1997. Went to see Creed as a joke, because they were a joke. The Tea Party was the opening band. We got a concert a lot like this one. It was amazing. I had never heard of them, but became a life long fan from that one concert. Thank you Creed.
The Tea Party are such a brilliant combination of talent, sensuality, creativity and spiritual balance. I will never tire of their sound. New and old. Peace to all.
I'm Canadian, so are they, that's the reason they didn't get huge..same thing with Tragically Hip, I mother Earth etc etc etc......Yes Rush made it, and so did Guess Who and Neil Young, but that was before videos.
No they were exactly their time oliver stones the doors came out in 94 then the alternative Rock scene was on they are just too intellectual and spiritual to be mainstream but those who like them like them alot.
@@andrewaskew9207 I live close to Ontario, Canada just across the border in America. Therefore, we get the Canadian Stations, and man Canada has been pumping out rockers for the longest time. Like Big Wreck, Matthew Good, Sam Roberts, The Headstones, The Hip, The Trews, Tea Party, Glorious Sons, even Crash Test Dummies. Canada has just been killing it with Canadian Rock but mainstream American media won’t put forth the effort to give these rockers a chance. Most of these bands like Big Wreck are still grinding out albums but the media is too worried about view count and won’t expose some genres to the public in fear of losing-profit so they just stick with the safe choices. Has a lot to do with new-emerging music cultures but also Ticketmaster, Apple Music, Shift in Radio, Shift in MTV, TH-cam, Concert Production, and more are in fault of this extinction...
@@Sjamesmusic yeah Canadians really have to support their own talent I have seen about the half the bands you mentioned and many others but the concert scene is not the same as the 90s now either when those artists emerged. Our music is just one of our cultural differences with the States I think we are a bit misunderstood by them generally though and we are far more exposed to their culture and media then them to ours.
Spent a few years in Canada in the 90's. Music was AMAZING. Saw these guys live a couple times. Spirit of the west, Bare Naked ladies, Crash test dummies, Rawlins cross, Our lady peace - the list was endless.
No no no, last week was tragically hip's last concert and the media said they were the best canadian band. I cant stand tragically hip but hey, the media said they were the best.
yeah you are right, the media is never full of shit. I also think you are wrong, Tea Party is not one, if not the worst canadian band. Rush also fucking sucks. Moist also sucks. Nickelback... awww to die for soooooo good. How well does sarcasm go through simple words? And this "transmission" album here, pffff, lousy attemp at music, which is why i listen to it. Im trying to figure out why 3 guys would play this kind of "music".
yes they are one of the best bands to come out of Canada. I've seen them live in there home town of Windsor,Ontario & London,Ontario many times. Another great Canadian band that doesn't get enough respect is 54-40, I've seen them live a few times & there amazing & so many hit songs but they don't get respect like The Tragically Hip do. Other great Canadian bands imo are The Guess Who,Neil Young,Killjoys,13 Engines,Our Lady Peace,I Mother Earth,The Headstones,Wide Mouth Mason,Out Of Your Mouth,Annihilator,Anvil, Helix,Razor,Quo Vadis,Exciter,Bobnoxious,Monster Voodoo Machine,Killer Dwarfs,Billy Talent,Simple Plan,Nickleback,Theory Of A Deadman,Big Wreck,Big Sugar & the list goes on & on 😃😃
Have just discovered these guys, just blows me away,I guess it might be frustrating to be compered to Morrison but,I guess it would must be nice to be up in there in that rare altitude of talent.Long live guys
I'll never forget this show. I was there with my dad and man was that amazing. This live version of Sister Awake might be the most epic song ever performed live!!!
Jeff himself once said they are probably the loudest three piece on tour. And my own experience says they must be the best. Heard them first as support for Queensryche and they blew them away with only one hour. Unforgetable.
With the amount of content available on TH-cam I only just found this gig. The Transmission tour my first of many Tea Party and Jeff Martin gigs. It was at a dodgy night club called Transformers in Melbourne. The medicine was strong, loads of strobe lights... Imagery of Jeff burned into my memory. An immaculate dream. Watching this is like an hour long flashback. Beautiful!
As a lover of most music and different types of genres. These guys live was the best concert I have ever been to. Entertained from start to finish. I heard many types of different sounds and styles at their show. Still blown away
Just might be the best live band of all time. I have been a huge fan from day 1 and proud to say I have seen them a dozen times! The last being in 2022. Still as good as 1990. Personal favourite concert was at Massey Hall with full orchestra. Best concert I have ever experienced. I’m 52 years young and still pull into work with the Tea Party crancked! Lol
They are one of favorite bands from this time in music history. All of there new albums are amazing too. I love the way they interpret their own songs in their live performances... They are unlike most bands, they don't just play the songs live, the tea party really brings there song to life.
