Another streamer around your size, Crystaaal, does this same thing: channel for stream VODs available same day, and a second channel for edited VODs. It feels like an excellent model in general for streamers who reach a certain size
I hope you continue to prioritize the long form content. The thing is, people can skip gameplay sections of the VOD if they only want to see reactions to story content. I confess, going forward I will probably not watch the tutorial section at the beginning. But in an edited video, you can't access omitted content. Anyway, I just want to say that I really and genuinely enjoy your reactions to exploring the map, learning the battle system, defeating uniques, etc. I know it took a couple years, but thank you for playing through my favourite game and letting me vicariously relive the magic of experiencing it for the first time.
Speaking personally, I throughly enjoy these longer videos. Not only does it make my work day go by, but I get to experience, in this case, XC3 all over again but from another fans perspective. It’s been really awesome revisiting Aionios, and reliving those feelings I had during my first play through, so thank you!
I'm not really one for live streams and watching for hours, the VODs come out pretty quickly afterward and I can skip through at my leisure, so this channel works really well for me. Being adult takes up a lot of time, as you yourself said are finding with being a dad. The convenience of the VODs is quite ideal.
I love seeing both uploads, but I think I enjoy the longer ones more because we can see the whole reaction over just short clips, especially for those who are just now finding your content and missed old streams.
Really appreciate how quickly you get the VODs up on this channel. I managed to catch a stream the other day and was glad I wasn't missing any "lost content" that hadn't hit the vod channel yet. That said, I know there are people out there who don't like to sift through such long vods just to get to the good content who want to see. I hope you can find a good way to make some good main channel content out of the Xenoblade 3 vods, and out of the other games you play.
Can confirm we love the VODs. Not only do we get to see the content sooner, but we just get more of it more consistently. You've been absolutely smashing Xenoblade 3 brother. I love seeing how hyped you've been getting at the story, and you're only at the start of the game! I wouldn't be surprised if you call this one your favorite when it's all said and done.
Oh hey, it's the guy! With the mods! Wayne here. I'd like your opinion, you've been in the modding scene for longer... how do you think people would react if I changed my model swaps to look inward by default? And players would have to sit at a campfire each time they start the game, to deliberately bug out *_(but effectively recenter)_* their characters' eyes for the rest of their session? Note that this 'solution' would introduce new problems: -the swapped character's eyes alyways look inward at the start of a *Chain Attack,* and in the *Menu* -the campfire only works with the *Default Costume.* I've been sitting on this update for a while now, but I dunno if it wouldn't be better to just keep waiting for a proper Xenoblender solution... that may or may not come.
@The_Endless_Now I'm not sure I quite understand what you mean when you say "look inward by default." I will say that having to sit at a campfire every time you turn the game back on would be a bit annoying. The chain attack thing would also be odd to see. I'd say just hold off for now.
I adore the edited uploads but I've grown to prefer the VODs cause I love the more subtle reactions and thinking that tends to get cut in the videos (for obvious reasons cause no normal gamer is going to want to see someone think for several minutes sometimes) mainly due to studying game design and wanting to understand how many players think in puzzles and combat situations. Take your time with the edited videos btw, TH-cam's algorithm is a pain. I'm super excited to get into Xenoblade Chronicles very soon!
I enjoyed watching your video through VOD's, Dee. I watched your streaming at Twitch, but ended up in a sleeping time because here 8 pm in Jakarta. So, when you're streaming until 4 hours, 11 pm here. 😅 So that's why, I watched through here in this channel, whenever I wanted when I have time.. Go for it, Dee. Always love your content both in main channel and VOD's. Keep up the good work!
Been watching your fromsoft stuff on here and it's been so awesome being able to catch up on stuff that I couldn't watch the stream for. Thanks deebee!
Thanks for this, Dee. I can’t always make the Twitch streams, so trying to get the VODs out quickly on your end is much appreciated. If this is an easier format for you for time/edit purposes, then that’s fine. And yeah, I also get the business sense, and respect your reasoning for your outlined decisions here. Also have mad respect for your DeeBeeDad priorities! Keep up the great work, DeeBeeGang!
I love the vods and I’m struggling to catch the livestream times at the moment, so I’m loving that they’re all coming up on here. I like the shorter versions too, but I’ll often just binge-watch a playlist from start to finish and get all of your reactions ❤
It's ok, Dee. Most of us know you're working, and the ones who don't get it might someday figure it out. If they don't, that's not your fault. You put family in the correct place: 1st. Love you for that alone.
I appreciate the vods for a key reason: I work nights. I am often asleep at the time most people are streaming, or barely can catch an hour in most cases. I also have a need for long form content to make work more enjoyable as 4 hour long videos covers half a work night. Vods are for listening. The edited stuff on the main channel is for watching. They fill distinctly different needs, despite being essentially the same content. BTW, aside from the agonizing over rookie mistakes from a viewer's perspective, the reactions to everything so far has been elite. There is so much left and so many great character moments to come that I kinda just want to see the day when you can just sit and talk about the totality of the series in all of it's spoilery goodness after Future Redeemed. X included, depending on what they add storywise.
I'm glad things are going great for u and i'm loving your Xenoblade 3 playthrough, makes me wanna do a new game + run with all the new classes unlocked. Also keep in mind that its the holiday season soon and for some already, so alot of people have plenty of time to watch your Vods at home while doing other stuff on the side so that probably also helps with your views. All in all, just have fun and we will as well :)
I really love the long vods cuz everyone wants to see you experience different aspects of gameplay or moments that they loved, and if I’m not completely interested in something that’s happening, I can just skip ahead. And like someone else said, it’s something you can enjoy watching throughout the day!
Ik this probably doesn't help, but I love ANY and ALL content you and your team put on the channels. But, speaking as a mom, you do whatever works best for you and your family. I'm here for it ALL ❤
