With our without Covid-19, Edmonton is very VERY boring. There's really not a whole lot to do here. I've been here for almost 20 years, and the biggest problems that make this city boring are: #1 - Weather. Weather conditions lock you in your home for LITERALLY half the year (unless you don't mind skiing, running, or doing anything else outside in very cold weather). The most simple thing you can do almost anywhere, is to go outside for a walk, and it's not really appealing to most when it's in cold weather; The cold weather that lasts for over 5½-6 months of the year. #2 - It's NOT cheap here. Yes, we don't have provincial (Harmonized) sales tax, but the crappiest apartment in the city cost around $1000(Canadian)/month. When the oil industry is moving, almost anyone can make money here. Either with real estate, or working directly or indirectly in the oil industry. People come here for work (when it's available), make their money, and then leave when the well runs dry. What wrecked Edmonton, as well as many other places in the world, was the oil boom of 2005. Housing prices went up by 275%, while wages only moved up 10%-20%. Prices haven't really come down since, and the well has indeed run dry. Without oil and what it does for our economy, it's basically unlivable. Before the oil boom, this place was livable, but now it's just not. Without being more easily affordable, you'd have less money to spend on the already limited leisure activities this city has to offer. Don't get me wrong, it's not the WORST place in Canada. It has a lot to offer, but maybe, just for a visit. If you're thinking about moving here, you can do better.
Edmonton can’t wait to have you 😁. Do you have a specific area you are interested in living in? If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to us through our contact information.

i ll be an EDMONTON citizen one day .. thanks for the great video ... peace.
We would love to have you 😁
If god well maybe one day me and my family will go there Edmonton is beautiful
You wouldn't say that if you lived in Edmonton.
I feel like I’m not edmontonian enough seeing how hard you guys cheer on the Oilers
Edmonton has the biggest building in Canada outside of Toronto not just in western Canada.
Oh wow how much do the buildings cost?.
@@meggiewillis9705 More money than you and I have added together.
@@dsteffler54 I can do it. I can earn the money so I can be with my Canadian man.
@William Shatner The others have more tall buildings, but Edmonton has the tallest building in Canada outside of Toronto.... and that's a fact.
Just wait until you see it in the winter
I live in Edmonton too but I don't have many friends apart from workmates!😚
Wow,awesome video
With our without Covid-19, Edmonton is very VERY boring. There's really not a whole lot to do here. I've been here for almost 20 years, and the biggest problems that make this city boring are:
#1 - Weather.
Thanks for your video! :D
Cannot wait to move here!
It's a great city!
@@marianserban7876 I can tell 😊

Love the video!
Thank you!
I miss edmonton...
I'm confused. I didn't really learn anything from this video about Edmonton. Except hockey and friendship and a river.
Don't forget river valley
You should update the video to show the prisons where they keep pastor's.
Religion should be outlawed by now, it is 2023 and that repressive practice should have gone in the trash the day we proved it to be nothing more then a myth
Hi there Edmonton kind people
This is an afghan certified refugee that stuck in Indonesia for eight years by now, I was forced to flee my homeland due to insecurity that threatened my life to death by the Extremist Taliban in 2014.
I refuge to UNHCR in Indonesia to seek asylum and have been recognized as a Refugee in 2016 since then I am waiting for resettlement to a third country so I can live freely and help my family back there, but unfortunately the process is very slow it took me eight years.
As I fulfill the requirements for private sponsorship to Canada, I poorly as five kind-hearted citizens of Canada to help me over come this misery.
🙏🙏
Your kindness won't be forgotten.
Moving there in a few months for college, looking forward to it!
Living in a tent yet?
La ciudad de los campeones👍👍👍👍
Wow, where's the snow? The Chad quotient is way to high in this video. Does Oiltown have any diversity? Please show it in your vid.
Proud to say I am Edmontonian.
Dear people of Edmonton,
I just had a look on an aerial image of Alberta.
As a geographer I am really curious what those brown dots in the forests are that can be seen especially between Edmonton and the Rocky Mountains. Many of them can be seen northwards from route 16 (yellowhead highway). The seem to be connected via dirt roads and my guess would be gathering places for logging or maybe hunting?
Thanks a lot and have a nice day!
Edit: Wait, are these drilling spots from hydraulic fracturing? Thats insane?!
Yes, it is all oil extraction and pump stations. Crazy stuff.
I was recently invited to a Jr High/High School reunion in Edmonton and I turned it down and refused and I don't care if it's a once in a lifetime and a small window of opportunity.
Waow... Edmonton- Canada is beautiful... love from Abu Dhabi- United Arab Emirates. Can't wait to visit that part of the world
