect pawns from harm as well)
I am on my second playthrough in New game plus. Trying to get Soldiers code and I have max affinity and did the escourt quest to the statue and have the vocation unlocked. I still can't get him to drop this. I also checked Ibrams Shop it's not there either. Might have to start a new game just to get this achievement for all meister skills.
Yeah that sounds bugged. The only thing I can suggest is to try and give him a single Wyrmscrystal or whatever the Drakes drop and see if that does anything. If he doesnt then yeah most def bugged
@@Snikkii15 Uh, im not sure if it maxes it out, but I do know that just a single one is enough to get his affinity up high enough to give you the Meister skill I for example failed the quest with the woman in that town and thought I missed out on the skill, but when I gave him one he immediately gave me the skill
im also on new game plus with same gear, skipped all the melve quest, do the quest in vernsworth "oxcart courier" turn it all in go back to Lennart give him a wrymscrystal and he gave me the tome on the spot, the oxcart courier quest gives you the option to "gift him" if you cant when you first try. I didnt even have to do the melve questline.
the augments are all over the place imo. Verve only gives 30 strengh, wich is weak. better get lethality (+5% dmg on weakpoints) or Ambuscade (+10%dmg when enemy is not in fighting stance). Avidity from archer and Vigor from thief is also nice when you wanna go full on gutting skewer. Provocation and the ring with the same effect help you get the vengeful slashs out, since youre the only one in the group that gets attacked.
A very interesting build 🤔 I mastered the first D. Dogma playing alone with the assassin class because the "Autonomy" skill gives you more attack and defense if you play without companions. Can this second part be played the same? Thank you. All the best🙋🏻
I've been testing it and unfortunately no it doesn't only parrying activates it which is weird because vengeful slash is somewhat a deflect but I guess it's considered a counterattack instead..
@@ColdBwoyy no they dont some are % based you can find a list of the numbers for example the defence one is good its a 30% the health only adds 200 doesnt help much the stamina for climbing is also very good
I love figther style. I prefer using shield pommel, to stagger easily ennemies or push them aside and also because its fun and the best way to push Beren from the fighting circle without difficulty the first time 😅, then I have vengeful slash because thats make huge amount of damage and can easily kill multiple ennemies at once, and well done can also knock down big ennemies, gutting skewer because its excessively powerful once on clinging to monsters, and burst strike to close gap between ennemies. I would not use cloudward slash, just because thats not an easy aim skill, i find it not very efficient, instead I prefer waiting a bit againts harpies and fellows to stike first while I am using vengeful slash, it always take them down, knocked down, and then only need a big attack to finish and rince and repeat... its clean and I prefer it... oh and I never feel useless without cloudward slash at all, you just run cling and use different method and can actually be more efficient this way. I find cloudward slash to be not as efficient as it sounds like.

I agree! It's nice to have a bow or magic bow in your back pocket for situations. Also, wand for exploration!
Being a wayfarer with heavy armor and 4 magik archer skills is crazy

Love the warfaer for this. The Almac ice sword and the dragons dogma is just nuts. Ultimate dragon slayer

90 hours in and i think Fighter is probably my favorite class to play
Have you tried thief or mystic spear hand?
Fighter or thief is most satisfying imo

what endgame helmet would you use?
Awesome build! No riotous fury tho for offence?
Gutting skewer is my fav skill in the game! So satisfying and brutal!
Riotous fury is great! I just prefer this specific setup of skills over anything else. Works really well!
Impale works fine.

Thanks a lot! I’m glad you enjoy them because I love making these videos 🙏🏻
Very nice thank you for your video. But at high level, you wouldn’t need a tank, just use thieves and a mage.
I wonder if the ring of requital activates off vengeful slash
I would image so since you’re deflecting right? 🤔
tbh builds in DD for fighter at least are all the same xD with maybe 1 skill difference, they really could have done a better job with the skills IMO

Yes, definitely
What forge/upgrades did you use on on gear?
I would drop cloudward slash for meister skill...
Glad to see Gutting Skewer getting some recognition!
its the best skill in the game vs big monsters. i cheesed the endboss with it, while eating endurance recovery roborans nonstop XD
