- "The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical" is "worthy of the gods!" (Time Out New York). The Greek gods are real, and they’re ruining Percy Jackson’s life. As a son of Poseidon, Percy (Chris McCarrell) has newly discovered powers he can’t control, monsters on his trail, and he is on an epic quest to find Zeus’s lightning bolt and prevent a war between the gods. Normal is a myth when you’re a demigod. McCarrell, Kristin Stokes and Jorrel Javier took the BUILD stage to chat about the musical.

I love how they got the book translated so well into a musical. The best is how many actual lines and actions from the book have been incorporated into it. That is really special and I didn’t know how this musical was gonna turn out when I heard it was being made, but I love this musical so much and I appreciate how much effort was put into this!!!!

I'm kind of frustrated that I didn't come to the show when it was so close by, especially since I'm such a hard PJO fan and has been following this musical for quite a while. The cast seem lovely! I hope everyone who have/can see the show had/have so much fun for me.

For the whole interview I couldn’t tell if they were in character or not. The casting is so on point. I love this so much
If you are thinking about going to the musical, then you totally should. I went to the San Jose show and it was AMAZING
5 seconds into their singing and you can already feel yourself healing from the Peter Johnson movies.
You also get to meet the cast after so it's a win-win. (Some people there knew Kristin and she was like talking to everyone, it was so cool sorry im fangirling)

I watched it at San Jose too! I went to the Friday showing and left school early to watch it. It was definitely pure luck since I had heard about the musical. The musical was really great and even my sister who knows nothing about pjo laughed.

I need this show to do an international tour because I love the soundtrack and Percy Jackson in general but I live in England 😭
I saw the show and loved it a lot. I met most of the cast (except chris unfortunately) and they were all the sweetest. So glad they get to play out these stories that had such a huge role in my childhood

May I point out that at this point, the entire LTM cast is how I envision the characters (except Silena sorry).
ALSO!: I went to the San Jose show and Kristin was literally so sweet and excited and she was jumping up and down when she met everyone. Even her mom’s theatre troupe came to the show I was at so that was an extra factor.
Oh my gosh I'm a part of that troupe LOL we're actually doing TLT right now as our summer show!

the fact they all bond over the books-
Chris's answer to what his favorite book is really warmed my heart, these books have changed a lot of people's perception of the world and , more importantly, their perception of themselves. I have ADHD and had already read all the books prior to my diagnosis so I was lowkey thrilled about it 😆

the thing about theatre bringing people together couldn't be more true. Even for people watching theatre, ive been at stage doors and met people from diffrent countrys and states and learned a bunch about them from talking about musials and actors and stuff

I would think it would be Luke's last moments, wouldn't it? That's what I always remember as one of the most memorable parts of Luke's character and last book of the storyline of the first series, when the prophecy finally comes to fruition.