I say that as I was never able to see them in the 90s(being a small child an all) so my first live experience with the Transmission album was TX20 which was a beast of an album live, I unfortunately never got to see them when they toured for Edges 20. The most recent one I saw at Caesar's Windsor with the Orchestra was absolutely fantastic. A close second for live performances for me personally was the Oakville Centre for the performing arts that was such great experience. They are my favourite band of all time so I've listened and collected just about everything that they have release publicly at least. but again I say that as my personally opinion. @tranullius6087
I hear you, I only really like a few songs off the first Doors album. TTP has always reminded me more of Zeppelin and Sabbath and bands of that caliber. allegedly the remaining members of the Door once approached Jeff if he do vocals for a reunion tour to which he declined.@tranullius6087
As a Canadian myself The Tea Party are one of my main musical influences.I've seen them many times in London,Ontario@University of Western,Ontario & at Western Fair Grounds & in their home town of Windsor at the Blues Festival down on the river front with Big Sugar & 54-40.They are an amazing band live! They just came out with with a live Cd & DVD entitled "Live From Austrailia" on Nov.27th/2012.
i had this recorded on VHS from the TV and had to hide the tape so my parents wouldnt accidentally tape over it! those were the days LOL Thanks for the upload!!
Dude thanks for posting this. And in such great quality. I threw out all of my VHS tapes a long time ago not realizing how stupid that was at the time. But thanks to people like you I don't have to miss them as much.
wow! this is awesome. I seen them live once a couple years ago in a small venue and it was by far the best concert i have ever seen. I will have to watch this with my hubby. Thanks for the upload!
OMGi remember when this aired back in '98 Killer band, killer show, the hair on my neck stands up when they play live.........bands these days don't hold a candle to these guys when it comes to performing live. Lots going on there.......pure talent! make a new album!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow what a show!! I Wish i was there!!! Cant wait for the new album and The Tea Party Australian tour mid next year!! Recently saw Jeff Martin Solo Tour at Jive bar in Adelaide... Blew me away!! Amazing Talent!! Beautiful Person!! 93s.
Would have loved to been in the crowd that night. Awesome show, Awesome sound, Awesome setlist. This is ONE GREAT TALENTED BAND. Big fan of there's and also love the new album guys. The title tracks kicks as$.
Please don't thank me, I just uploaded it because I thought it would give the band more exposure. You can thank the band by purchasing their cd's and dvd's :)
+Alexandre Breault I totally agree; I saw them in Montreal on the 18th of September and they blew my mind! Almost 3 hours of show, crazy energy, so generous, still loving what they do after all these years! The Tea Party rules!
same as in buff a cpl yrs ago they opened wth the river as they walk on stage sky just looked evil got dark winds pick up...the best show ive seen by them as the kids say epic lol also seen jeff by himself acoustic sweet
Remember when Much Music was good? Pepperidge Farm remembers. When they quit playing videos and ran The Osbournes and other reality bullshit all day long that was it's death knell.
No it's just a small tv station they are all screaming and clapping some of the girls look like they are crying as if the music is not awesome enough Jeff comes out and says they are performing to raise about domestic violence and the crowd applauds that too.
I have one complain ; the crowd is so too quiet for this epic and so talented group ! My favorite band since their very beginning ! So nice to hear again and again those songs !
To be fair, that was kinda the point. It was a concert that was "Intimate and Interactive". The musicians knew it and the fans lucky enough to be there did too. That's what made it so incredible and special.
yeah, they used to get crazy crowds...I remember going to one of the Edgefests and for some reason people were throwing all kinds of plastic bottles onto the stage...some of the bottles were half full and I saw a guy get hit on the side of the head and he started to bleed, so I just had my arms covering my head the whole time :)
The sound comes from much music's open air in house mic recording mix into the sbd mix... they had it set up real.... good, I took the tour back day... watch what happened when they did it outside with Smashing Pumpkin's.
All I can say is wow....I think I saw this show in Buffalo,NY at a small venue the same year...it was absolutely the best concert I've ever been to.....The loud crowd kind of ruined some of the show, I remember Jeff kept trying to hush them during certain sections....
this is just insanely good... it's almost unfathomable a band with 3 members can sound like this live...
This is..... One of thee best bands that has ever existed.
1997. Went to see Creed as a joke, because they were a joke. The Tea Party was the opening band. We got a concert a lot like this one. It was amazing. I had never heard of them, but became a life long fan from that one concert. Thank you Creed.