Ok this explains why the edited version disappeared from my watch later playlist. Anyway I get what you say and having an up-to-date VODs channel is always a good thing. In general I think this was a special case however because people were really looking forward to this gameplay of yours, but maybe with other games or series people would be more inclined to wait for a more condensed version. In this specific instance I actually was waiting for the edited versions because I don't have much time right now but I wanted to watch your journey but I guess I'll stick with the VODs for now and I'll check the edited versions later.
I usually wait for the edited version of the stream but somehow ended up watching these vods instead. Still watching the edited version too tho cause the editing cracks me up 😂
I just saw this video pop up on my home page so I had to click on it because it's been such a long time since I saw one I thought you stopped making content. I changed my notifications from personalized to all because I remembered I liked some of your content, not everything, that would be suck up and a lie but I found your Irish self interesting, your accent and expressions are a fun change compared to my Canadian self. It was your Zelda BOTW that hooked me in and made me subscribe even if I saw anime stuff from you before. I saw you have videos of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom which I haven't played and you're also playing Minecraft, even as an old fart it's one of my favorite games so I'll be watching those playlists as well for sure. Have a good one !!!
I like both, the VOD because its same day and the edited because its short and condensed. Have yiu considered the edited version to be alll cut scenes. Some ppl may like to see youtubers cut scenes reactions. There is a channel i like Mystics Library which I enjoy.
I like the main channel for the funny editing, but it's also nice to sometimes throw on a full length video and have it on in the background when I'm doing some housework or something.
VODs are great, currently watching your Gears 3 series and I love it! Kastaclysm and Amalee/monarch also have Vod channels for missed live stream viewers.
I honestly think I prefer edited content, but even more than that I want uncensored content. Also, I was surprised by the length of the video. It was half as long as the VOD, but still two hours. That could have been like six separate videos! At the end of the day, I'll watch whatever is first available even if it took me a week to get through that first stream.
I like the longer reaction more and love how much you enjoy the game. allready looking forward to watch the next VOD of your now ongoing stream later when I have time.
Year and a half?! Dear gawd my time-sense is trash. Anyway I personally love longer vods just for the simple fact that it gives me plenty of content for when I'm doing household chores. Appreciate it and all the entertainment you provide Dee.
Thank you! I don’t really like Twitch because it has too many ads and that makes my device freeze. But I enjoy your streams so I’ll be excited to follow along here!
Being an IT guy I had a client ask once for a hardware recommendation for their 12 year old to get into content streaming. When I laid out what it really takes I doubt she'd even let her kids watch YT any more. Content I'd like to see that would probably be a good fit for the main YT channel would be edited vids playing classic fan selected titles that wouldn't do well on a stream. Perfect example would be Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon on N64. It's less than 10hrs and so comically cheesy.
This is slightly off topic but considering you mentioned not wanting to be consumed by your online presence... Ever since I first watched one of your playthroughs (botw) I feel compelled to try to convince you to get into narrating audiobooks 😅 I love your voice acting so much, you would be an amazing narrator! So I really hope you will consider it... now or in the future, when you maybe wanna spend less time in front of a camera 😉
I work a job that just isn't conducive for watching streamers live, but I do like to have VODs on in the background while doing chores or making meals. So I definitely appreciate it.
Well not that it matters I watch full and edited episodes multiple times honestly because you're my favorite TH-camr re-watching your videos make me feel better if I'm having a bad day and honestly I wish I could be like you but I have no personality and I struggle with technology but I hope you keep making good videos
I personally like watching long videos. Sometimes, if I'm too occupied by other things, I skip to the next cutscene because I wanna see the reaction so badly.
Honestly, I'm the kind of guy who'd watch BOTH videos XD. I'd watch the VOD almost as a podcast (listening to it while I do something else, and maybe actually watch certain moments) because I already know the game, and then I'd watch the edited version because I like to see the editing XD. I wouldn't watch both one right after the other tho, maybe like a month apart
Normally I know this problem, but in the opposite direction. Most channels I know have short videos or highlights that performs very well, meanwhile the vod has less viewers. Most likely because more people want to "comsume" the content fast or have a short-attention spans (frickin tiktok ...). So I'm surprised your Vod have better viewer numbers than your edited content. Technically you could restructure your upload schedule a bit. After a stream you could release an edited version first, and after some time (~ one week) you release the vod. So you gain viewers through the edited videos, and if viewers like to watch more, they wait until the vod it out.
I love your videoes causes you the funniest youtuber I know and also just a amazing guy👍. I don't have plans to become a yourtuber myself, but I love the fact that you are keeping it real💪. Lastly I hope you and your family are doing well🤗🤘
I prefer to watch your Xenoblade 3 videos on your main channel. I like to see the more condensed reaction to the game. And its a real bummer you took the first X3 video from the channel because I didnt get to watch the video till the end 😢
If I could put in my 2 cents, Xenoblade 3 is for me a game with no wasted moments, so watching the entire VOD is sometimes even more enjoyable than it being edited. I do not feel the same way about Xenoblade 1 and 2 and I would have never found you if they weren't as well edited as they are. This does not mean that having an edited Xenoblade 3 video is worthless, but I think the success of the VODs channel is because the people watching on here already found you from those old edited ones. I hope more people find you through the edited XBC3 videos too! But your decision is completely understandable and most likely is a good idea in the long run
🙂You just do what you have to do, 🤝💪I'll be here supporting whatever you decide to do. But please🙏, play Zelda GOTY's of Wisdom 💚... I thought there would be a second episode 😥😢, and the truth is I think the huge amount of Zelda fans that follow you would set all the cylinders of all your channels on fire.❤🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥❤🔥
The Xeno nation does indeed enjoy long content and yes, the ability to watch your content on youtube is greatly appreciated :)
Another streamer around your size, Crystaaal, does this same thing: channel for stream VODs available same day, and a second channel for edited VODs. It feels like an excellent model in general for streamers who reach a certain size

