Pretty certain the exodia players played his cards wrong but it didn't matter. Obliterate blaze doesn't destroy spells and traps, it gives exodia new effects. You can't use them in the battle phase.

Drawing a piece of Exodia isn't the end of the world. Wedju Temple places any monster from hand into the backrow to get a Millenium monster from Deck. So you can still potentially make use of them to access your engine cards.
He got real unlucky with Game 3 of his feature match on stream, where he opened TWO pieces, Trivikarma, and only one starter. Unfortunate

I haven't seen a smokescreen side deck in years, I'm so hyped that this may be a thing again! If decks are all hand traps and you can side into a going 2nd engine when going second or a going 1st engine when going first why wouldn't you?

Mostly because it's historically bad & doesn't actually work the way most would want it to & is much much worse than siding the auto-win cards most decks tech in against certain matchups.

He Cheated on a feature match because he didnt know how that card works.
If he entered battle phase he cannot use that effect.
The quick play spell does not activate that effect. The quick place spell gives Exodia that effect permanently. (It's a once per turn ignition effect)
So on MAIN PHASE, Exodia the monster is to pay half his life points to activate that effect to give it all of the pieces.
If he ends her battle he couldn't do that and he'd lose the game. Or if that effect is negated he will lose the game

@@jonanderirureta8331 true but you can't use anything to turn you activate that effect. So once you activate that it BETTER be game.
Though I don't play that card in my all. I played two of the blow up board trap.
Because if you draw two pieces, And basic combo you have game if they can't kill Exodia on their turn.
They would have to commit to stopping the search because you Auto in with Exodia, most likely if they do that then they get it gamed anyway because when it's your turn together you're just going to kill them with the monster with like 7 to 8,000 attack

I've seen the Mermail/Atlantean deck and it pretty bad when its barely competition for Red-Eyes Bystial there are some cards but the deck just minuses to badly they even had the nerve to put a discard cost on the new Poseidra xyz a card that could have justified all cards you lose and made it revive from grave instead from grave or banished zone. There are the Shark cards that can help them but thats about all they got maybe Marincess can help them to.