May be true. Please check out Floater from Portland OR. 1997-present
This band has always been underrated!
Nov. 23/21 I can't get enough of these guys and their music even after THIRTY YEARS!! Total talent and fantastic music.
Dam I miss when Much Music use to have actual music on TV & intimate & interactive shows like this one!
All good
I’m here from the future. Much music still doesn’t have actual music on it.
25 years in and still to this day I am in awe of this band...
These guys are still the best band Ive ever seen live. Fucking awesome sounds for just 3 guys.
every time they come to vancouver i make a point of seeing them. helluva show
These guys were WAY ahead of their time and unfortunately suffered for that. The lyrics are so poetic.
Except they reformed and are still as awesome!!!
I'm Canadian, so are they, that's the reason they didn't get huge..same thing with Tragically Hip, I mother Earth etc etc etc......Yes Rush made it, and so did Guess Who and Neil Young, but that was before videos.

I remember being 17 and watching this on Much during the live performance. Psychopomp changed my life musically. Those last 2 minutes are brutal
Stunning performance and production. Still great all these years later
Oct, 2021 and still holding water...... I absolutely LOVE this band.
Such a beautiful and talented bunch.
Best Canadian Band PERIOD.Makes me proud to be a Canadian musician.

Jeff Martin has been said to have perfect vocal tone and projection. You're a loser Pat, go troll somewhere else.

No one has "liked this yet" ? WTF?! Thank you, asphinxkat, for putting this whole show here.
I'll never forget this show. I was there with my dad and man was that amazing. This live version of Sister Awake might be the most epic song ever performed live!!!
The entire band is outstanding! Drummer holds his own with Bonham.
I remember watching this on MuchMusic back in 1998. God I miss the 90s.

Ah, Jeff before he started sporting the Captain Morgan look.... :). Probably my favorite recording of Temptation ever. Thanks for posting...
I think so too !
Perfekt

You know they're just about done recording a new album?
so true, live, these guys are powerful, extremely powerful, Martins voice is huge and fills the entire room like no one else.
This was their best show ever. Just absolute perfection. Absolutely nailed all of their songs.
yes me too. fantastic musicianship on so many levels.

Tea party and big wreck- best bands out of Canada by a huge margin
The Tea Party came out and wrecked that joint with on fire rock and roll...and that audience just stood there like ingrate zombies

love these songs better then the cd versions, this bad rocked so hard!
