- This is Sonic 1 Color Contrast! This is a hack by TheInvisibleSun where you have to restore colour and music back to Sonic 1. It’s a tough challenge, as you can see for yourself in this video. Or am I just terrible at it? =P

Sonic for the Game Boy
Gameboy was four shades of green not grey so really you should have said tiger game.com
Well there is a black and white filter

The same games work on the original, the pocket, the pocket light, the color, and three of the GBA versions.
It's grey on the pocket and pocket light, on the color and GBA it's whatever the game is programmed for, or whichever of the 15 options you picked on startup.
Then there's the Super Gameboy, which again can have programmed colours but also will let you pick any 4 colours you like...

@@KuraIthys also super Gameboy was an attachment for the super Nintendo so it doesn't count as it doesn't have its own screen

I have at times hooked up stuff even up to an n64 to black & white TV's...
Also I owned an atari 800XL for like 3 years without ever seeing anything in colour (Even though for it's age it has a lot of possible colours), because I used a monochrome green monitor with it...

That's a high jump shield. You do jump higher when you have it.
Yeah, I realised when uploading, hence the annotation. But during gameplay, for some bizarre reason, I couldn't tell the difference...
Oddly enough I didn't see the annotation, I must've been too early lol

Your review seemed to be falling apart in the beginning because you are such impatient man =P, but eventually you pulled through. I think the jump boost is meant to reach higher areas that you can't reach without it perhaps.
Every area in each level is reachable without the Hi-Jump shield; it just makes the game easier, like any power up. Also, the version in the video is rather old, and the 2014 Hacking Contest version fixed some of the problems shown.

Here's a little story for you, Red: One day, Sonic woke up and went for a walk through the South Island. But, the island wasn't any colorful this time. Sonic felt confused. He thought: "Who could do that? My Arch-Nemesis Dr Robotnik is the biggest candidate for this chaos causing. Durning that time, Boggy B has warped to your house and said: "I bet, that Professor Worminkle has sprinkled the South Island with the magic gray ink with the help of Dr. Eggman. You have a mission to accomplish! Restore the South Island to it's original colors and splashes. Do it, Red, Please, restore the color of South Island redhotsonic. Only you can do this mission of color restoration!" And so, you gave the mission a try and was confused a lot in the beginning and only got to your senses in the end.
