LOL. As far as I have one, actually it's a 4.0 version, it's a crappy system, full of problems that you will find out once you've set it up. Mine is a nightmare to adjust and fix. The video floats, freezes, skip frames, jumps ahead, speeds frames and suddenly images vanish and you will never recover them in certain frame spots. Incredible hard to fix these faults. Then there is no decent support, live chat, etc. It's all questions and answers (you type in, or select a question and a list of answers that suits you appear), but they are not answers that you wanted to know, just crap they think you need to know. They're not telling you why live video freeze and speed up, e.g. like passing cars. Have you seen how cars suddenly increase speed and then slow down, or still-freeze on screen then immediately zip across to appear at the other end of the screen in an instant? How do you fix that? I've had my NVR for a year now and I've become sick of it, can't have an inconsistent recordings without the bulshit zip, freeze, float, stick and vanish, etc., not to mention when events are tripped, there is nothing shown on screen that you can click on to view the recorded event in Playback. You have to have a mobile App for that, unlike Hikvision that is better because whenever there is a recorded event there are numbers on the top right corner of the screen, e.g. one recorded event you get a number 1 on screen, 2, 5, or more recorded events, you get 2, 5 or more numbers. Easier to view as many recorded events in Playback by just clicking on the numbers and a list of recorded events appear. Whereas, this rubbish Dahua hasn't even got a simplified way to get to recorded events on PC screen. 🤨

hello.. I have a question. If I have a 5MP wireless IP Camera, and I want to connect it to the NVR which come in bundle with 2MP IP Camera, will it work?
if the NVR has the bandwidth available, then it can work. Most NVR can handle higher res camera but if you put 5MP on every port then you will probably exceed the bandwidth and some cameras wont work. So you can mix your cameras, some 4MP, some 2, MP some 5MP

Not sure what's going on , I am not getting enough support... please help
A few corrections should be made: 1. Whilst a WD Red "NAS" Drive may work, you ideally need a Purple Drive. 2. The unit is an 8 channel, not 16 channel. A 16 channel NVR requires 2 HDDs.

When I go to the Switch settings I notice that the IP address is 10.1.1.1, the default gateway is 10.1.1.1 and the subnet is 255.255.255.0. I'm not sure what I should be changing to get the NVR visible on the home network. thx in advance.
thank you. yeah some of the Dahua NVRs do that. Just ignore it. Or change your subnet to class A. 255.0.0.0
@@ecologicaltime thx for the reply. I ended up leaving the subnet as it was but changed the IP addresses for the switch and default gateway, and after that it let me update the NVR and router address just fine. All good now.
@@ecologicaltime 255.0.0.0 is not a class A subnet it is a \8 subnet 255.255.0.0 is \16 255.255.255.0 is \24
The class A IP address range is 1.0.0.1 to 126.255.255.254 hope this helps
How do you reset that model without a monitor? (please I need help)
Thanks

I have a Dahua NV$ (White one lol) and I cannot get it to record
you don't open screws, you removed them....2:59
I got an issue , all 6 cameras in the UI show invalid username and password, did factory reset, correct password but no luck...in camera registration I can see all 6 cameras as they were previously added but status is red , Dhcp is enabled.
Not sure what's going on , I am not getting enough support... please help
thanks
How do I hard reset this NVR? I have adjusted the resolution and now its saying no signal. I am yet to connect it to the internet also 🤦🏽♀️
what color coding did you use in lancable camera?
EIA568B - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TIA/EIA-568
A few corrections should be made:
1. Whilst a WD Red "NAS" Drive may work, you ideally need a Purple Drive.
2. The unit is an 8 channel, not 16 channel. A 16 channel NVR requires 2 HDDs.
please see that Dahua have 16Ch with only 1 sata drive port.

What is the price of it
Is it possible one camera on local network record by 2 nvr at the same time?
yes, just map the camera to both NVRs
But you will get the skipping in frames at any one Dvr, You have to choose different Stream for both NVR for proper recording.
can conflict with phones, android box if left as dhcp vs static ?
if its DHCP it wont conflict as DHCP server will allocate a new ip address if there is a conflict.
Which is good NVR or DVR?
Hikvision
I have a problem with some of the cameras.. they say "can not find network host"?
You have not configured the network settings correctly. Are you able to log into each camera directly via a web browser?
Am having problems setting up 2 poe switches with 16-channel dahua NVR and cameras, some of the cameras keep going off and on with an error message that(can't find host). pls any help?
might be IP address conflict, two cameras have same IP address. I have a video showing this in my Dahua playlist
DSS-PRO any one know how to set ddns on this platform ?
Awesome job with the video. But i am still stuck. I have a google wifi mesh connected to my switch and a montavue nvr connected to my switch with HIKVISION cameras connected to the poe nvr. However the nvr does not pick up the cameras and i can not seem to access the cameras directly either. Do i need to change the nvr to HIKVISION or did i miss a step? All cameras are connected via poe. Thanks!
You should see the Hik cameras in the list however some NVRs wont show the video feed
Wayyyy to complicated for me. I'll just get a guard dog instead
It is such a great explanation. I would like to ask you 2 questions if you do not mind. May I contact you by email please?
no email. ask please
@@ecologicaltime I am looking for a camera coaxial or IP with external microphone and speaker ports pleease
Good vidéo ,but i have one issue :
I have two nvr dahua 16 poe integrated switch and 30 caméra dahua poe,i reset them and i assigne IP adress for nvr 192.168.1.10 and 192.168 .1.11,
For caméra dahua i assigne 10.1.1.100 to .130.
But why when i restart NVRs ,they restore IP adress from 10.1.1.65 and incrément value to 66 and 67 ....etc.?
Thanks for your support.
I m using web to configure IP directly
Are you saving the settings after you set the static IPs?
yes as Linwood said and after changing one camera did you check that it now works on the new IP address?

Sir how to connect dual monitor in dahua nvr
how does anyone know the ip ssettings on my network. I can make up any number / series.
i can see my router I/P address thru config ? ip 4 etc. for default gateway. ? ? Vague if you have no idea how your IsP router is setup.
from your PC, go to CMD prompt and type: ipconfig
you will see your ip adress.
In Windows 10 you can also go to settings->Network&Internet->Properties
Your ip address that you setup 10.0.0.250 how do you find it? Is your local ip address?
i chose that when i set up my NVR
Can you use it without link to network. Just plug to monitor. No internet no password no nothing except simple watching 4 or 8 cameras on my monitor via HDMI and recording/playback, everything that happened in front of 4 or 8 cameras. I have no internet no mobile phone and don`t care for connecting to any kind of networks except my private home. I have not IP or dont` know IP adres and dont want to mess with paswords and anything. It is complicate. I want simple SIMPLE use to watch and record and play back to only m,y monitor. Nothing else nothing more or less.
you dont need internet to use the DVR. you can use it as you said but it will still ask you for passwords.so you will need to set that.
