And to this day, people remember the Assassins as being the ultimate badasses, despite begging for mercy before being beaten to d3ath by their own guards. Meanwhile Crusaders beat overwhelming odds countless times while founding entire civilizations, and are remembered as savages. No justice.
@@BobGolob Are you serious? Because there is an entire billion dollar video game franchise that glorifies the Assassins and casts the Templars as the constant recurring villains. It's called Assassin's Creed. Then there's the big budget Ridley Scott film "Kingdom of Heaven" from twenty years ago. It doesn't deal with the Assassins, but it does depict the Templars in the approved manner: as bloodthirsty religious fanatics. These and other pieces of media form what most ordinary people understand about the Assassins and the Templars, and shape their assumptions accordingly.
@@gojira387 As I said, teh Assasins are only known in the Ubisoft games. Kingdoms of Heaven depict the Templars as bloodthirsty religious fanatics (the historic accuracy of this movie is quite debatable if you learned history), but this is not their image in the Western world. Templars were the defenders of the pilgrims, who were slaughtered by the Muslims. They have the image of the pure heroic knights fighting evil.
Not too good at “assassinating” either lol Longshanks whooped one literally after waking up from sleep and this was AFTER Hashasin cheap shotted him by stabbin Longshanks in his sleep with poisoned dagger 😂😂
I’m working on a video game set in the crusades but you play the Templars and Crusaders. Then I want to make a sequel called Sicarii where you play a Judean assassin during the Roman Occupation and meet Jesus.
I always dreamt of making a game u play as Godfrey of bullion and in the end fight the devil himself in the form of a dragon, underground. The devil having enslaved countless with opium growing on the surface above where he dwells
Assassin comes from "hashashin" (hash-eater) which is like a doctor, but without all the inconvenient medical ethics that define a diplomat, as opposed to any barbarian wizard.
They begin with the Sicarii, I can’t believe Ubisoft hasn’t based a game on them yet, ridiculous, but I assume it’s because they’d have to include the big J.C. One of the apostles (Simon the Zealot) was a man named Simon Bar Giora who was a son of Judah of Galilee who was the founder of the Sicarii, and Simon was the head of them until his death when his cousin Menahem takes over. A LOT of Jesus boys are sicarii or ex-sicarii.
The Assassins taught the templars the mystery religion, although realcrusadeshistory wont mention it because he refuses to believe the Shion parchments.
It took the mongols one hundered years to take over the last fortress. High up in the mountains and self sufficient four generation of the occupiers lived and defended their stronghold. The typical resistance of Persians.
Ummm, no one. Aga Khan the 4th is the last in succession in an unbroken line going back to the middle ages. The Nizari never really lost power and they have many international assets and schools. But they never went away......
Why did you think the Mongols ultimately refused to spare the life of the last leader of the Assassins?
The Yasa, Gengis Khan's mongol tribale law, forbid the mongols to make peace with those who wouldn't submit to them.
Because he could rebuild
If the Old Man would betray his own Followers, he would betray the Mongols the first chance he got .

That’s because the Enemy writes history and the righteous die in it.
Really? Nobody remember the assassins and the Crusaders are not remembered as savages in the western world...

@@BobGolobno. “As i said” what you said means nothing
Hashashins only found success in assassinating but they were not someone to battle in group because they never had numbers

And they weren’t necessarily great at assassinations either.
They were better at getting high.

I would play it.
You for real? Lol you gonna put it on steam?
That would be awesome!

Those commercials at the end…. Man those were great times.

I always though the Assassin order only existed in the Ubisoft games, never heard about them otherwise.
Then why are you trying to educate people throughout the comments, on something you know nothing about. Your ignorance isnt cute
