Yes, the area affected by the active landslide is only a small part of the Palos Verdes peninsula, but the area that was moving for decades expanded in the middle of 2023, so a larger area is affected now. The City of Rancho Palos Verdes has some excellent maps on their city website.
@@ericfielding2540 yes. But not much larger . The homes in Portuguese Bend that are now sliding quickly have always been sliding but at a much slower rate. And the area in Seaview was affected in 1956 which is why they stopped development of Seaview for 6 years.
Yes. The area has been extensively studied by geologists and the peninsula is in jeopardy.

Actually before Trump owned that golf course, there was a landslide and the 18th hole slid down the cliff.
Just an FYI, its a small area w a long known landslide in Portuguese Bend. NOT the whole Peninsula. Not all of RPV by any means
