    I realized the watch was flawed 5 minutes after I received it. Ten minutes later I was requesting a return label from Timex to send it back. I still can't understand how on earth this watch reached end customers with that major flaw. I think that speaks volumes about Timex's QC. And I don't think it's a faulty batch, because as far as I know everyone has the same problem. I agree with you 100%. This is nothing but a great looking watch which is way overpriced for what it is.

      @@joseluisrodriguezvazquez6082 I’m simply going to say I’m 💯 behind your comment!!… only good news is I did in fact get refunded rather quickly by Timex after returning it!

    Hello and thank you for the very interesting video: you saved me €400! I had been eyeing this watch for a while and was tempted to buy it, even though I already own several Diver's (including Seiko, Citizen, Orient): all excellent and with excellent luminescence on both the indexes and hands! Sincerely,
    Massimo.
    P.S. I subscribed to your channel.

    Funny thing is… I returned a much more expensive Tissot that the stem fell off in my hand during the unboxing. And I own other Tissot that are super watches. I am expecting my Timex (this model) to be delivered today. I’m hoping I don’t have the problem you showed here, because like you I really like the watch. I imagine every company could have problems and the QC person lets one slip through from time to time. Fingers crossed yours was that once. Thanks for the review.

      Let me know how yours is! I’m hoping you get a good one. It’s just the lack of lume on the hands where it was non existent on mine and apparently many others! Again hoping they got the problem fixed! It’s a good looking watch…lmk!

      @ I received it as they promised in the 18th. It appears the lum on the hands is not the same quality as every other place it is used on this watch. So it is not fixed. I plan to keep the watch, I don’t depend on the lum in dark situations and beside the lum, I like the watch. 🤷‍♂️

    That stem what stem what the freakin heck?! Thats like a damn Vistok (which is supposed to be wobbly)! I’d send it back too, in spite of the beautiful appearance of it.

      It’s interesting to see. I just got mine yesterday and the stem has no wobble in it at all and no gear grinding sounds at all. I agree there must be some QC issues.

    • @massimorubino277
      @massimorubino277 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Vostok watches are designed just like that, with the "wobbly crown", to protect the stem from shocks: with the crown screwed down the stem is disengaged from the crown and so cannot transmit shocks and/or vibrations to the movement. Also the lume of the hands and indexes is present, even if it does not last very long (but the hands are visible in the dark longer than the indexes) and an "Amphibia", purchased from a Russian dealer in Russia, even with customs duties, costs less than a third of this "dark Diver's" Timex and is a real watch waterproof up to 200 meters and even more, in fact!

    I think it might be a manufacturing defect. I've seen some that look fine but a lot that have NO lume.. weird

    • @RSSpec
      @RSSpec  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Many if not most products we buy have warranties today. Stuff happens, things break. But the fact that it was like that out of the box shows me that Timex has a quality control problem! That nobody inspects the product before it ships. I’m pretty forgiving with my watches and their shortcomings, none are perfect!! I have others with poor lume but the lume on mine is nonexistent!! To me that watch just isn’t worth the asking price! I may consider a Stainless Steel version that sells for $200.

      @@RSSpec agreed. thanks for the review. I had a 20% discount code and was debating pulling the trigger. I really liked this watch though with Sapphire/titanium/automatic/200m

      I received an obviously faulty watch. The titanium one The pip in the bezel isn't lumed. The minute and hour hands ate not lumed properly and and they almost don't glow at all. The rest of the lumed parts are lumed properly and do glow as expected. The movement also has something that is not ok. When setting the time you can feel how the wheels grind against each other.
      The only response from the customer care has been to return the watch and the shipping costs will be deducted from the refund. The reason they provide is that the watch doesn't meet my expectations, not that is a faulty watch.
      I find this outrageous.
      The watch strap has some serious design fault. The two parts are equally long and you will have to slide a substantial portion between your wrist and the other silicon part, which is very difficult, and to take it off is even more difficult with enormous force and i feel it will brake the silicon very soon.

      @@vincenzocalia6552I see you watched my follow up video as well and can see I had the same problem!! I was very disappointed and sent my back the very next day. I think the reason they put on the RA was “Not as advertised” or something to that effect! As I mentioned in my follow up video there are a great many better watches you can get for $479!!! I could POSSIBLY revisit Timex for a SS version for $199 but that may be hard to do after this one!! Thanks for your input Vincenzo 🇮🇹!!

      @@RSSpec yes, what a shame. I do find it wrong that instead of offering a swap free of charge they just offer a refund minus the shipping costs. It's not worth wasting money with this brand. I won't risk anymore with them. There is only one chance to get customers, if you miss it you loose them forever. And I have to say it's very well deserved with them.
      It is a shame that I only found your video after I had this bad experience and wanted to share it in social media for helping others not to fall into this. I would have never risked if I had found it before.

    What a shame, it’s a great looking watch, the crown issue is truly atrocious quality control, as is the lack of any lume on the hands. If anyone has the same issues send them back while under warranty.

      I already returned the Titanium one for a refund but I may revisit Timex and think of trying the less expensive SS divers with the quartz movement, probably the blue one for around the $200 range.
