Haha yes! I find the solution is to just go on to all the other great covers, afghan whigs etc. For me, this is the song with the largest amount of worthy covers, red kross, j mascis etc but the fannie's will always be best. And it has to be this version, not the one on catholic education
i;m so proud that the fannies showed our American pals what west coast rock should sound like. no one ever came close to this and this was only a small wonderful part of what this brilliant band gave use
This version is legendary, and I'll tell you why - the change up of the guitar solo, the energising of it, which wasn't present in the recorded version on "A Catholic Education", after the vocals stop, starts a bit sooner and makes it so much better, puts a certain urgency into it. that is how to improve a song. Anyway, Norman is a huge fan of Broadcast, and I love him just for that alone.
we get older every year but you don't change or i don't notice you're changing i think about it every day but only for a little while and then i feel it i'll never know which way to flow set a course that i don't know i'll never know which way to flow set a course that i don't know the wind's blowing in my face lately find it hard to keep the pace and i'm looking for a place to go but only for a little while and then the feeling i'll never know which way to flow set a course that i don't know
The best ever eveything flows! got this free with a mag in the early nineties. Changed my life! every time I hear this track It means everything to me. the guitars ring in your head forever! If you love this you understand music (nevermind came out the same year) turn the lights off! hear this track and change your life forever!!!!!
i had this version on repeat play on my walkman for a whole year.. got me through my train journey's from SE London to Old Street and back.. superb harmonies, great lead vocal.. awesome neil young esque solo by raymond.. i need this version on cd as i 've long since lost my tape..
I first heard TF on this tape that it seems so many of us had. When I heard the album version I was so disappointed. It doesn't get better than this take. thanks so much for posting - its been years since I heard this but I think about it often.
OMG I have been searching for this version for years! I lost it in a move overseas and just couldn't remember which freebie cassette I had it on. I always want to sing these vocals but they never quite work singing along with the Catholic Education version. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you for sharing 💝
this version, especially the vocals give me the shivers. found a catholic education tape in a dollar bin. the quality was crap, but i played it until i lost it. lost it years ago and still think about it. i know i'm going to find it again!
i also still have the cassette somewhere. this version should had been the one used on the deep fried fanclub cd reissued last year. and even at over six minutes it,s still way too short ,could go forever. thanks for uploading
aside from the brilliant peformance, the most amazing thing about this is the fact that the fannies appear to be essentially 5th billing on this otherwise heap o shite.
i think it came with select magazine or was the NME? anyway, i ahd it and it was the best free tape i ever got , thanks to the fannies track.. the rest of the stuff of the tape.. i can't even recall anymore!!

@mrazza69 yeah I had the same tape which came with Vox magazine. The best freebie I ever got with a mag. It had : EMF, Jesus Jones, Chapterhouse, Banderas, Paris Angels, The Dylans, Milltown Brothers, The Farm, Ned's Atomic Dustbin, Birdland, Poppy Factory, Real People, Spirea X & Teenage Fanclub.
It's about life. How you never know what it will throw at you or where you're headed. Life is a flowing river that's too complex to be understood or predicted, so you might as well go where it takes you. The phrase Everything Flows is attributed to the Greek philosopher Heraclitus, although I don't know whether Norman had him in mind when he wrote the lyrics. Hope this helps :)
This is, without a doubt, the best version
I agree. The original is still amazing though.
Yup. Best version. Cheers for posting.
Such a great song, the only problem is that the end doesn't go on for another two hours.
indeed

@@colinmclaughlin7020 the Idlewild version is brilliant.
@@sweetf2a agreed 100%. Afghan whigs version is awesome too
I concur ❤ in fact i could loop the end all afternoon 😊

My favourite song of all time. The harmonies around the 3-minute mark on this version are beautiful. Shame they can't be heard on the original.
One of the classic songs of the 90,s
Put this song on repeat and sit back relax and mellow out
Divine audio luxury ⭐

April 2021 and still listening. still a Fanny in love
OMG This tape was incredible. This, Birdland and the Real People played incredible sets. Loved 'em.
wish they'd release this version - so much better in the higher key
i had this version on repeat play on my walkman for a whole year.. got me through my train journey's from SE London to Old Street and back..

Damn playing this on repeat on a drunken Friday night
cheers
i also have the tape from way back when and agree that this is the best version
I used to have this tape, some brilliant material on it but this is the best version of Everything Flows.
Probably the best version. This is a generational anthem. Anybody have a download link of this masterpiece? I can't leave without it!
I’ve got it on mp3
But there are ways to download from TH-cam too
What an amazing version of an amazing song!

