Finally saw Jonny about 3-4 years ago. Was the backup band touring with Buddy Guy. Remember when he was 15 blowing up the scene. Amazing talent that got in a little over his head. It happens, especially when you are that young and everyone wants a piece of you. He lived to tell the tale and still puts on a great show and will blow you away. If you get a chance, don't miss it!
Take a listen to 'Matchbox' just as cool. Like you I've only just got into him. Heard him on a country station of all things and he stopped me in my tracks. Matchbox has a 50s feel about it.

I remember thinking "how good can a 14 year old kid from NoDak be at playing and singing the blues?" With the exception of devoting 50 some years to watching the damned Vikings, I've never been so wrong in my life. He's right up there with Peggy Lee, as far as incredible NoDak talent goes.
