I am using an ATC setup, including a sub-woofer so I am surrounded with a beautiful sound; distinct but not intrusive bass, a rich, well tuned piano and discrete, complementary drums. A good time to open that nice bottle of red. Well done guys!

I do believe the purpose of this audio selection is to test your sound system, not to evaluate the sound source.
I am playing this back through a set of book shelf speakers. Initially, it sounds like the bass is being pushed a bit. When I add the sub-woofer, it's really Bassey. Not a bad thing. It's all about the bass!

If you take old school speakers made from instrument grade plywood from their box cabinets and put them in identical sized MDF cabinets. The difference is likened to that of a Stradivarius to a pawn shop violin. If you can find some old Dual book shelfs or others to try it and satisfy yourself well tough luck... TY

Yea ... Don't know how. But I always get more depth from high end analog... piano as well as all natural human sensitive instrumentation progenitors over all else?

For me too crystalline is always that. The caricature of some old school floor cabinets. In happenstance w mix match equipment of old school affordability?
Like a 70's JBL SA 660 integrated amp. A standard Girard table and a pair of Infinity Pos One floor cabinets. Ha. Everything punch's and full warmth and presence. Just saying?
