Fantastic song. As a metal head growing up in the 80s, all of 70s music that seemed "acceptable" was the harder stuff like Sabbath, Zeppelin etc. So it took me some time to discover those more "sophisticated" 70s rock bands like Supertramp, Steely Dan etc. Glad I did eventually.

Supertramp earned their superstar status one song, one record, at a time. This song from from the very successful album BREAKFAST IN AMERICA was their crowning jewel of the decade. Other songs like RUDY,
    HIDE IN YOUR SHELL,
    TAKE THE LONG WAY HOME,
and the excellent musical journey of CHILD OF VISION are worth a listen. Keep that inner child open and alive for as long as you can, Maddie. It keeps the smile on your face. And that makes us all happy. Enjoy

  • @monolit73

I recommend that you make a reaction to one of the best vocalists in the world.
"What is that sound? This sound is beyond our ordinary world, beyond the music we are accustomed to. Generally beyond the music that we expect to hear in films. According to the director of this film, Denis Villeneuve, Hans Zimmer worked on this music for several months - a very long time for such a project. He searched for and created these unusual sounds, trying to go beyond the boundaries of what he could do and was used to doing. As we understand it, he succeeded. We heard music here that is not only extraterrestrial, but also timeless. Something similar could probably have sounded ten thousand years ago. Or maybe this is what our future will sound like. There are very few artists capable of producing such sounds. It's not just vocal capabilities and good technique - it's a completely different aesthetics, a different psychology, a different physiology. The artist must not only accurately hit the notes of this strange score - he must, first of all, be convincing. He should sound as if these sounds are not exotic to him at all - but a natural part of his nature. It should sound organic, it should sound beautiful at the same time - and dangerous, alarming, warning. In this case, that's exactly what it sounds like. Whether you like this sound or not, no one doubts that this sound is the most real. That this is not a sophisticated computer design - but a living timbre, living emotions, living energy of the human voice. Voices of the strange, unusual, unexpected. A voice that reminds us at the same time of the sounds of wild nature; and about the sounds of the beautiful singing voices of the past; and about the sounds of some other world, some universe unknown to us - sounds the existence of which we can only guess. All these amazing sounds are contained in the artist we see on this stage - Diana Ankudinova. We could, of course, guess some of what we heard here, remembering her performances on other shows. But we heard a lot of things for the first time - and being always ready to be surprised, nevertheless, we were once again very surprised. Do all these people who helped her create these bizarre sound images understand that they heard from her only a small part of what she is really capable of?.."
    Mikhail Oplesnin

We look forward to your reaction to this fantastic performance.

This song has always spoken to me on an emotional level. I'm naturally a friendly, optimistic person but years of dealing with people has made me cautious and suspicious of everything and everyone I encounter. It's easy to see the bad when you are trained to always be on the lookout for it. Worse yet is that they punish you socially if you don't continue faking being ok. I want to be ok. I want to see the good in people. I want to be able to trust someone without fearing getting hurt for petty reasons. But that's not the kind of world we live in and I hate knowing that.