Come back to this so often now. Thanks for posting.
6m23s of absolute musical bliss.
I am another who has searched for years for this! Thanks for uploading it. I love it. It is by far the greatest version.
^ ^ ^ ^
This
I still have this tape! Purely because of the version of EF which is the best ive heard!
been looking for this version for years! I had that cassette when it came out, good times.
Also still have the tape. My favourite ever TFG song. Spectacular. Very underrated band.
been searching for this for years. my preferred version too. many thanks
I agree to every single word you wrote. This one gave a meaning to a part of my life. Greetings from Chile.
I eventually happened to see the Fannies played live earlier this year, if I die tomorrow, I will die a happy man!
Raw and intense version.....Luv it!!
Whoah - never heard this version before today!! Ace. Thanks so much for this.
you're soooo right. all the BBC sessions i've ever heard kick ass. have you ever heard the pixies at the BBC? some seriously raw, brutal rock n' roll!
Agreed, the best version..
unbelievable
Thanks for uploading this, I had this tape, once. Always was my preferred version.
Listened to this cassette to death in a girlfriends bedroom back in the autumn of 1991. I agree-the best free cassette given away by a music mag.
The definitive version. I lost my tape twenty years ago. This century sucks and rules at the same time.
That cassette as a whole, is prob the greatest free giveaway ever
I keep seeing references to the cassette. What's the story behind it? How was it given away?
it was given away free with Vox magazine in the early 90's
@@docco007 I may be wrong, but I think it was "Select" rather than Vox.
arrr i remember that tape. played it over and over. this was my fav track off it
I'd like to add my thanks as well. Lost my tape of this years ago and always preferred it to the single version...so good to hear it again.
the definitive edition
peel sessions i love RIP John
Always reminds me of home, thanks for sharing this!
Think this was a session for the Mark Goodier weekday early evening show rather than Peel, if I remember correctly.
I have the tape in the loft as well! great song
everyone here is right. this is the best version.
Mi canción favorita ya desde muchos años
La mejor banda escocesa
Best lead solo ever .
is it me or everything from BBC sessions rocks like it has a better sound...its alive!!!!
HELL yeah
Awesome
aside from the brilliant peformance, the most amazing thing about this is the fact that the fannies appear to be essentially 5th billing on this otherwise heap o shite.
What a band... never quite got the attention they deserved, did they?
Just checked my own tape and this is a different session to the one in the Vox cassette. Still a great one though
It isn't a different version, it is from the Vox cassette. It is a black cassette with grey writing. Maybe you have the wrong cassette.
Wow! That's really good.
This one sounds more melancholy than the original as that one portrays a bitter and cold vibe. Both are great though.
lol. I'm excited too. I forgot about these guys
i think it came with select magazine or was the NME? anyway, i ahd it and it was the best free tape i ever got , thanks to the fannies track.. the rest of the stuff of the tape.. i can't even recall anymore!!
Where could I find a 320 Wav of this tune?
i think it came with select magazine or was the NME? anyway, i had it and it was the best free tape i ever got , thanks to the fannies track.. the rest of the stuff of the tape.. i can't even recall anymore!!
6 years later haha it came free with the VOX magazine mate, get back if you get the message.
What was the Chapterhouse track?
@@manbearpig7521 It was Breather. You can pick this tape up on Discogs for about £1 + p&p
@@Redswipe thanks! I remember it vividly.
I think I might even prefer the live version on the Select Glastonbury 93 tape. (And I was there!)
my mission tommorow is to find this tape probably hidden in the loft somewhere
@agratton1976 Still got mine, Sally ann by The Milltown Brothers was also a good 'un!!
I had this tape! I had this tape! I had this tape! Was it from 'Select' magazine?
no i havent heard pixies but i seen the CD...i bet it is so raw and contagious....led zep is by far the best
Awesome early 90s classic from Mr Blake etc. Shame about the irritating squit in the commercial just before it.
What is this song about? Falling in Love? Or being rejected?

I still have this tape in a shoe box at ma Da's.
Definitely Vox, btw. My favourite version of this track.
Reply necessary: now people are throwing 'Select' into the mix. Save me a loft excursion, people.
Should be the National Anthem
Love Teenage Fanclub, but the production on the first two albums makes me sad, the bass and drums are so muffled. This is a much better production
OK, just seen..it was Vox...no reply necessary...
fucking hell! EMF and Jesus Jones are playing after Teenage Fanclub! It's a travesty!
The Best Version Of This Song Without Doubt Is By 'Velvet Crush' It Rocks Like Hell...