I like this channel for 1 main reason.
I’m impatient. This gets the content out faster.

they're great

Being adult takes up a lot of time, as you yourself said are finding with being a dad. The convenience of the VODs is quite ideal.
I love both the edited videos and the vods, frankly. The little extra jokes add so much imo
I love seeing both uploads, but I think I enjoy the longer ones more because we can see the whole reaction over just short clips, especially for those who are just now finding your content and missed old streams.

I literally have thousandss of hours rewatching your videos
I can't catch your streams due to a large gap in time-zones, so having this channel here is very nice!
Yay more minecraft! I've been loving that lately!
Difficult to catch the streams live and it's easier to catch VODs on YT so I definitely appreciate this format 💜
Absolutely love the vods!
I usually wait for the edited version of the stream but somehow ended up watching these vods instead.

Given my schedule makes watching you live impossible, I for one like the option to go back and watch these VODs when I can.
Yes the vods are great
They grow up fast and you don’t wanna miss a thing in his life hard to believe he’s almost a year and a half already 😅
Well not that it matters I watch full and edited episodes multiple times honestly because you're my favorite TH-camr re-watching your videos make me feel better if I'm having a bad day and honestly I wish I could be like you but I have no personality and I struggle with technology but I hope you keep making good videos
Ditto
I got scared he was gonna say “I can’t continue putting the vods on TH-cam”😭😭
I personally like watching long videos. Sometimes, if I'm too occupied by other things, I skip to the next cutscene because I wanna see the reaction so badly.
Hey Dee! Quick question, I know it's unrelated but did you ever watch dark souls lore on stream? Will it ever be a vod?
Please put up zelda oot. I really want it long form😢
I prefer your vods to the edited ones. 😊

🖖
Yay!
Bro is just surviving on bait ahh titles these days, smh
I want the full videos. I will unsubscribe if not and also have my memory erased so that I will never even know you existed.
