Breakfast In America is such a terrific album! Supertramp is such an experience, and a wonderful group with so many sounds. Goodbye Stranger is a must from them.
Saeed, welcome to the Supertramp rabbit hole. Your musical taste and expectations will now forever change. Their "Crime of the Century" album, released 50 years ago this month is a Masterpiece! Supertramp is epic!
This Song & Pink Floyd's Just Another Brick In The Wall us About How School System Alters Kids Thought Processes & Mind Control. Free Thinking is Discouraged & Shunned
Saw ELO in 1977 in New Orleans "Warehouse"! It literally was a trip back in time to the Inqusition!!! Back then the LSD was real not cut garbage!! My 1 and only trip beyond!!! It was real!!!!
The stylings of the alarm clock and even the saxophone pattern was mimicking the "logical" or regimented flavor. Best ones to hear next, and in this order, "Take the Long Way Home" and then "Goodbye Stranger".
As much as "The Logical Song" perfectly crystallizes the stress of Loss-of-Innocence, "Take the Long Way Home" captures the mid-life crisis, and "Goodbye Stranger", one possible way to find balance after that.
OMG, how did I miss this one? Holycrap!! Supertramp!! Such great songs from them. This one was the anthem, in my opinion of how people are manipulated by the system. Your take on this song is perfect. Thank you, Saeed. Much love to you and your family ❤️ 🫂.
I can’t believe you said you were a “dreamer”... That is another classic Supertramp song... definitely worth a listen. One off of 4-5 albums of incredible music !!❤❤
Supertramp is definitely a rabbit hole you MUST go down! They actually do have a song titled, "Dreamer". A few of my favorites that I'd love to see you react to are: "Bloody Well Right", "Take The Long Way Home", and "School". ALL their tunes are amazing, both instrumentally and lyrically! There are no bad ones by Supertramp! Thanks for this great reaction, Saeed! ✌💙✌
I LOVE Supertramp!! They had tons of airplay in the mid 70's when I was growing up and through the late 70's into the 80's. I love so many of their tunes!! Check out "Dreamer", "Give a Little Bit", "Goodbye Stranger", "It's Raining Again", "Take the Long Way Home", "Oh Darling", "Breakfast in America", "Bloody Well Right" and many more!! Thank you Saeed!!
Love, love supertramp too, and I almost agree if it wasn’t for the songs “Dreamer” and “it’s raining again” Imho really boring and uninspired songs even though I recognize those songs are loved by many. The band Porcupine Tree on the other hand they literally dont have ANY bad songs - just songs you love more than others (but that’s just my humble opinion of course 😉) If you like Pink Floyd too, Im almost certain you would like Porcupine Tree also, I unfortunately didn’t discover them until 2017, lifechanging for me!!
So much more to this group. Songs that make you think like Even in the Quietest Moments or Fool's Overture or whimsical songs like many cuts from Breakfast in America. Great band
🎊 If Steely Dan is on your Top Ten List, so is Supertramp!!! Try on some “Goodbye Stranger,” from the same 1979 album for confirmation‼️ This rabbit hole is a MUST…lyrically and melodically. Enjoy the ride!
Top 10 songs of all time for me. Never get tired of listening to it. And I'm old enough to remember when this album came out, you've got to listen to other tracks on it. So good.
Crime of the Century is a top 5 best rock album ever. Stereo shops used it to test speakers. The songs "School, Dreamer, Crime of the Century, Rudy" to start.
This song, which I heard as a youth, my brother got this album in like 1979 (I am now 55 years) has become one of my foundations, theme songs. You can been in time of trouble, and emotion, or health -and there is "that music" that helps you, to feel better, balanced - someone knows the same experience.
Hi Saeed! "Breakfast in America" is a terrific album, and the ones that came before it, "Crime of the Century" and 'Even in the Quietest Moments" are absolutely brilliant. You're gonna like this rabbit hole. 🙂
YAY one of my ALL time MOST Fav songs from when i was a lil kid all these incredible bands from back then truly taught me a lot about life at a very young age i was an over thinker & a dreamer as far back as i can remember so yea i could relate to many of the songs that were out back then Thank YOU i really like hearing your thoughts & feelings on all these different artists
Another blast from the past - the music of my youth! One that must be sung loudly!! I'm sure this has been sampled many times or used in movies. Olivia Newton John is who you were remembering.
One of my favorite songs!! Sax solo is right up there with Van Morrisons "Tupelo Honey"! Van was shunned by UK music industry & came to USA & was rewarded for his awesome talent. One of his greats, besides "Tupelo Honey" is "Brown Eyed Girl". There are many more!!! BTW, Supertramp has other great songs!! Much love here in Cajun country USA!!! That was when I was 20 years old. Looking back , I am blessed to have lived in that era!!!
Supertramp is one of the best bands though some say they are seriously underrated. Progressive rock at its finest. Speaking of "messages', every single one of their songs has a (deep) message -- and apropos "dreamer", that's the title of one of their songs... If this has been your first Supertramp song, you'll hopefully explore their long road of masterpieces, including the absulutely unique compositions, arrangements and instrumentation... 🙂Great reaction! Not a phrase, I really mean it.🤎 All the very best form Germany
It is the very first song i have heard by them and really enjoyed it. Definitely want to listen to Dreamer :) Thanks so much for watching and have a wonderful day!
Our English teacher used this song to teach us the difference between adjectives and adverbs (in our language the same word can be used as both without any change like an added syllable)
Its really fantastic watching your reaction and more importantly appreciation of music that meant so much to me in my youth. Supertamp were one of my favourite bands back in the 70s.😊
Hi Saeed 👋🏼 Patrick from Luxembourg 🇱🇺 here. I'm an old fan from Supertramp since 1975, and this group was always in my top 5 favourite group. Breakfast in America album from which this song is, was more in their commercial time. I wish you'll listen to their older work, their best work IMHO. Please listen to their song "Rudy" from the album "Crime of the Century" wish contains many gems. Supertramp is definitely worth to deep in. Unfortunately, a bit underrated . Have a nice day 😉

One my favorite bands and favorite songs. It is more than simply logical. (it is based upon the composer's life) They could have been riffing forever. Since you love good lyrics I look forward to your finding the band Genesis! Amazing music with amazing lyrics and amazing voices.
Sorry to reach to you again. I will leave comments one things I Love. And, Supertramp is greatness, they are genius, far beyond their time. They have a huge catalogue, all of great songs. I grew up listen to them, and now I realize I Know all the lyrics of their songs. I swear to God, I can close my eyes and listen to 20 songs of them followed and, it's an amazing experience. I can't explain, they are complex, simple, amazing, I don't know. All their songs are masterpieces but, Hide in your shell and Fools overture are my favourites. They are really special and very underrated. I love them, but for me Queen are the great of the greatest. Ana
I knew you would get this one! I love it! The message reminds me of John Lennon's Working Class Hero and Pink Floyd's Another Brick in The Wall. It was interesting growing up in the 70's. Until disco, sigh...
i was watching, again. Thinking about “when all the world’s asleep”. I don’t sleep much at night. Don’t misunderstand. I sleep plenty. Just not all at once. 4, 5 hours at “night”. My family is asleep when I wake up. Maybe 3 am? 4? I creep around, in the dark, try not to wake dogs or critters. Definitely gives you too much time to think….
Hi there 😊the song's haunting your brain is by "Olivia Newton John " best know perhaps for being a partner of John Travolta on the film "GREASE " . She also made a great solo carrear. Unfortunately gone too soon from this world 😢 take care ✌peace
