Fix Windows Security Not Working in Latest Windows 11

- So you installed windows 11 and now windows security ie: windows defender is not working? well this is a known issue which will be resolved by Microsoft, but here is a way to fix it until its patched by Microsoft.
1. Press the Win key to open the Start Menu
2. Type Windows Powershell
3. Click Run as administrator
4. Type this command and press enter:
Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.SecHealthUI -AllUsers | Reset-AppxPackage
You Windows Security should now be fully working.

In my case this solution wasn't working, I fixed it by right clicking "Windows security" in the start menu, "App settings" and then "Reset"

Great video. Nice & simply explained. Wish I had seen this about an hour ago :-) I ended up reverting back to Win 10 because of this. I like almost everything else about Win 11 except for this and the fact that the icons and fonts all seem so small. It took me forever (last night) to download and install 11. And that is after I spent the time to do a mirror image backup - just in case. Maybe I will give it another try in a couple of weeks now that I have seen your video. Right now, I'm just very relieved that everything reverted back alright.

Initially not worked, but when I tried after running as administrator for Windows PowerShell it worked. Thanks a ton. WIN 10 was much better than WIN 11.

Just another reason why you don't install a not ready for prime time OS on your daily driver. Windows 10 is supported until 2025. I am in no rush to move over to Windows 11.
Someone needs to test it or it will never be released
@@Britec09 Definitely, but Windows Defender has been buggy for a long time, not just in this Windows 11 beta.
I have been fighting with a crashing Windows Defender History for quite a while now. It forces me frequently to disable antivirus completely.
I get the feeling that the Microsoft devs ether don't give a shit, or are laughably incompetent.
@@andreasplosky8516 Mine has been Windows Update. Fortunately, looks like some previous update resolved my super long initialization on WIN10 out of nowhere, which also came on out of nowhere...
@Evan Of course it is not easy, but when some bugs have been around for some time, even bugs that force you to disable your anti-virus, when you need it the most (during the installation of new software), then someone at MS has to get of his ass, and do something (I am not talking about Win 11 by the way. I use Win10 as my regular OS, and only run Win 11 in a VM for testing purposes).
In general I really appreciate MS Windows. It does a lot of things really well, but the crashing Explorer and crashing Defender History issue have been along for a long time.
Oh and thanks for the Ryzen 5 fix :). I have a Ryzen 5 myself.

Holy heck, you my good man have saved me. I've been having this issue for a couple months now ever since I upgraded my laptop to Windows 11 from Windows 10 and I couldn't really find any answer online. I was at the point I was gonna get Avast again before I searched here on TH-cam and found this video. Just that one simple command and it fixed it for me, though it's baffling how the bug is still around since I upgraded only a couple months ago at the time of this writing.
